Psalms 17
1 A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend to my cry, give ear to my prayer, [that goeth] not out of feigned lips.
Uma Oração de David. Ouça, Yahweh, meu justo apelo. Dê ouvidos à minha oração que não saia de lábios enganosos.
2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thy eyes behold the things that are equal.
Let minha frase sai de sua presença. Deixe que seus olhos olhem para a equidade.
3 Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited [me] in the night; thou hast tried me, [and] shalt find nothing; I have purposed [that] my mouth shall not transgress.
Você provou meu coração. Você me visitou durante a noite. Você já me tentou e não encontrou nada. Resolvi que minha boca não deve desobedecer.
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept [me from] the paths of the destroyer.
Quanto aos atos dos homens, pela palavra de seus lábios, Eu me mantive longe dos caminhos da violência.
5 Uphold my goings in thy paths, [that] my footsteps slip not.
Meus passos se mantiveram firmes em seus caminhos. Meus pés não escorregaram.
6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thy ear to me, [and hear] my speech.
Eu o chamei, pois me responderá, Deus. Vire seu ouvido para mim. Ouça meu discurso.
7 Show thy wonderful loving-kindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them who put their trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them].
Mostre sua maravilhosa gentileza amorosa, você que salva aqueles que se refugiam por sua mão direita de seus inimigos.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shade of thy wings.
Mantenha-me como a maçã de seu olho. Esconda-me sob a sombra de suas asas,
9 From the wicked that oppress me, [from] my deadly enemies, [who] encompass me,
dos ímpios que me oprimem, meus inimigos mortais, que me cercam.
10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
Eles fecham seus corações insensíveis. Com a boca eles falam com orgulho.
11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;
Eles agora nos cercaram em nossos passos. Eles colocaram seus olhos para nos lançar para a terra.
12 Like as a lion [that] is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
Ele é como um leão ganancioso de suas presas, como se fosse um jovem leão escondido em lugares secretos.
13 Arise, O LORD disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, [who is] thy sword:
Levanta-te, Yahweh, confronta-o. Lance-o para baixo. Liberta minha alma dos ímpios por tua espada,
14 From men [who are] thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, [who have] their portion in [this] life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure]: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their babes.
de homens por sua mão, Yahweh, de homens do mundo, cuja porção está nesta vida. Você enche a barriga de seus queridos. Seus filhos têm muito, e eles armazenam riqueza para seus filhos.
15 As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
Quanto a mim, verei seu rosto em retidão. Ficarei satisfeito, quando acordar, em ver sua forma.
