< Psalms 139 >
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known [me].
Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo. Dawid dwom. Awurade, woahwehwɛ me mu na woahu me.
2 Thou knowest my down-sitting and my up rising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Wunim mʼasetena ne me sɔre; wufi akyirikyiri hu mʼadwene mu.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted [with] all my ways.
Wunim mʼadifi ne me nnae mu; wunim mʼakwan nyinaa mu.
4 For [there is] not a word on my tongue, [but] lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Ansa na mebue mʼano akasa no Awurade, na wunim ne nyinaa dedaw.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thy hand upon me.
Woakata me ho nyinaa ahyia na wobɔ me ho ban.
6 [Such] knowledge [is] too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot [attain] to it.
Saa nimdeɛ yi yɛ me nwonwa dodo, ɛkɔ soro dodo ma me sɛ medu ho.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
Ɛhe na metumi afi wo honhom anim akɔ? Ɛhe na metumi aguan afi wʼanim akɔ?
8 If I ascend into heaven, thou [art] there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou [art there]. (Sheol )
Sɛ meforo soro a, wowɔ hɔ. Na mekɔsɛw me kɛtɛ wɔ asaman a, wo ni. (Sheol )
9 [If] I take the wings of the morning, [and] dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Sɛ mede adekyee ntaban tu na mekɔtena po akyi nohɔ a,
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
mpo hɔ na wo nsa begya me akɔ, na wo nsa nifa beso me mu.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
Na meka se, “Ampa ara sum mmɛkata me so na hann nnan adesae ntwa me ho nhyia a,”
12 Yes, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light [are] both alike [to thee].
sum mpo nyɛ sum mma wo; na anadwo bɛhyerɛn sɛ awia; sum ne hann yɛ wo pɛ.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
Na wo na wobɔɔ me honhom wonwen me wɔ me na awotwaa mu.
14 I will praise thee: for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: wonderful [are] thy works; and [that] my soul well knoweth.
Mekamfo wo, efisɛ woyɛɛ me anwonwakwan so a ɛyɛ hu; wo nnwuma yɛ nwonwa. Minim ɛno yiye pa ara.
15 My substance was not hid from thee when I was made in secret, [and] curiously formed in the lowest parts of the earth.
Wɔamfa me bɔbea anhintaw wo bere a wɔyɛɛ me kokoa mu no; bere a wɔnwenee me wɔ asase bun mu no,
16 Thy eyes saw my substance, yet being imperfect; and in thy book all [my members] were written, [which] in continuance were fashioned, when [as yet there was] none of them.
wʼani huu me, bere a meyɛ mogyatɔw no. Nna dodow a woatwa ama me no, wɔakyerɛw ne nyinaa wɔ wo nhoma mu ansa na mu baako reba mu.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts to me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
Onyankopɔn, wo nsusuwii som bo ma me! woka ne nyinaa bɔ mu a, ɛtrɛw dodo!
18 [If] I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
Sɛ mise mɛkan a, ne dodow bɛboro mpoano nwea, sɛ minyan a, me ne wo wɔ hɔ ara.
19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
Sɛ anka, Onyankopɔn, wubekunkum amumɔyɛfo ɛ! Mumfi me so, mo a moyɛ mogyapɛfo!
20 For they speak against thee wickedly, [and] thy enemies take [thy name] in vain.
Wɔde adwemmɔne ka wo ho asɛm; wʼatamfo mmmɔ wo din pa.
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
Awurade, metan wɔn a wɔtan wo, na mikyi wɔn a wɔsɔre tia wo no ana?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them my enemies.
Minni hwee sɛ ɔtan a mewɔ ma wɔn; mefa wɔn sɛ mʼatamfo.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts:
Hwehwɛ me mu, Onyankopɔn, na hu me koma; sɔ me hwɛ, na hu mʼadwene.
24 And see if [there is any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Hwɛ sɛ bɔne bi wɔ me mu a, na di mʼanim fa daa nkwa kwan so.
