Psalms 118
1 O give thanks to the LORD; for [he is] good: because his mercy [endureth] for ever.
Mshukuruni Yahwe, kwa kuwa ni mwema, kwa maana uaminifu wa agano lake wadumu milele.
2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy [endureth] for ever.
Israeli na aseme, “Uaminifu wa agano lake wadumu milele.”
3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy [endureth] for ever.
Nyumba ya Haruni na iseme, “Uaminifu wa agano lake wadumu milele.”
4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy [endureth] for ever.
Wafuasi waaminifu wa Yahwe na waseme, “Uaminifu wa agano lake wadumu milele.”
5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, [and set me] in a large place.
Katika dhiki yangu nilimuita Yahwe; Yahwe alinijibu na kuniweka huru.
6 The LORD [is] on my side; I will not fear: what can man do to me?
Yahwe yuko pamoja nami; sitaogopa; mwanadamu atanifanya nini? Yahwe yuko upande wangu kama msaidizi;
7 The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see [my desire] upon them that hate me.
nitawatazama kwa ushindi wale walio nichukia.
8 [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Ni bora kuwa na makazi katika Yahwe kuliko kumtumainia mwanadamu.
9 [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
Ni bora kukimbilia katika Yahwe kuliko kuamini katika wakuu.
10 All nations encompassed me: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.
Mataifa yote walinizunguka; kwa jina la Yahwe niliwakatilia mbali.
11 They encompassed me; yes, they encompassed me: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
Walinizunguka; naam, walinizunguka; kwa jina la Yahwe niliwakatilia mbali.
12 They encompassed me like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
Walinizunguka kama nyuki; walitoweka haraka kama moto kati ya miiba; kwa jina la Yahwe niliwakatilia mbali.
13 Thou hast violently thrust at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.
Walinishambulia ili waniangushe, lakini Yahwe alinisaidia.
14 The LORD [is] my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
Yahwe ni nguvu yangu na furaha yangu, na ndiye anaye niokoa.
15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation [is] in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
Kelele za ushindi zimesikika katika maskani ya wenye haki; mkono wa kuume wa Mungu umeshinda.
16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
Mkono wa kuume wa Mungu umetukuka; mkono wa kuume wa Yahwe umeshinda.
17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
Sitakufa, bali nitaishi na kuyatangaza matendo ya Yahwe.
18 The LORD hath chastened me severely: but he hath not given me over to death.
Yahwe ameniadhibu vikali; lakini hajaruhusu nife.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will enter them, [and] I will praise the LORD:
Unifungulie milango ya haki; nitaingia na nitamshukuru Yahwe.
20 This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
Hili ni lango la Yahwe; wenye haki hupitia kwalo.
21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
Nitakushukuru wewe, kwa kuwa ulinijibu, na umekuwa wokovu wangu.
22 The stone [which] the builders refused is become the head [stone] of the corner.
Jiwe ambalo wajenzi walilikataa wajenzi limekuwa msingi.
23 This is the LORD'S doing; it [is] wonderful in our eyes.
Yahwe ndiye afanyaye hili; ni la ajabu machoni petu.
24 This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Hii ni siku ambayo Yahwe ametenda; tutaifurahia na kuishangilia.
25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
Tafadhali, Yahwe, utupe ushindi! Tafadhali, Yahwe, utupe mafanikio!
26 Blessed [be] he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
Amebarikiwa yule ajaye katika jina la Yahwe; tunakubariki kutoka katika nyumba ya Yahwe.
27 God [is] the LORD, who hath shown us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, [even] to the horns of the altar.
Yahwe ni Mungu, na ametupa sisi nuru; ifungeni dhabihu kwa kamba pembeni mwa madhabahu.
28 Thou [art] my God, and I will praise thee: [thou art] my God, I will exalt thee.
Wewe ni Mungu wangu, nami nitakushukuru; wewe ni Mungu wangu; nitakutukuza wewe.
29 O give thanks to the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.
Oh, mshukuruni Yahwe; kwa kuwa ni mwema; kwa maana uaminifu wa agano lake wadumu milele.
