Proverbs 25
1 These [are] also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.
೧ಇವು ಕೂಡ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಲೇಖಕರು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಬರೆದರು.
2 [It is] the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings [is] to search out a matter.
೨ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿಡುವುದು ದೇವರ ಮಹಿಮೆ, ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಮಾಡುವುದು ರಾಜರ ಹಿರಿಮೆ.
3 The heaven for hight, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings [is] unsearchable.
೩ಆಕಾಶವು ಉನ್ನತ, ಭೂಮಿಯು ಅಗಾಧ, ರಾಜರ ಹೃದಯವು ಅಗೋಚರ.
4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.
೪ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದ ಕಲ್ಮಷವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿದರೆ, ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಾಗುವುದು.
5 Take away the wicked [from] before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.
೫ರಾಜನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿದರೆ, ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವು ಧರ್ಮದಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗುವುದು.
6 Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great [men]:
೬ರಾಜನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ, ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರಿಗೆ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.
7 For better [it is] that it be said to thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldst be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thy eyes have seen.
೭ನೀನು ಪ್ರಭುವನ್ನು ದರ್ಶನಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲು ಅವನ ಸಮಕ್ಷಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಳಗಣಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ನೂಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ, “ಇನ್ನೂ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಲೇಸು.
8 Go not forth hastily to strive, lest [thou know not] what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbor hath put thee to shame.
೮ದುಡುಕಿ ನೆರೆಯವನ ಮೇಲೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡ, ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾನ ಕಳೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲೆ, ನೋಡಿಕೋ.
9 Debate thy cause with thy neighbor [himself]; and reveal not a secret to another:
೯ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಿದವನ ಸಂಗಡಲೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಚರ್ಚಿಸು, ಒಬ್ಬನ ಗುಟ್ಟನ್ನೂ ಬಯಲುಮಾಡಬೇಡ.
10 Lest he that heareth [it] put thee to shame, and thy infamy turn not away.
೧೦ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಾನು, ನಿನಗೆ ಬಂದ ಅಪಕೀರ್ತಿಯು ಹೋಗದು.
11 A word fitly spoken [is like] apples of gold in pictures of silver.
೧೧ಸಮಯೋಚಿತವಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಖಚಿತವಾದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನ.
12 [As] an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, [so is] a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.
೧೨ಕೇಳುವ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಾದವು ಹೊನ್ನಿನ ಮುರುವಿಗೂ, ಅಪರಂಜಿಯ ಆಭರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಸಮಾನ.
13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, [so is] a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.
೧೩ಸುಗ್ಗೀಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಮದ ಶೀತವು ಹೇಗೋ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಒಡೆಯರಿಗೆ ಆಪ್ತದೂತನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹಿತ.
14 Whoever boasteth himself of a false gift [is like] clouds and wind without rain.
೧೪ಬರೀ ಗಾಳಿಯ ಮೋಡಗಳು ಹೇಗೋ, ದಾನಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡಿ ಜಂಬಮಾಡುವವನೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ.
15 By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.
೧೫ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಭುವನ್ನೂ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಪಡಿಸಬಹುದು, ಮೃದುವಚನವು ಎಲುಬನ್ನು ಮುರಿಯುವುದು.
16 Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled with it, and vomit it.
೧೬ಜೇನು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತೋ? ಮಿತವಾಗಿ ತಿನ್ನು, ಹೊಟ್ಟೆತುಂಬಾ ತಿಂದರೆ ಕಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟೀಯೇ.
17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbor's house; lest he be weary of thee, and [so] hate thee.
೧೭ನೆರೆಯವನು ಬೇಸರಗೊಂಡು ಹಗೆಮಾಡದ ಹಾಗೆ, ಅವನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪರೂಪವಾಗಿ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಿಡು.
18 A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor [is] a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
೧೮ನೆರೆಯವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಹೇಳುವವನು, ಚಮಟಿಕೆ, ಕತ್ತಿ, ಚೂಪಾದ ಬಾಣ ಇವುಗಳೇ.
19 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble [is like] a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
೧೯ಕಷ್ಟಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಲ್ಲಿಡುವ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯು, ಮುರುಕಹಲ್ಲು ಮತ್ತು ಜಾರುವ ಕಾಲು.
20 [As] he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, [and as] vinegar upon nitre; so [is] he that singeth songs to a heavy heart.
೨೦ಮನಗುಂದಿದವನಿಗೆ ಸಂಗೀತಹಾಡುವುದು ಚಳಿದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ತೆಗೆದಂತೆ, ಗಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹುಳಿಹೊಯ್ದಂತೆ.
21 If thy enemy shall hunger, give him bread to eat; and if he shall thirst, give him water to drink:
೨೧ನಿನ್ನ ವೈರಿ ಹಸಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅನ್ನವಿಡು, ಬಾಯಾರಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀರುಕೊಡು,
22 For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD will reward thee.
೨೨ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೆಂಡ ಸುರಿದಂತಾಗುವುದು. ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಕೊಡುವನು.
23 The north wind driveth away rain: so [doth] an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.
೨೩ಉತ್ತರದ ಗಾಳಿ ಮಳೆ ಬರಮಾಡುವುದು, ಚಾಡಿಯ ನಾಲಿಗೆ ಕೋಪದ ಮುಖ ಮಾಡುವುದು.
24 [It is] better to dwell in a corner of the house-top, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.
೨೪ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಗಳಗಂಟಿಯ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ, ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಒಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವುದೇ ಲೇಸು.
25 [As] cold waters to a thirsty soul, so [is] good news from a far country.
೨೫ಬಳಲಿ ಬಾಯಾರಿದವನಿಗೆ ತಣ್ಣೀರು ಹೇಗೋ, ದೇಶಾಂತರದಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಮಾಚಾರವು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ.
26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked [is as] a turbid fountain, and a corrupt spring.
೨೬ದುಷ್ಟರಿಂದ ಸೋತ ಶಿಷ್ಟನು, ಹಾಳು ಬಾವಿ ಮತ್ತು ತುಳಿದಾಡಿದ ಒರತೆ.
27 [It is] not good to eat much honey: so [for men] to search their own glory [is not] glory.
೨೭ಜೇನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ತಿನ್ನುವುದು ಹಿತವಲ್ಲ, ಸ್ವಂತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಯೋಚಿಸುವುದು ಮಾನವಲ್ಲ.
28 He that [hath] no rule over his own spirit [is like] a city [that is] broken down, [and] without walls.
೨೮ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದವನು ಗೋಡೆ ಬಿದ್ದ ಹಾಳೂರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನ.
