Psalms 101

1 A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and judgment: to thee, O LORD, will I sing.

Un psaume de David. Je chanterai la bonté et la justice. A toi, Yahvé, je chanterai des louanges.

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

Je veillerai à mener une vie irréprochable. Quand viendras-tu me voir? Je marcherai dans ma maison avec un cœur irréprochable.

3 I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Je ne mettrai pas de choses viles devant mes yeux. Je déteste les actes des hommes sans foi. Ils ne s'accrocheront pas à moi.

4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked [person].

Un cœur pervers sera loin de moi. Je ne veux rien avoir à faire avec le mal.

5 Whoever privily slandereth his neighbor, him will I cut off: him that hath a high look and a proud heart I will not suffer.

Je ferai taire celui qui calomnie secrètement son prochain. Je ne tolérerai pas celui qui est arrogant et prétentieux.

6 My eyes [shall be] upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

Mes yeux se porteront sur les fidèles du pays, pour qu'ils puissent habiter avec moi. Celui qui marche d'une manière parfaite, il me servira.

7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

Celui qui pratique la tromperie n'habitera pas dans ma maison. Celui qui dit des mensonges ne sera pas établi devant mes yeux.

8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all who practice wickedness from the city of the LORD.

Matin après matin, je détruirai tous les méchants du pays, pour exterminer de la cité de Yahvé tous les artisans de l'iniquité.
