< Proverbs 29 >

1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Tamikalan ni kâtawnnae a tawn toteh tamimaya a konawm awh, hatei tamikathout ni a uk navah tamimaya a cingou awh.
3 He that loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth [his] substance.
Lungangnae ka ngai e ni a na pa a konawm sak, hatei kâyawt e hoi kamyawng e tami ni a hnopai koung a pâbaw.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
Siangpahrang ni lawkcengnae lahoi ram a caksak, hatei tadawnghno ni ram a rawk sak.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbor spreadeth a net for his feet.
A imri laithoe lahoi ka oup e teh a khok kâman nahanlah tamlawk a yangda pouh.
6 In the transgression of an evil man [there is] a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
Kâtapoenae ni tamikathout a man, hatei tamikalan teh la sak lahoi a lunghawi.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: [but] the wicked regardeth not to know [it].
Tamikalan ni tamimathoe hanlah a pouk, hatei tamikathout ni teh banglahai noutna hoeh.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise [men] turn away wrath.
Kadudamnaw ni khopui hmai a sawi, hatei tamilungkaang ni teh lungkhueknae a takhoe thai.
9 [If] a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rageth or laugheth, [there is] no rest.
Tamilungkaang ni tamipathu hoi kâyue pawiteh, tamipathu a panui hai thoseh, a lungphuen hai thoseh banglahai tho hoeh.
10 The blood-thirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
Tami kathetnaw ni tamikalan a hmuhma awh, tamikalan teh hawinae hah a tawng.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise [man] keepeth it in till afterwards.
Tamipathu ni a pouk e pueng hah a dei, hatei tamilungkaang ni teh a panguep.
12 If a ruler hearkeneth to lies, all his servants [are] wicked.
Ukkung ni laithoe dei e banghai nahoeh tet pawiteh, a sannaw pueng teh tamikathout lah koung a coung awh.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD enlighteneth both their eyes.
Tamimathoe hoi repcoungroenaw ni cungtalah a hmawng e teh, BAWIPA ni a mit reirei a ang sak.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
Atangcalah tamimathoe hanelah lawkcengkung siangpahrang teh, a bawitungkhung a yungyoe caksak lah ao han.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.
Bongpai hoi yuenae ni tami a lungangsak teh, ka pangak e camo ni a manu yeirai a po sak.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
Tamikathout apapnae koe kâtapoenae apap, hatei tamikalan ni a rawk awh e hah a hmu.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yes, he shall give delight to thy soul.
Na capa hah yue yaw lannae na poe han, hothloilah hring nawmnae na poe han.
18 Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.
Vision ohoehnae koe tami pueng a thathoe awh, hatei kâlawk ka tarawi e teh tami yawkahawi e doeh.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understandeth, he will not answer.
San teh lawk hoi dueng yue thai lah awm hoeh, bangkongtetpawiteh a thai eiteh tarawi laipalah ao thai.
20 Seest thou a man [that is] hasty in his words? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him.
Pouk laipalah lawk ka deirumram e ouk na hmu ou, hot patet e tami koe hlak teh tamipathu koe ngaihawine bet aohnawn.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him at length become [his] son.
Camo nah ekvoi pahren e san teh a cue torei teh calan e lah ao han.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
A lung ka khuek e ni kâyuenae a tâcokhai teh, ka matheng e ni kâtapoenae pou a tâcokhai.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Ma e kâoupnae ni na rahnoumsak han, hatei muitha lahoi kârahnoum e ni barinae a coe.
24 Whoever is partner with a thief, hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and discloseth [it] not.
Tamru hoi kamyawng e teh amae hringnae ka hmuhma e tami doeh, lawkkatang dei hanelah thoe a kâbo ei dei kalawn hoeh.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but he who putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Tami barinae ni karap patetlah na man, hatei BAWIPA kâuep e teh rungngang lah ao han.
26 Many seek the ruler's favor; but [every] man's judgment [cometh] from the LORD.
Tami kapap ni ukkungnaw e lungyouknae hah a tawng awh, hatei taminaw hanelah lawkcengnae teh BAWIPA koehoi doeh a tho.
27 An unjust man [is] an abomination to the just: and [he that is] upright in the way [is] abomination to the wicked.
Tamikalanhoehe teh tamikalan hanelah panuet a tho e patetlah, tamikalan teh tamikalanhoehnaw hanelah panuet a tho van.
