Psalms 10
1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? [why] hidest thou [thyself] in times of trouble?
হে সদাপ্রভু, কেন তুমি দূরে আছ? সংকটকালে কেন তুমি নিজেকে লুকিয়ে রাখো?
2 The wicked in [his] pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
অহংকারে দুষ্ট ব্যক্তি দুর্বলকে শিকার করে, নিজের ছলনার জালে সে নিজেই ধরা পরে।
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, [whom] the LORD abhorreth.
সে নিজের অন্যায় মনোবাসনার গর্ব করে; লোভীকে প্রশংসা করে, কিন্তু সদাপ্রভুকে অপমান করে।
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek [after God]: God [is] not in all his thoughts.
অহংকারে দুষ্ট ব্যক্তি ঈশ্বরের অনুসন্ধান করে না; তার সব চিন্তায় ঈশ্বরের কোনও স্থান নেই।
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments [are] far above out of his sight: [as for] all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
তার পথ সর্বদা সফল হয়; সে তোমার বিধান অবজ্ঞা করে; সে তার সব শত্রুকে ব্যঙ্গ করে।
6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for [I shall] never [be] in adversity.
সে মনে মনে বলে, “আমাকে কোনও কিছুই বিচলিত করবে না।” সে শপথ করে, “কখনও কেউ আমার ক্ষতি করবে না।”
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue [is] mischief and vanity.
তার মুখ মিথ্যা ও হুমকিতে পূর্ণ; উপদ্রব ও অন্যায় তার জিভে লেগে রয়েছে।
8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
সে গ্রামের অদূরে লুকিয়ে অপেক্ষা করে; আড়াল থেকে নির্দোষকে হত্যা করে। গোপনে তার চোখ অসহায়দের অনুসন্ধান করে;
9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
সিংহ যেমন গুহায়, সে তেমন গোপনে ওৎ পেতে থাকে, অসহায়কে ধরবে বলে ওৎ পেতে থাকে; সে অসহায়কে ধরে তাকে টেনে নিজের জালে নিয়ে যায়।
10 He croucheth, [and] humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
সে নির্দোষদের চূর্ণ করে, আর তারা পতিত হয়; সেই ব্যক্তির শক্তিতে তারা ধরাশায়ী হয়।
11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see [it].
সে মনে মনে বলে, “ঈশ্বর কখনও লক্ষ্য করবেন না; তিনি মুখ ঢেকে থাকেন ও কখনও দেখেন না।”
12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thy hand: forget not the humble.
হে সদাপ্রভু, জাগ্রত হও, হে ঈশ্বর, তোমার হাত তোলো। অসহায়কে ভুলে যেয়ো না।
13 Why doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require [it].
দুষ্ট ব্যক্তি কেন ঈশ্বরের অপমান করে? কেন সে মনে মনে বলে, “তিনি আমার হিসেব চাইবেন না?”
14 Thou hast seen [it]; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite [it] with thy hand: the poor committeth himself to thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
কিন্তু তুমি, হে ঈশ্বর, পীড়িতদের কষ্ট সবই দেখো; তুমি তাদের দুর্দশা দেখো ও নিজের হাতে তার প্রতিকার করো। অসহায় মানুষ তোমারই শরণ নেয়; তুমিই অনাথের আশ্রয়।
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil [man]: seek out his wickedness [till] thou shalt find none.
দুষ্টলোকের হাত ভেঙে দাও; অনিষ্টকারীদের কাছে তাদের কাজের হিসেব চাও যতক্ষণ তার লেশমাত্র অবশিষ্ট না থাকে।
16 The LORD [is] King for ever and ever: the heathen have perished out of his land.
সদাপ্রভু নিত্যকালের রাজা; অধার্মিক জাতিরা তাঁর দেশ থেকে বিনষ্ট হবে।
17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thy ear to hear:
হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি পীড়িতদের মনোবাসনার কথা শোনো; তুমি তাদের উৎসাহিত করো এবং তাদের কাতর প্রার্থনা শোনো।
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
তুমি অনাথ ও পীড়িতদের প্রতি ন্যায়বিচার করবে, যেন সামান্য মানুষ আর কোনোদিন আঘাত না করতে পারে।
