Psalms 111

1 Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with [my] whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and [in] the congregation.

Rühmet Jah! Ich will Jahwe von ganzem Herzen preisen im Kreise der Frommen und in der Gemeinde.

2 The works of the LORD [are] great, sought out by all them that have pleasure in them.

Groß sind die Werke Jahwes, der Erforschung wert für alle, die ihre Lust an ihnen haben.

3 His work [is] honorable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Majestät und Hoheit ist sein Thun, und seine Gerechtigkeit besteht für immer.

4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD [is] gracious and full of compassion.

Er hat ein Gedächtnis seiner Wunder gestiftet; gnädig und barmherzig ist Jahwe.

5 He hath given food to them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

Er hat denen, die ihn fürchten, Speise gegeben; er gedenkt auf ewig seines Bundes.

6 He hath shown his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

Die Macht seines Thuns hat er seinem Volke kund gethan, indem er ihnen das Besitztum der Heiden verlieh.

7 The works of his hands [are] verity and judgment; all his commandments [are] sure.

Das Thun seiner Hände ist Treue und Recht; zuverlässig sind alle seine Befehle,

8 They stand fast for ever and ever, [and are] done in truth and uprightness.

gestützt für immer, für ewig, ausgeführt in Treue und Redlichkeit.

9 He sent redemption to his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend [is] his name.

Er hat seinem Volk Erlösung gesandt, auf ewig seinen Bund bestellt: heilig und furchtbar ist sein Name!

10 The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever.

Die Furcht Jahwes ist der Weisheit Anfang; gute Einsicht wird allen, die sie üben. Sein Lobpreis besteht für immer.
