Psalms 16
1 Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
Un poème de David. Préserve-moi, Dieu, car je me réfugie en toi.
2 [O my soul], thou hast said to the LORD, Thou [art] my LORD: my goodness [extendeth] not to thee;
Mon âme, tu as dit à Yahvé: « Tu es mon Seigneur ». En dehors de toi, je n'ai rien de bon. »
3 [But] to the saints that [are] in the earth, and [to] the excellent, in whom [is] all my delight.
Quant aux saints qui sont sur la terre, ils sont les excellents en qui est toute ma joie.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied [that] hasten [after] another [god]: their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take their names into my lips.
Leurs peines seront multipliées, eux qui font des dons à un autre dieu. Je n'offrirai pas leurs libations de sang, ni porter leurs noms sur mes lèvres.
5 The LORD [is] the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
Yahvé m'a assigné ma part et ma coupe. Vous avez sécurisé mon sort.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant [places]; yes, I have a goodly heritage.
Les lignes me sont tombées dessus dans des endroits agréables. Oui, j'ai un bon héritage.
7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night season.
Je bénirai Yahvé, qui m'a donné des conseils. Oui, mon cœur m'instruit dans les saisons nocturnes.
8 I have set the LORD always before me: because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Je place toujours Yahvé devant moi. Parce qu'il est à ma droite, je ne serai pas ébranlé.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
C'est pourquoi mon cœur se réjouit, et ma langue se réjouit. Mon corps aussi sera en sécurité.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thy Holy One to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
Car tu ne laisseras pas mon âme dans le séjour des morts, vous ne permettrez pas non plus à votre saint de voir la corruption. (Sheol h7585)
11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fullness of joy; at thy right hand [are] pleasures for evermore.
Tu me montreras le chemin de la vie. En ta présence, c'est la plénitude de la joie. Dans ta main droite, il y a des plaisirs pour toujours.
