Psalms 28

1 [A Psalm] of David. To thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, [if] thou shouldst be silent to me, I should become like them that go down into the pit.

De David. C’est vers toi, Yahweh, que je crie; mon rocher, ne reste pas sourd à ma voix, de peur que, si tu gardes le silence, je ne ressemble à ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.

2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry to thee, when I lift my hands towards thy holy oracle.

Ecoute la voix de mes supplications, quand je crie vers toi, quand j’élève mes mains vers ton saint sanctuaire.

3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief [is] in their hearts.

Ne m’emporte pas avec les méchants et les artisans d’iniquité, qui parlent de paix à leur prochain, et qui ont la malice dans le cœur.

4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

Rends-leur selon leurs œuvres, et selon la malice de leurs actions; rends-leur selon l’ouvrage de leurs mains, donne-leur le salaire qu’ils méritent.

5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he will destroy them, and not build them up.

Car ils ne prennent pas garde aux œuvres de Yahweh, à l’ouvrage de ses mains: il les détruira et ne les bâtira pas.

6 Blessed [be] the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

Béni soit Yahweh, car il a entendu la voix de mes supplications!

7 The LORD [is] my strength, and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Yahweh est ma force et mon bouclier; en lui s’est confié mon cœur. J’ai été secouru; aussi mon cœur est dans l’allégresse, et je le louerai par mes cantiques.

8 The LORD [is] their strength, and he [is] the saving strength of his anointed.

Yahweh est la force de son peuple, il est une forteresse de salut pour son Oint.

9 Save thy people, and bless thy inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

Sauve ton peuple et bénis ton héritage! Sois leur pasteur et porte-les à jamais!
