Proverbs 8
1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
੧ਭਲਾ, ਬੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੀ? ਭਲਾ, ਸਮਝ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰਦੀ?
2 She standeth on the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
੨ਉਹ ਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਉੱਚੇ-ਉੱਚੇ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਤੇ ਚੌਰਾਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entrance of the doors.
੩ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ, ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਲਾਂਘਿਆਂ ਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਬੂਹਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਉਹ ਹਾਕ ਮਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ,
4 To you, O men, I call; and my voice [is] to the sons of man.
੪ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਦਮ ਵੰਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਹੈ!
5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
੫ਹੇ ਭੋਲਿਓ, ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰੀ ਸਿੱਖੋ, ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਤਰ ਬਣੋ!
6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips [shall be] right things.
੬ਸੁਣੋ, ਮੈਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਾਂਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੁੱਲ ਖਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਖੁੱਲਣਗੇ,
7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness [is] an abomination to my lips.
੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਸੱਚੋ-ਸੱਚ ਆਖੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਤਾਈ ਤੋਂ ਘਿਣ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
8 All the words of my mouth [are] in righteousness; [there is] nothing froward or perverse in them.
੮ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਟੇਢਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
9 They [are] all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
੯ਸਮਝ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਓਹ ਸੱਭੇ ਸਰਲ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਓਹ ਖਰੇ ਹਨ।
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
੧੦ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ, ਅਤੇ ਚੋਖੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰੋ,
11 For wisdom [is] better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
੧੧ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਬੁੱਧ ਹੀਰੇ ਮੋਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭੋ ਮਨੋਹਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਤੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ।
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of ingenious inventions.
੧੨ਮੈਂ ਬੁੱਧ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਤੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਭਾਲਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
13 The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
੧੩ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਭੈਅ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਘਮੰਡ, ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰੀ ਚਾਲ, ਪੁੱਠੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
14 Counsel [is] mine, and sound wisdom: I [am] understanding; I have strength.
੧੪ਮੱਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਮੇਰੀ ਹੈ, ਸਮਝ ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ, ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਹੈ।
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
੧੫ਰਾਜੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, [even] all the judges of the earth.
੧੬ਮੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸਰਦਾਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਲੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਪਤਵੰਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਿਆਈਂ ਵੀ।
17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
੧੭ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲਾਉਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਓਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਣਗੇ।
18 Riches and honor [are] with me; durable riches and righteousness.
੧੮ਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ, ਸਗੋਂ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਧਨ ਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਵੀ।
19 My fruit [is] better than gold, yes, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
੧੯ਮੇਰਾ ਫਲ ਸੋਨੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਚੋਖੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ।
20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment.
੨੦ਮੈਂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ,
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
੨੧ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਬਣਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਰ ਦੇਵਾਂ।
22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
੨੨ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਅਰੰਭ ਵਿੱਚ, ਸਗੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰਚਿਆ।
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
੨੩ਆਦ ਤੋਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ, ਮੁੱਢੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਠਹਿਰਾਈ ਗਈ।
24 When [there were] no depths, I was brought forth; when [there were] no fountains abounding with water.
੨੪ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਗਹਿਰੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ, ਜਦ ਵਗਦੇ ਸੋਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ, ਤਦ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ।
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth.
੨੫ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ।
26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
੨੬ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ, ਨਾ ਮੈਦਾਨ, ਨਾ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਧੂੜ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ।
27 When he prepared the heavens, I [was] there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
੨੭ਜਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਸਥਿਰ ਕੀਤੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਸੀ, ਜਦ ਗਹਿਰੇ ਸਾਗਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਮੰਡਲ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ।
28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
੨੮ਜਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਸਥਿਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਡੂੰਘਿਆਈ ਦੇ ਚਸ਼ਮੇ ਬਣਾਏ,
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
੨੯ਜਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਠਹਿਰਾਈਆਂ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪਾਣੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਠਹਿਰਾਈਆਂ,
30 Then I was by him, [as] one brought up [with him]: and I was daily [his] delight, rejoicing always before him;
੩੦ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਰਾਜ ਮਿਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ, ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਸੀ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ,
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights [were] with the sons of men.
੩੧ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਵਸਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
32 Now therefore hearken to me, O ye children: for blessed [are they that] keep my ways.
੩੨ਸੋ ਹੁਣ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੋ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਧੰਨ ਓਹ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
੩੩ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣੋ ਤੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਬਣੋ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਣਸੁਣੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
34 Blessed [is] the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
੩੪ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੂਹਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੁਗਾਠਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
35 For whoever findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor from the LORD.
੩੫ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ।
36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
੩੬ਪਰ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿੰਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ!
