Proverbs 29
1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
१जर एखाद्या मनुष्यावर खूप दोष असूनही, जो आपली मान ताठ करतो, तो अचानक तुटतो आणि त्यावर काही उपाय चालत नाही.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
२जेव्हा नीतिमानाची वाढ होते, लोक आनंदित होतात, पण जेव्हा दुर्जन अधिकार चालवतात तेव्हा लोक शोक करतात.
3 He that loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth [his] substance.
३ज्या कोणाला ज्ञानाची आवड आहे तो आपल्या पित्याला आनंदित करतो, पण जो कोणी वेश्येशी सोबत करतो तर तो आपल्या संपत्तीचा नाश करतो.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
४राजा न्यायाने देश दृढ करतो, पण जो कोणी लाचेची मागणी करतो तो त्याचे वाटोळे करतो.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbor spreadeth a net for his feet.
५जो कोणी मनुष्य आपल्या शेजाऱ्याची फाजील स्तुती करतो, तो त्याच्या पावलासाठी जाळे पसरतो.
6 In the transgression of an evil man [there is] a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
६दुष्ट मनुष्य आपल्या स्वतःच्या पापाने पाशात पडतो, पण नीतिमान गाणे गाऊन आनंदित होतो.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: [but] the wicked regardeth not to know [it].
७नीतिमान गरिबांच्या वादासाठी विनंती करतो; दुर्जनाला तो समजण्याची बुद्धी नसते.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise [men] turn away wrath.
८थट्टा करणारे शहराला पेटवतात; पण सुज्ञजन क्रोधापासून दूर निघून जातात.
9 [If] a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rageth or laugheth, [there is] no rest.
९जर सुज्ञ मनुष्याचा मूर्खाशी वाद असला तर, मुर्ख रागावला किंवा हसला तरी काही स्वस्थता नसते.
10 The blood-thirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
१०रक्तपिपासू सात्विकाचा द्वेष करतात, आणि सरळ मनुष्यास ठार मारण्यासाठी ते त्याचा शोध घेतात.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise [man] keepeth it in till afterwards.
११मूर्ख आपल्या मनातील सारा राग प्रगट करतो, पण शहाणा मनुष्य तो आवरून धरतो आणि शांत राहतो.
12 If a ruler hearkeneth to lies, all his servants [are] wicked.
१२जर अधिकाऱ्याने खोट्या गोष्टींकडे लक्ष दिले, तर त्याचे सगळे अधिकारी वाईट होतात.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD enlighteneth both their eyes.
१३गरीब मनुष्य आणि जुलूम करणारा या दोघांमध्ये एक गोष्ट समान आहे; परमेश्वर दोघांच्याही डोळ्यांना दृष्टी देतो.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
१४जर राजाने गरीबांचा न्याय सत्याने केला, तर त्याचे राजासन सर्वकाळ स्थापित होईल.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.
१५छडी आणि सुबोध ज्ञान देतात, पण मोकळे सोडलेले मूल आपल्या आईला लाज आणते.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
१६जेव्हा दुष्ट वाढतात, तेव्हा अपराध वाढतात; पण धार्मिकांना त्यांचे वतन पाहावयास मिळते.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yes, he shall give delight to thy soul.
१७आपल्या मुलाला शिस्त लाव आणि तो तुला विसावा देईल आणि तो तुझा जीव आनंदित करील.
18 Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.
१८जेथे कोठे भविष्यसूचक दृष्टांत न झाल्यास लोक अनावर होतात, पण जो कोणी नियम पाळतो तो सुखी होतो.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understandeth, he will not answer.
१९दास शब्दाने सुधारत नाही, कारण जरी त्यास समजले तरी तो प्रतिसाद देणार नाही.
20 Seest thou a man [that is] hasty in his words? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him.
२०कोणी आपल्या बोलण्यात उतावळा आहे अशा मनुष्यास पाहतोस काय? तर त्याच्यापेक्षा मूर्खाविषयी अधिक आशा आहे.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him at length become [his] son.
२१जर कोणी आपल्या दासास बालपणापासून लाडाने वाढवले तर त्याच्या शेवटी तो त्रासदायकच होईल.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
२२रागावलेला मनुष्य संकटे आणतो; आणि क्रोधी मनुष्याकडून पुष्कळ अपराध घडतात.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.
२३गर्व मनुष्यास खाली आणतो, पण जो कोणी विनम्र आत्म्याचा असतो त्याचा आदर होतो.
24 Whoever is partner with a thief, hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and discloseth [it] not.
२४जो कोणी चोराचा भागीदार होतो, तो स्वतःचाच शत्रू आहे; ते शपथेखाली ठेवले जातात आणि ते काहीच बोलू शकत नाही.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but he who putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
२५मनुष्याची भीती पाशरूप होते, पण जो कोणी परमेश्वरावर विश्वास ठेवतो तो सुरक्षित राहतो.
26 Many seek the ruler's favor; but [every] man's judgment [cometh] from the LORD.
२६पुष्कळजन अधिपतीची मर्जी संपादण्याचा शोध करतात, पण परमेश्वरच लोकांचा न्याय करतो.
27 An unjust man [is] an abomination to the just: and [he that is] upright in the way [is] abomination to the wicked.
२७अप्रामाणीक मनुष्याचा धार्मिकाला वीट येतो; आणि सरळमार्गी मनुष्याचा दुष्टाला वीट येतो.
