< Psalms 18 >

1 To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David, the servant of the LORD, who spoke to the LORD the words of this song in the day [that] the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

2 The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower.

3 I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies.

4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
Due patawnae ni na kalup, Cathut takihoehnae tuikalen ni na taki sak.
5 The sorrows of hell encompassed me: the snares of death seized me. (Sheol h7585)

6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, [even] into his ears.

7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness [was] under his feet.
Ama ni kalvan a kamkuisak teh, a kum cathuk. A khok rahim vah hmonae teh ao.
10 And he rode upon a cherub, and flew; yes, he flew upon the wings of the wind.
Cherub a kâcui teh a kamleng. Kahlî rathei van vah a kamleng.
11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion around him [were] dark waters [and] thick clouds of the skies.
Hmonae teh ka dungpoung e hmuen lah a coung sak. Tui hmonae hoi kathapoung e kalvan tâmai hah ama kangangkung lah ao.
12 At the brightness [that was] before him his thick clouds passed, hail [stones] and coals of fire.
A hmalae angnae ni, kathapoung e tâmai a kâhin sak teh, roun hoi hmaisaan a bo.
13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail [stones] and coals of fire.
BAWIPA ni kalvan hoi khoparit sak, A Lathueng Poung Cathut ni a lawk a tâcosak.
14 Yes, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.
A lipala hah a pathui teh, a taran hah a pâyaw sak. Sumpa a palik sak teh, koung a tâ.
15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were uncovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
Oe BAWIPA, na yuenae hoi na hnawng dawk e kâha ni a hmu dawkvah, talî laheipadin teh koung a kamnue teh, talaivan e dunaw teh a kamnue awh.
16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
Lathueng hoi na kut na dâw teh, moikapap e tui thung hoi na rasa toe.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them who hated me: for they were too strong for me.
A thakaawmpounge ka taran kut dawk hoi na rungngang teh, na ka hmuhma ni teh athakaawmpounge naw koehoi haiyah na rungngang.
18 They attacked me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
Ahnimouh ni runae ka kâhmo navah, na kangdue sin awh. Hatei, BAWIPA teh ka kâuep e doeh.
19 He brought me forth also in a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
A hmuen kaw poung koe kai hah na thak. Kai dawk a lunghawi dawkvah, na rungngang.
20 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
BAWIPA ni, ka lannae patetlah aphu na poe. Ka kut a thoung e patetlah na patho toe.
21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA e lamthung hah ka pâkuem teh, ka Cathut teh kahawihoeh lahoi ka cettakhai boihoeh.
22 For all his judgments [were] before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, a lawkcengnae pueng teh ka hmalah ao teh, a coungnae hah ka tâkhawng boihoeh.
23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.
A hmaitung toun awm laipalah ka o teh, payonnae hah ka roun.
24 Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
Hatdawkvah, BAWIPA ni ka lannae patetlah na patho. A mithmu ka thoungnae patetlah na patho.
25 With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt show thyself upright;
Tami ka pahren e koe pahrennae na kamnue sak vaiteh, tamikalan koe lannae hah na kamnue sak han.
26 With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt contend.
Tami kathoung koe na thoungnae na kamnue sak vaiteh, tami ka taran e koe tarannae hah na kamnue sak han.
27 For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, kârahnoumnaw hah, na rungngang teh, kâoupnaw hah na pabo han.
28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
Ka hmaiim hah na ang sak teh, BAWIPA ka Cathut ni kaie hmonae hah a ang sak han.
29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
Nang pawlawk lahoi ransahu hah ka raphoe han. Ka Cathut pawlawk lahoi khorapan ka kawi thai han.
30 [As for] God, his way [is] perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he [is] a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Cathut e lamthung teh a kuep. BAWIPA e lawk teh a thoung dawkvah, Ama kâuep e tami pueng hanelah bahling lah ao.
31 For who [is] God save the LORD? or who [is] a rock save our God?
Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA laipateh, bangpatet e Cathut alouke maw kaawm.
32 [It is] God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
Thaonae hoi na kapathoupkung teh Cathut doeh. Ka lamthung hai a kuep sak.
33 He maketh my feet like hinds' [feet], and setteth me upon my high places.
Ama ni ka khok heh sayuk khok patetlah a sak teh, a hmuen rasangnae koe na o sak.
34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by my arms.
Ka kut heh tarantuknae a cangkhai. Hatdawkvah, ka kut ni rahum licung patenghai a sawn thai.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath held me up and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Na rungngangnae bahling hai na poe toe. Aranglae kut hoi na kuet, na panguepnae ni na tawmdawm.
36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.
Ka ceinae lamthung na kaw sak dawkvah, tâlaw laipalah ka o.
37 I have pursued my enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
Ka taran ka pâlei teh ka pha. Koung ka raphoe hoehroukrak ka ban takhai boihoeh.
38 I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they have fallen under my feet.
Bout a thaw thai hoeh nahanelah, hmâ ka paca teh, ka khok rahim koung a rawp awh.
39 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
Tarantuk hanelah na pathoup toung dawkvah, na katarankung teh ka rahim vah tâ lah ao.
40 Thou hast also given me the necks of my enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
Ka taran teh na yawng sak. Hottelah na kahmuhmanaw heh ka raphoe.
41 They cried, but [there was] none to save [them]: [even] to the LORD, but he answered them not.
Ahnimouh teh a hram awh. Hatei, ahnimouh rungngangkung awm hoeh. BAWIPA koe a hram awh ei, pato hoeh.
42 Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
Hottelah, vaiphu kahlî ni a palek e patetlah dikkaneng lah ka nep teh, lamthung dawk e songnawng patetlah ka tâkhawng.
43 Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; [and] thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people [whom] I have not known shall serve me.
Ka yonnaw thung hoi na rungngang teh, miphunnaw e lû lah na coung sak. Ka panue hoeh e naw ni ka thaw a tawk awh han.
44 As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves to me.
Ka lawk a thai awh tahma vah, a tarawi awh teh, ramlouk taminaw hai kai koe a kâhei awh.
45 The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid from their close places.
Ramlouk taminaw teh koung a yawng awh teh, a kâhronae hmuen koehoi, taki laihoi a tâco awh.
46 The LORD liveth; and blessed [be] my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
BAWIPA teh a hring. Kaie lungsong teh pholen lah awm seh. Kaie rungngangnae Cathut teh tawm lah awm seh.
47 [It is] God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.
Cathut teh moipathung pouh kung lah ao teh, ka rahim e taminaw katâkung lah ao.
48 He delivereth me from my enemies: yes, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
Ka tarannaw koehoi na rungngang teh, na katarankungnaw lathueng vah, na tawm. Rektapnaw kut dawk hoi na rungngang.
49 Therefore will I give thanks to thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises to thy name.
Hatdawkvah BAWIPA, Jentelnaw rahak vah, nang koe lunghawilawk ka dei vaiteh, na min pholen hoi la ka sak han.
50 He giveth great deliverance to his king; and showeth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for ever.
A siangpahrang koevah, ka len e hloutnae a poe teh, satui awi e Devit hoi, a catounnaw lathueng vah, a yungyoe hoi a lungmanae a kamnue sak.
