Psalms 36
1 To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, [that there is] no fear of God before his eyes.
Jusqu'à la Fin. Psaume de David, serviteur du Seigneur. L'injuste a dit en lui-même qu'il pécherait; il n'a point devant les yeux la crainte du Seigneur.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity is found to be hateful.
Car il a agi frauduleusement en sa présence, au point que son iniquité lui a attiré sa haine.
3 The words of his mouth [are] iniquity and deceit: he hath ceased to be wise, [and] to do good.
Les paroles de sa bouche sont fraude et iniquité; il n'a pas voulu comprendre pour faire le bien.
4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way [that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil.
Sur sa couche, il a pensé au mal; il s'est arrêté en toute voie mauvaise; il n'a point haï la méchanceté.
5 Thy mercy, O LORD, [is] in the heavens; [and] thy faithfulness [reacheth] to the clouds.
Seigneur, ta miséricorde est au ciel, et ta vérité s'étend jusqu'aux nuages.
6 Thy righteousness [is] like the great mountains; thy judgments [are] a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
Ta justice est comme les montagnes de Dieu; tes jugements sont comme un abîme profond; Seigneur, tu sauves les hommes et les bêtes.
7 How excellent [is] thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
Combien tu as multiplié ta miséricorde, ô mon Dieu! à l'ombre de tes ailes, les fils des hommes espéreront.
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
Ils s'enivreront de l'abondance de ta demeure; tu les abreuveras du torrent de tes délices.
9 For with thee [is] the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Car en toi est la fontaine de vie; et dans ta lumière nous verrons la lumière.
10 O continue thy loving-kindness to them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Étends ta miséricorde sur ceux qui te connaissent, et ta justice sur les hommes au cœur droit.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
Que le pied de l'orgueil ne vienne point jusqu'à moi; que la main du pécheur ne m'ébranle jamais.
12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
Là sont tombés les ouvriers d'iniquité; ils ont été repoussés, et ils n'ont pu se tenir debout.
