Psalms 115

1 Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to thy name give glory, for thy mercy, [and] for thy truth's sake.

Ne nam, oh Gospod, ne nam, temveč daj slavo svojemu imenu zaradi svojega usmiljenja in zaradi svoje resnice.

2 Why should the heathen say, Where [is] now their God?

Zakaj bi pogani govorili: »Kje je sedaj njihov Bog?«

3 But our God [is] in the heavens: he hath done whatever he pleased.

Toda naš Bog je v nebesih; storil je, karkoli mu ugaja.

4 Their idols [are] silver and gold; the work of men's hands.

Njihovi maliki so srebro in zlato, delo človeških rok.

5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

Imajo usta, toda ne govorijo; imajo oči, toda ne vidijo;

6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

imajo ušesa, toda ne slišijo; imajo nosove, toda ne duhajo,

7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

imajo roke, toda ne prijemajo; imajo stopala, toda ne hodijo niti ne govorijo skozi svoje grlo.

8 They that make them are like them; [so is] every one that trusteth in them.

Tisti, ki jih delajo, so jim podobni, tako je vsak, kdor zaupa vanje.

9 O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he [is] their help and their shield.

Oh Izrael, zaupaj v Gospoda; on je njihova pomoč in njihov ščit.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he [is] their help and their shield.

Oh hiša Aronova, zaupaj v Gospoda; on je njihova pomoč in njihov ščit.

11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he [is] their help and their shield.

Vi, ki se bojite Gospoda, zaupajte v Gospoda; on je njihova pomoč in njihov ščit.

12 The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless [us]; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

Gospod se nas zaveda; on nas bo blagoslovil, blagoslovil bo Izraelovo hišo, blagoslovil bo Aronovo hišo.

13 He will bless them that fear the LORD, [both] small and great.

Blagoslovil bo tiste, ki se bojijo Gospoda, tako male kakor velike.

14 The LORD will increase you more and more, you and your children.

Gospod vas bo bolj in bolj povečeval, vas in vaše otroke.

15 Ye [are] blessed of the LORD who made heaven and earth.

Vi ste blagoslovljeni od Gospoda, ki je naredil nebo in zemljo.

16 The heaven, [even] the heavens, [are] the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Nebesa, celó nebesa so Gospodova, toda zemljo je dal človeškim otrokom.

17 The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.

Mrtvi ne hvalijo Gospoda niti kdorkoli, ki gre dol v tišino.

18 But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for ever. Praise the LORD.

Toda mi bomo blagoslavljali Gospoda od tega časa dalje in na vékomaj. Hvalíte Gospoda.
