< Psalms 18 >

1 To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David, the servant of the LORD, who spoke to the LORD the words of this song in the day [that] the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ. Awurade akoa Dawid dwom. Ɔtoo saa dwom yi maa Awurade, ɛberɛ a ɔgyee no firii nʼatamfoɔ nyinaa ne Saulo nsam no. Medɔ wo, Ao Awurade, mʼahoɔden.
2 The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower.
Awurade ne me botantim; mʼaban ne me gyefoɔ; me Onyankopɔn ne me botan Ne mu na menya me hintabea. Ɔyɛ mʼakokyɛm, me nkwagyeɛ abɛn ne mʼabandenden.
3 I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies.
Mesu frɛ Awurade; ɔno na ayɛyie sɛ no, ɛfiri sɛ ɔgye me firi mʼatamfoɔ nsam.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
Owuo nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn kyekyeree me; na ɔsɛeɛ asorɔkye bu faa me so.
5 The sorrows of hell encompassed me: the snares of death seized me. (Sheol h7585)
Damena nhoma kyekyeree me; owuo ankasa too me anihaa. (Sheol h7585)
6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, [even] into his ears.
Mʼahohia mu, mesu mefrɛɛ Awurade. Mesu mefrɛɛ me Onyankopɔn pɛɛ mmoa. Ɔfiri nʼasɔrefie hɔ tee me nne; me sufrɛ baa nʼanim, na ɛkɔɔ nʼasom.
7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.
Asase wosoeɛ na ɛhinhimeɛ, na mmepɔ fapem wosoeɛ wɔsuroeɛ ɛfiri sɛ na ne bo afu.
8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
Wisie firii ne hwene mu; ogyaframa firii nʼanom, na egyasramma dɛre firii mu.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness [was] under his feet.
Ɔfirii ɔsoro baa fam; na omununkum kabii duruu ne nan ase.
10 And he rode upon a cherub, and flew; yes, he flew upon the wings of the wind.
Ɔte Kerubim so tu kɔɔ soro; gyaagyaa ne ho wɔ mframa ntaban so.
11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion around him [were] dark waters [and] thick clouds of the skies.
Ɔde sum kataa ne ho, osu a amuna tumm atwa ne ho ahyia.
12 At the brightness [that was] before him his thick clouds passed, hail [stones] and coals of fire.
Hann kɛseɛ hyerɛn wɔ nʼanim, na omununkum a asukɔtweaa ne anyinam wɔ mu firii ne ho hyerɛn mu baeɛ.
13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail [stones] and coals of fire.
Awurade bobɔɔ mu firii soro; Ɔsorosoroni no nne gyegyeeɛ bio.
14 Yes, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.
Ɔtoo ne bɛmma no de bɔɔ atamfoɔ no hweteeɛ, ɔde anyinam a ano yɛn den pamoo wɔn.
15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were uncovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
Ɛpo mu mmɔnka ho yiyiiɛ na asase nnyinasoɔ ho daa hɔ, ɛsiane wʼanimka ne ahomeguo a ɛfiri wo hwene mu no enti, Ao Awurade.
16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
Ɔfiri ɔsoro baa ɛfam bɛsɔɔ me mu; ɔtwee me firii nsuo a emu dɔ mu.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them who hated me: for they were too strong for me.
Ɔgyee me firii me ɔtamfoɔ hoɔdenfoɔ nsam, wɔn a wɔn ani sa me, na wɔn ho yɛ den dodo ma me no.
18 They attacked me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
Wɔbaa me so wɔ mʼamanehunu da mu, nanso Awurade pagyaa me.
19 He brought me forth also in a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
Ɔde me baa baabi a ɛhɔ trɛ; ɔgyee me, ɛfiri sɛ nʼani sɔɔ me.
20 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
Awurade ne me adi no sɛdeɛ me tenenee teɛ; wahwɛ me nsa a ɛho teɛ so atua me ka.
21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
Manante Awurade akwan so. Mentwee me ho mfirii me Onyankopɔn ho nkɔyɛɛ bɔne.
22 For all his judgments [were] before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.
Madi ne mmara nyinaa so: memmuu nʼahyɛdeɛ so.
23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.
Me ho nni asɛm wɔ Onyankopɔn anim, na matwe me ho afiri bɔne ho.
24 Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
Awurade agyina me teneneeyɛ ne me nsa a ɛho teɛ wɔ nʼanim so atua me ka.
25 With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt show thyself upright;
Woda wo ho adi sɛ ɔnokwafoɔ kyerɛ wɔn a wɔdi nokorɛ, wɔn a wɔdi mu nso wo kyerɛ wɔn sɛ wodi mu.
26 With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt contend.
Woyɛ kronn ma wɔn a wɔyɛ kronn, na amumuyɛfoɔ deɛ, wokyiri wɔn.
27 For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
Wogye ahobrɛasefoɔ nkwa, na wobrɛ ahantanfoɔ ase.
28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
Ao Awurade, woyɛ me kanea. Aane, woma me sum dane hann.
29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
Wʼahoɔden a wode ma me enti, metumi ka akodɔm gu; me Onyankopɔn enti, metumi foro ɔfasuo.
30 [As for] God, his way [is] perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he [is] a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Onyankopɔn deɛ, nʼakwan yɛ pɛ; Awurade bɔhyɛ nyinaa ba mu. Ɔyɛ akokyɛm ma wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ banbɔ wɔ ne mu.
31 For who [is] God save the LORD? or who [is] a rock save our God?
Na hwan na ɔyɛ Onyankopɔn ka Awurade ho? Na hwan na ɔyɛ Ɔbotan no, gye sɛ yɛn Onyankopɔn no.
32 [It is] God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
Ɛyɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔma me ahoɔden, na ɔma me kwan yɛ pɛ.
33 He maketh my feet like hinds' [feet], and setteth me upon my high places.
Ɔma mʼanammɔn ho yɛ hare sɛ ɔforoteɛ deɛ. Ɔma me gyina sorɔnsorɔmmea.
34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by my arms.
Ɔsiesie me ma ɔko, na mʼabasa tumi kuntunu kɔbere mfrafraeɛ tadua.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath held me up and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Wode wo nkonimdie akokyɛm ma me, na wo nsa nifa kura me. Wobrɛ wo ho ase ma meyɛ kɛseɛ.
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.
Woabɔ ɛkwan tɛtrɛɛ ama me nan sɛdeɛ ɛrenwatiri.
37 I have pursued my enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
Metaa mʼatamfoɔ kɔtoo wɔn; mansane mʼakyi kɔsii sɛ mesɛee wɔn.
38 I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they have fallen under my feet.
Mɛdwerɛ wɔn, na wɔantumi ansɔre, wɔhwehwee ase wɔ me nan ase.
39 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
Wode akodie ahoɔden maa me; womaa mʼatamfoɔ bɔɔ wɔn mu ase wɔ me nan ase.
40 Thou hast also given me the necks of my enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
Womaa mʼatamfoɔ danee wɔn ho dwaneeɛ, na mesɛe wɔn a wɔtan me.
41 They cried, but [there was] none to save [them]: [even] to the LORD, but he answered them not.
Wɔsu pɛɛ mmoa, nanso obiara ammɛgye wɔn, wɔfrɛɛ Awurade, nanso wammua.
42 Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
Meyamoo wɔn sɛ mfuturo a mframa bɔ guo; me hwiee wɔn guiɛ sɛ mmɔntene so atɛkyɛ.
43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; [and] thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people [whom] I have not known shall serve me.
Woagye me afiri nnipa no ntohyɛsoɔ mu, woayɛ me amanaman no ti; nnipa a mennim wɔn abɛyɛ mʼasomfoɔ.
44 As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves to me.
Wɔte me nka pɛ a, wɔyɛ ɔsetie ma me; ananafoɔ koto mʼanim.
45 The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid from their close places.
Wɔn nyinaa botoboto; wɔfiri wɔn abandenden mu ba ahopopoɔ so.
46 The LORD liveth; and blessed [be] my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
Awurade te ase! Ayɛyi nka me Botan! Wɔmma Onyankopɔn me Gyefoɔ no din so!
47 [It is] God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.
Ɔno ne Onyankopɔn a ɔtɔ awere ma me, ɔno na ɔka amanaman hyɛ mʼase,
48 He delivereth me from my enemies: yes, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
ɔno na ɔgye me firi mʼatamfoɔ nsam. Wopagyaa me sii mʼatamfoɔ so, wogyee me firii basabasayɛfoɔ nsam.
49 Therefore will I give thanks to thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises to thy name.
Ɛno enti, mɛkamfo wo wɔ amanaman mu, Ao Awurade. Mɛto ayɛyie dwom ama wo din.
50 He giveth great deliverance to his king; and showeth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for ever.
Wode nkonimdie akɛseɛ ama wo ɔhene; woda ɔdɔ a ɛnsa da adi kyerɛ deɛ woasra no ngo, wode kyerɛ Dawid, ne nʼasefoɔ afebɔɔ.
