< Psalms 140 >
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
Dāvida dziesma, dziedātāju vadonim. Izglāb mani, Kungs, no ļauniem cilvēkiem, izrauj mani no varas darītājiem,
2 Who imagine mischiefs in [their] heart; continually are they assembled [for] war.
Kas ļaunu domā savā sirdī, kas ikdienas saceļ karu.
3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adder's poison [is] under their lips. (Selah)
Tie trin savu mēli kā čūska, odžu dzelonis ir apakš viņu lūpām. (Sela)
4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
Pasargi mani, Kungs, no bezdievīgo rokām, izglāb mani no varas darītājiem, kas domā nostumt manas kājas.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the way side: they have set gins for me. (Selah)
Tie lepnie man liek valgus un virves, tie man izpleš tīklu ceļmalā un liek man slazdus. (Sela)
6 I said to the LORD, Thou [art] my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
Es saku uz To Kungu: Tu esi mans Dievs, klausies, ak Kungs, uz manas sirds lūgšanas balsi.
7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
Kungs, Dievs, mans stiprais Pestītājs, Tu apsedz manu galvu kaušanas laikā.
8 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; [lest] they exalt themselves. (Selah)
Nedod, ak Kungs, tam bezdievīgam, ko viņš kāro, un lai viņa padoms neizdodas, jo tie greznojās. (Sela)
9 [As for] the head of those that encompass me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
Tiem, kas ap mani metās, lai nāk uz viņu galvu tā nelaime, par ko tie runā.
10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not again.
Degošas ogles lai krīt uz tiem. Viņš tos gāzīs ugunī, dziļās bedrēs, ka tie vairs necelsies.
11 Let not an evil speaker be established on the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow [him].
Lielmutis nepastāvēs virs zemes, nelaime varmāku vajās un trieks.
12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, [and] the right of the poor.
Es zinu, ka Tas Kungs iztiesās nabaga lietas un bēdīgā tiesu.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
Tiešām, taisnie Tavam vārdam pateiksies, sirdsskaidrie pastāvēs Tavā priekšā.
