< Proverbs 29 >

1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
Ame si woka mo na zi gede gake wògbe lia kɔ la, atsrɔ̃ zi ɖeka kpata xɔnamemanɔŋutɔe.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Ne ame dzɔdzɔewo le dzi ɖum la, amewo dzɔa dzi; ke ne dziɖuɖu ge ɖe ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe asi me la, amewo ŋena.
3 He that loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth [his] substance.
Ame si lɔ̃a nunya la hea dzidzɔ vɛ na fofoa, ke ame si dze xɔ̃ gbolowo la gblẽa eƒe ga dome.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
To afia nyui tsotso me fia hea dedinɔnɔ vɛ na dukɔ, ke fia si klẽa ŋu ɖe zãnuxɔxɔ ŋu la gbãa du.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbor spreadeth a net for his feet.
Ame si do fuflugba na ehavi la le ɖɔ ɖom na eya ŋutɔ ƒe afɔ.
6 In the transgression of an evil man [there is] a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
Ame vɔ̃ɖi ƒe nu vɔ̃ denɛ mɔ me, ke ame dzɔdzɔe adzi ha atso aseye.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: [but] the wicked regardeth not to know [it].
Ame dzɔdzɔewo tsɔa ɖe le afiatsotso na hiãtɔwo me gake ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ya metsɔa ɖeke le eme o.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise [men] turn away wrath.
Fewuɖulawo dea ʋunyaʋunya du me, ke nunyalawo tsia dziku nu.
9 [If] a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rageth or laugheth, [there is] no rest.
Nunyala yi ʋɔnudrɔ̃ƒe kple bometsila, bometsila le adã fiam, le fewu ɖum eye ŋutifafa meli o.
10 The blood-thirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
Hlɔ̃dolawo lé fu ŋutsu nuteƒewɔla eye wodina be yewoawu dzi dzadzɛ tɔ.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise [man] keepeth it in till afterwards.
Bometsila ɖea eƒe dziku katã fiana, ke nunyala ɖua eɖokui dzi.
12 If a ruler hearkeneth to lies, all his servants [are] wicked.
Ne dziɖula ɖo to beblenyawo la, eƒe dɔnunɔlawo katã zua ŋutasẽlawo.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD enlighteneth both their eyes.
Nu ɖeka sia le hiãtɔ kple ameteɖetola siaa si, Yehowae wɔ ŋku na wo ame evea.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
Ne fia drɔ̃ ʋɔnu na hiãtɔ ɖe dzɔdzɔenyenye dzi la, eƒe fiazikpui anɔ dedie ɣe sia ɣi.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.
Ameƒoti si wotsɔna ɖɔa ame ɖoe la fiaa nunya ame, gake ɖevi si womehe o la dea ŋukpe mo na dadaa.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
Ne ame vɔ̃ɖiwo le dzi ɖum la, nu vɔ̃ hã dea dzi, ke ame dzɔdzɔewo akpɔ woƒe anyidzedze.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yes, he shall give delight to thy soul.
Ne èhe viwò ŋutsuvi la, ekema àkpɔ ŋutifafa eye wòahe dzidzɔ vɛ na wò luʋɔ.
18 Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.
Afi si ɖeɖefia mele o la, amewo wɔa woƒe lɔlɔ̃nu; ke woayra ame si léa sea me ɖe asi.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understandeth, he will not answer.
Numenya ɖeɖe mate ŋu aɖɔ dɔla ɖo o, togbɔ be ese egɔme hã la, mawɔ ɖe edzi o.
20 Seest thou a man [that is] hasty in his words? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him.
Èkpɔ ame si ƒoa nu blablablaa? Mɔkpɔkpɔ geɖe li na bometsila wu eya amea gɔ̃ hã.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him at length become [his] son.
Ne ŋutsu aɖe wɔ vi na eƒe subɔviŋutsu tso eƒe ɖevime la, ahe nuxaxa vɛ le nuwuwua.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
Ŋutsu dɔmedzoetɔ dea dzre amewo dome eye ame si doa dziku kabakaba la wɔa nu vɔ̃ geɖe.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Ŋutsu si dana la ɖua ŋukpe, ke wobua ŋutsu si bɔbɔa eɖokui ɖe anyi le gbɔgbɔ me.
24 Whoever is partner with a thief, hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and discloseth [it] not.
Ame si wɔ ɖeka kple fiafitɔ la nye eya ŋutɔ ƒe futɔ; wonana wòkaa atam eye mekpɔ mɔ akɔ nu le edzi o.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but he who putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Vɔvɔ̃ si le ame aɖe me lae nyea mɔ nɛ, ke ame si ka ɖe Yehowa dzi la nɔa dedie.
26 Many seek the ruler's favor; but [every] man's judgment [cometh] from the LORD.
Ame geɖewo dina be yewoado ɖe dziɖula ŋkume, aƒo nu kplii gake Yehowa gbɔ ame ƒe afiatsotso tsona.
27 An unjust man [is] an abomination to the just: and [he that is] upright in the way [is] abomination to the wicked.
Nu gbegblẽ wɔla nye ŋunyɔ na ame dzɔdzɔe eye nu dzɔdzɔe wɔla nye ŋunyɔ na ame vɔ̃ɖi.
