< Proverbs 5 >

1 My son, attend to my wisdom, [and] bow thy ear to my understanding:
Nwa m, ṅaa ntị nʼokwu amamihe m, gee ntị nʼokwu nghọta m ndị a.
2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and [that] thy lips may keep knowledge.
Lezie anya, ka i debe izuzu dị iche iche, ka egbugbere ọnụ gị na-echebekwa ihe ọmụma.
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop [as] a honey-comb, and her mouth [is] smoother than oil:
Nʼihi na egbugbere ọnụ nwanyị na-akwa iko na-atọ ka mmanụ aṅụ, okwu ọnụ ya na-akwọ mụrụmụrụ karịa mmanụ.
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
Ma nʼikpeazụ, ọ na-elu ilu dịka oluilu dịkwa nkọ ka mma agha ihu abụọ.
5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. (Sheol h7585)
Ụkwụ ya abụọ na-arịdaru nʼọnwụ, nzọ ụkwụ ya abụọ na-eje nʼụzọ ọkụ ala mmụọ. (Sheol h7585)
6 Lest thou shouldst ponder the path of life, her ways are movable, [that] thou canst not know [them].
Nʼihi na ọ dịghị agbaso ụzọ kwesiri ndụ; ụzọ ya gbagọrọ agbagọ, ma ọ maghị nke a.
7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Ugbu a ụmụ m, geenụ m ntị, unu esikwala nʼokwu niile nke ọnụ m wezuga onwe unu.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
Gbaara nwanyị dị otu a ọsọ! Ejekwala ọnụ ụzọ ụlọ ya nso,
9 Lest thou give thy honor to others, and thy years to the cruel:
ka ị ghara ire ugwu gị nʼebe ndị ọzọ nọ, maọbụ were ndụ gị tinye nʼaka ndị na-enweghị obi ebere.
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labors [be] in the house of a stranger;
Ka ndị ọbịa ghara inwe oke oriri nʼelu akụ gị, ka ihe niile ị dọgburu onwe gị nʼọrụ ịkpata gharakwa imejupụta ụlọ onye ọzọ.
11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
Ka ị gharakwa ịsụ ude nʼikpeazụ mgbe ọrịa ga-eripịa ọkpụkpụ gị na anụ ahụ gị.
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
Mgbe ị ga-asị, Lee ka m si kpọọ ịdọ aka na ntị asị! “Leekwa ka obi m si lelịa iba mba anya!
13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me!
Egeghị m ntị nʼozizi nke ndị nkuzi m maọbụ nabata ndụmọdụ nke ndị ndụmọdụ m.
14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
Nʼihi na ugbu a, abịaruola m na mbibi nʼihu ọha mmadụ niile.”
15 Drink waters out of thy own cistern, and running waters out of thy own well.
Ṅụọ naanị mmiri nke si nʼite mmiri gị; mmiri dị mma nke si nʼolulu mmiri gị.
16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, [and] rivers of waters in the streets.
Gịnị mere ị ga-eji kwe ka isi mmiri gị sọọ nʼokporoụzọ, ka mmiri nke aka gị sọọ nʼama?
17 Let them be only thy own, and not for strangers with thee.
Kwee ka ha bụrụ nke naanị gị, nke onye ọbịa na-agaghị enwe oke nʼime ya.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
Kwere ka ịbụ nwoke gị bụrụ ngọzị nye gị; ṅụrịakwa ọṅụ nʼihi nwunye nke ị lụtara nʼokorobịa gị.
19 [Let her be as] the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
Nne anụ nke na-ahụ nʼanya, dịka ele mara mma, ka ara dị ya nʼobi zuore gị, ka ịhụnanya ya na-enye gị obi ụtọ mgbe ọbụla.
20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
Gịnị ka ị na-achọ nʼahụ nwanyị na-akwa iko? Gịnị mere i ji na-amaku nwunye onye ọzọ obi?
21 For the ways of man [are] before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị na-ele gị anya, ihe niile ị na-eme ka ọ na-ahụ.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.
Onye na-emebi iwu na-esite na mmehie ya laa onwe ya nʼiyi; mmehie ndị a bụ ụdọ nke na-ejide ya.
23 He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Ọ ga-anwụ nʼihi na ọ nabataghị ịdọ aka na ntị; ọ bụkwa nzuzu ya dufuru ya.
