Psalms 135
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise [him], O ye servants of the LORD.
Alléluiah! Louez le Seigneur, ô vous qui êtes ses serviteurs; louez le Seigneur!
2 Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,
Vous qui vous tenez en sa maison, dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu,
3 Praise the LORD; for the LORD [is] good; sing praises to his name; for [it is] pleasant.
Louez le Seigneur, parce que le Seigneur est bon; chantez des psaumes à son nom, parce que son nom est beau.
4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob to himself, [and] Israel for his peculiar treasure.
Car le Seigneur a choisi Jacob pour être à lui Jacob, et Israël pour être sa possession.
5 For I know that the LORD [is] great, and [that] our LORD [is] above all gods.
Et moi j'ai reconnu que le Seigneur est grand, que notre Dieu est au- dessus de tous les dieux.
6 Whatever the LORD pleased, [that] did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
Tout ce que le Seigneur a voulu, il l'a fait; dans le ciel et sur la terre, et dans la mer, et dans tous les abîmes.
7 He causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.
Il amène les nuées des extrémités de la terre; il change les éclairs en pluie. C'est lui qui tire les vents de ses trésors.
8 Who smote the first-born of Egypt, both of man and beast.
C'est lui qui a frappé les premiers-nés d'Egypte, depuis l'homme jusqu'aux troupeaux;
9 [Who] sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
Lui qui a envoyé ses signes et ses prodiges au milieu de toi, Egypte, devant le Pharaon et tous ses serviteurs;
10 Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;
Lui qui a frappé maintes nations et tué des rois puissants:
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:
Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens et Og, roi de Basan, et tous les rois chananéens;
12 And gave their land [for] a heritage, a heritage to Israel his people.
Et qui a donné leur héritage en héritage à Israël, son peuple.
13 Thy name, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; [and] thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
Seigneur, ton nom est éternel, et ta mémoire passe de génération en génération.
14 For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent concerning his servants.
Car le Seigneur jugera son peuple, et il écoutera les prières de ses serviteurs.
15 The idols of the heathen [are] silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
Les idoles des Gentils sont argent et or, œuvres des mains des hommes.
16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not.
Elles ont une bouche, et ne parleront pas; elles ont des yeux, et ne verront pas.
17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there [any] breath in their mouths.
Elles ont des oreilles, et n'entendront pas [des narines, et ne sentent pas, des mains et ne touchent pas, des pieds et ne marchent pas, et il n'y a pas de voix dans leur gosier]; et il n'est point de souffle en leur bouche.
18 They that make them are like them: [so is] every one that trusteth in them.
Que ceux qui les font leur deviennent semblables, et tous ceux qui croient en elles.
19 Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:
Maison d'Israël, bénis le Seigneur; maison d'Aaron, bénis le Seigneur.
20 Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.
Maison de Lévi, bénis le Seigneur; vous qui craignez le Seigneur, bénissez le Seigneur.
21 Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
Béni soit le Seigneur en Sion, lui qui habite Jérusalem!
