Proverbs 27
1 Boast not thyself of to-morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
೧ನಾಳೆ ಎಂದು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ, ಒಂದು ದಿನದೊಳಗೆ ಏನಾಗುವುದೋ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದು.
2 Let another man praise thee, and not thy own mouth; a stranger, and not thy own lips.
೨ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಹೊಗಳಿದರೆ ಹೊಗಳಲಿ, ಆತ್ಮಸ್ತುತಿ ಬೇಡ, ಪರನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದರೆ ಸ್ತುತಿಸಲಿ.
3 A stone [is] heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath [is] heavier than both.
೩ಕಲ್ಲು ಭಾರ, ಮರಳು ಭಾರ, ಎರಡಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಮೂಢನ ಕೋಪವು ಬಲು ಭಾರ.
4 Wrath [is] cruel, and anger [is] outrageous; but who [is] able to stand before envy?
೪ಕೋಪವು ಕ್ರೂರ, ಕ್ರೋಧವು ಪ್ರವಾಹ, ಮತ್ಸರಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಯಾರು ನಿಂತಾರು?
5 Open rebuke [is] better than secret love.
೫ಕಾರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರಪಡದ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಿಂತಲೂ, ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾದ ಗದರಿಕೆಯು ಲೇಸು.
6 Faithful [are] the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy [are] deceitful.
೬ಮಿತ್ರನು ಮಾಡುವ ಗಾಯಗಳು ಮೇಲಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ, ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ಮುದ್ದುಗಳು ಹೇರಳವಾಗಿವೆ.
7 The full soul lotheth a honey-comb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
೭ಹೊಟ್ಟೆತುಂಬಿದವನಿಗೆ ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪವೂ ಅಸಹ್ಯ, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಹಸಿದವನಿಗೆ ಕಹಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಿಹಿ.
8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so [is] a man that wandereth from his place.
೮ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅಲೆಯುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು, ಗೂಡನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅಲೆಯುವ ಹಕ್ಕಿಯ ಹಾಗೆ.
9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so [doth] the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
೯ತೈಲವೂ, ಸುಗಂಧದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳೂ ಹೇಗೋ, ಮಿತ್ರನ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಯಿಂದ ಅನುಭವಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಸ್ನೇಹರಸವು ಹಾಗೆ ಮನೋಹರ.
10 Thy own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: [for] better [is] a neighbor [that is] near, than a brother far off.
೧೦ನಿನಗೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೂ ಮಿತ್ರನಾದವನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಬೇಡ, ನಿನ್ನ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸದಿರು, ದೂರವಾಗಿರುವ ಅಣ್ಣನಿಗಿಂತ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಗಿರುವ ನೆರೆಯವನು ಲೇಸು.
11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.
೧೧ಮಗನೇ, ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿಸು, ಹಾಗಾದರೆ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದೂರುವವನಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಲಾಗುವುದು.
12 A prudent [man] foreseeth the evil, [and] hideth himself; [but] the simple pass on, [and] are punished.
೧೨ಜಾಣನು ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು, ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನು ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನಷ್ಟಪಡುವನು.
13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
೧೩ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಹೊಣೆಯಾದವನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೋ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಣೆಯಾದವನನ್ನೇ ಒತ್ತೆಮಾಡಿಕೋ.
14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
೧೪ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನನ್ನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೂಗಿನಿಂದ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವವನು, ಶಪಿಸುವವನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
೧೫ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಳೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಟತಟನೆ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಕ್ಕುವ ಹನಿ, ತಂಟೆಮಾಡುವ ಹೆಂಡತಿ, ಎರಡೂ ಒಂದೇ.
16 Whoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand [which] bewrayeth [itself].
೧೬ಅವಳನ್ನು ಅಡಗಿಸುವವನು ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಅಡಗಿಸುವನು, ಅವಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಬಲಗೈ ಜಿಡ್ಡಿನ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದು.
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
೧೭ಕಬ್ಬಿಣವು ಕಬ್ಬಿಣವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಹರಿತಮಾಡುವುದೋ, ಮಿತ್ರನು ಮಿತ್ರನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹರಿತಮಾಡುವನು.
18 He that keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit of it: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honored.
೧೮ಅಂಜೂರದ ಮರವನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವನು ಅದರ ಫಲವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವನು, ಯಜಮಾನನ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಸನ್ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವನು.
19 As in water face [answereth] to face, so the heart of man to man.
೧೯ನೀರು ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೃದಯವು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
೨೦ಪಾತಾಳಕ್ಕೂ, ನಾಶಲೋಕಕ್ಕೂ ಹೇಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಿಲ್ಲ. (Sheol h7585)
21 [As] the fining-pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so [is] a man to his praise.
೨೧ಪುಟಕುಲುಮೆಗಳಿಂದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಬಂಗಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಶೋಧನೆಯು ಹೇಗೋ, ಹೊಗಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಶೋಧನೆಯು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ.
22 Though thou shouldst bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, [yet] his foolishness will not depart from him.
೨೨ಗೋದಿರವೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮೂರ್ಖನನ್ನು ಒರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒನಕೆಯಿಂದ ಕುಟ್ಟಿದರೂ, ಮೂರ್ಖತನವು ಅವನಿಂದ ತೊಲಗದು.
23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, [and] look well to thy herds.
೨೩ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಂಡುಗಳ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರು, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಂದೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಡು.
24 For riches [are] not for ever: and doth the crown [endure] to every generation?
೨೪ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವಷ್ಟೆ, ಕಿರೀಟವು ತಲತಲಾಂತರಗಳ ವರೆಗೆ ನಿಂತೀತೋ?
25 The plant appeareth, and the tender grass showeth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
೨೫ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಸಿಹುಲ್ಲು ತಲೆದೋರುವುದು, ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ಸೊಪ್ಪನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಡುವರು.
26 The lambs [are] for thy clothing, and the goats [are] the price of the field.
೨೬ಕುರಿಗಳಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಉಡುಪಾಗುವುದು, ಆಡುಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊಲದ ಕ್ರಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವುದು.
27 And [thou shalt have] goats milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and [for] maintenance for thy maidens.
೨೭ನಿನ್ನ ಊಟಕ್ಕೂ, ಮನೆಯವರ ಆಹಾರಕ್ಕೂ ಮೇಕೆಯ ಹಾಲು ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟಾಗುವುದು, ಅದು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯರಿಗೆ ಜೀವನವಾಗುವುದು.
