Proverbs 26
1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest; so honor is not seemly for a fool.
ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಮದಂತೆಯೂ, ಸುಗ್ಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆಯಂತೆಯೂ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನಿಗೆ ಮಾನವು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ.
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
ಅಲೆದಾಡುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿಯಂತೆಯೂ, ಹಾರಾಡುವ ಬಾನಕ್ಕಿಯಂತೆಯೂ ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಶಾಪವು ತಗಲದು.
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.
ಕುದುರೆಗೆ ಬಾರುಗೋಲು, ಕತ್ತೆಗೆ ಕಡಿವಾಣವು, ಮೂಢನ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಬೆತ್ತ.
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like him.
ಮೂಢನ ಮೂರ್ಖತನಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಬೇಡ; ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ನೀನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾದೀಯೆ.
5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
ಮೂಢನ ಮೂರ್ಖತನಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡು; ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಾನು.
6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, [and] drinketh damage.
ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ಮೂಲಕ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಕಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so [is] a parable in the mouth of fools.
ಕುಂಟನ ಕಾಲುಗಳು ಜೋಲಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಯು ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
8 As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so [is] he that giveth honor to a fool.
ಮೂಢನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಮಾನವು ಕವಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಾಗೆ.
9 [As] a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so [is] a parable in the mouth of fools.
ಕುಡುಕನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳ್ಳು ಕೋಲಿನಂತೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನರ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಯು ಇರುವುದು.
10 The great [God] that formed all [things] both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
ಮೂಢರನ್ನೂ ದಾರಿಹೋಕರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ಕರೆಯುವವನು ಯಾರಿಗಾದರೂ ತಗಲಲಿ ಎಂದು ಬಾಣ ಎಸೆಯುವ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾರನಂತೆ.
11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, [so] a fool returneth to his folly.
ತಾನು ಕಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಯಿಯು ತಿರುಗುವಂತೆ ಮೂಢನು ತನ್ನ ಮೂಢತನಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him.
ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದವನನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯೋ? ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ ಮೂಢನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
13 The slothful [man] saith, [There is] a lion in the way; a lion [is] in the streets.
ಸೋಮಾರಿಯು, “ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಂಹವಿದೆ, ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭೀಕರ ಸಿಂಹ ಇದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
14 [As] the door turneth upon its hinges, so [doth] the slothful upon his bed.
ಬಾಗಿಲು ತಿರುಗುಣಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತದೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೋಮಾರಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಳಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
15 The slothful hideth [his] hand in [his] bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.
ಸೋಮಾರಿಯು ತಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ, ತಿರುಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ತರಲಾರದಷ್ಟು ಆಯಾಸಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
16 The sluggard [is] wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಬಲ್ಲ ಏಳು ಜನರಿಗಿಂತ, ತಾನೇ ಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಎಂದು ಸೋಮಾರಿಯು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
17 He that passeth by, [and] meddleth with strife [belonging] not to him, [is like] one that taketh a dog by the ears.
ಒಬ್ಬನು ಹಾದುಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ತನಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸದೇ ಇರುವ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಲೆಹಾಕುವವನು ನಾಯಿಯ ಕಿವಿ ಹಿಡಿದವನಂತೆ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ.
18 As a mad [man] who casteth fire-brands, arrows, and death,
ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಿ, “ಇದು ತಮಾಷೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವವನು, ಕೊಳ್ಳಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಾವನ್ನೂ ಬೀರುವ ಹುಚ್ಚನಂತೆಯೇ.
19 So [is] the man [that] deceiveth his neighbor, and saith, Am not I in sport?
20 Where no wood is, [there] the fire goeth out: so where [there is] no tale-bearer, the strife ceaseth.
ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆರಿಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಚಾಡಿಕೋರನು ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಜಗಳ ಶಮನವಾಗುವುದು.
21 [As] coals [are] to burning coals, and wood to fire; so [is] a contentious man to kindle strife.
ಕೆಂಡಗಳಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದಲು, ಬೆಂಕಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಜಗಳವನ್ನು ಕೆರಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕಲಹ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಇರುವನು.
22 The words of a tale-bearer [are] as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
ಚಾಡಿಕೋರನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ರುಚಿಕರ ಭಕ್ಷ್ಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯ ಅಂತರ್ಭಾಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿಯುತ್ತವೆ.
23 Burning lips and a wicked heart [are like] a potsherd covered with silver dross.
ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಹೃದಯದಿಂದ ಸವಿನುಡಿಯುವ ತುಟಿಯು, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಹೊದಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಬೋಕಿಯಂತೆ ಇದೆ.
24 He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ತುಟಿಗಳಿಂದ ವೇಷ ಧರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ತನ್ನ ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಸವನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for [there are] seven abominations in his heart.
ಸವಿಮಾತನ್ನಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ನಂಬಬೇಡ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ಅಸಹ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿವೆ.
26 [Whose] hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shown before the [whole] congregation.
ಅವನ ಹಗೆತನವು ಮೋಸದಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅವನ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಯಲಾಗುವುದು.
27 Whoever diggeth a pit shall fall into it: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
ಗುಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ತೋಡುವವನು ತಾನೇ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಕಲ್ಲು ಹೊರಳಿಸುವವನ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಅದು ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೊರಳುವುದು.
28 A lying tongue hateth [those that are] afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
ಸುಳ್ಳು ನಾಲಿಗೆಯವನು ತಾನು ಬಾಧಿಸಿದವರನ್ನೇ ಹಗೆ ಮಾಡುವನು; ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಬಾಯಿಯು ನಾಶವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
