Proverbs 24
1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମନ୍ଦ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଈର୍ଷା କର ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସଙ୍ଗୀ ହେବାକୁ ବାଞ୍ଛା କର ନାହିଁ।
2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
କାରଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ଦୌରାତ୍ମ୍ୟ କଳ୍ପନା କରେ, ପୁଣି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଓଷ୍ଠ ଅନିଷ୍ଟ କଥା କହେ।
3 Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established:
ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମିତ ହୁଏ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିରେ ତାହା ସ୍ଥିର ହୁଏ;
4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ତାହାର କୋଠରିସବୁ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ଓ ମନୋରମ ବସ୍ତୁରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୁଏ।
5 A wise man [is] strong; and a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
ଜ୍ଞାନବାନ ଲୋକ ବଳବାନ, ପୁଣି, ବିଦ୍ୱାନ୍ ଲୋକ ବଳ ବଢ଼ାଏ।
6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counselors [there is] safety.
ଅବଶ୍ୟ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭଲ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଘେନି ଆପଣା ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବ; ଆଉ, ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ବାହୁଲ୍ୟରେ ରକ୍ଷା ହୁଏ।
7 Wisdom [is] too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
ଅଜ୍ଞାନ ପ୍ରତି ଜ୍ଞାନ ଅତି ଉଚ୍ଚ; ସେ ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ଆପଣା ମୁଖ ଫିଟାଏ ନାହିଁ।
8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ମନ୍ଦ କରିବାକୁ ଚିନ୍ତା କରେ, ଲୋକମାନେ ତାହାକୁ କୁସନ୍ଧାନୀ ବୋଲି କହିବେ।
9 The thought of foolishness [is] sin: and the scorner [is] an abomination to men.
ଅଜ୍ଞାନର ସଂକଳ୍ପ ପାପଯୁକ୍ତ; ପୁଣି, ନିନ୍ଦକ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଘୃଣିତ।
10 [If] thou faintest in the day of adversity, thy strength [is] small.
ବିପଦର ଦିନରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେବେ ସାହସହୀନ ହେବ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଶକ୍ତି ଅଳ୍ପ।
11 If thou forbearest to deliver [them that are] drawn to death, and [those that are] ready to be slain;
ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନିଆଯିବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କର ଓ ହତ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉଦ୍ୟତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବା ପାଇଁ କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider [it]? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth [not] he know [it]? and will [not] he render to [every] man according to his works?
ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ କୁହ, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହା ଜାଣି ନାହୁଁ, ତେବେ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ତୌଲିବା କର୍ତ୍ତା କʼଣ ତାହା ବୁଝନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ? ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରାଣର ରକ୍ଷାକର୍ତ୍ତା କʼଣ ତାହା ଜାଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ? ଆଉ, ସେ କʼଣ ପ୍ରତି ଜଣକୁ ଆପଣା କର୍ମାନୁସାରେ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବେ ନାହିଁ?
13 My son, eat thou honey, because [it is] good; and the honey-comb, [which is] sweet to thy taste:
ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧୁ ଖାଅ, ଯେହେତୁ ତାହା ଭଲ; ପୁଣି, ମଧୁଚାକ ଖାଅ, ଯେହେତୁ ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭ ତୁଣ୍ଡକୁ ସୁସ୍ୱାଦୁ ଲାଗିବ।
14 So [shall] the knowledge of wisdom [be] to thy soul: when thou hast found [it], then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
ଜ୍ଞାନ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରାଣ ପ୍ରତି ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣିବ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ପାଇଲେ, ପୁରସ୍କାର ଥିବାରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଭରସା ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେବ ନାହିଁ।
15 Lay not wait, O wicked [man], against the dwelling of the righteous; destroy not his resting-place:
ହେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଧାର୍ମିକର ବାସସ୍ଥାନ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଛକି ବସ ନାହିଁ; ତାହାର ବିଶ୍ରାମ-ସ୍ଥାନ ଲୁଟ କର ନାହିଁ।
16 For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
ଯେଣୁ ଧାର୍ମିକ ସାତ ଥର ପଡ଼ିଲେ ହେଁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଉଠେ; ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନେ ବିପଦରେ ଝୁଣ୍ଟି ପଡ଼ନ୍ତି।
17 Rejoice not when thy enemy falleth, and let not thy heart be glad when he stumbleth:
ତୁମ୍ଭର ଶତ୍ରୁ ପତିତ ହେଲେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କର ନାହିଁ, ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ ଝୁଣ୍ଟି ପଡ଼ିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚିତ୍ତ ହୃଷ୍ଟ ନ ହେଉ;
18 Lest the LORD see [it], and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
କେଜାଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହା ଦେଖି ଅସନ୍ତୁଷ୍ଟ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ଓ ତାହାଠାରୁ ଆପଣା କ୍ରୋଧ ଫେରାନ୍ତି।
19 Fret not thyself because of evil [men], neither be thou envious at the wicked;
ମନ୍ଦକର୍ମକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ସକାଶୁ ବିରକ୍ତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ; ପୁଣି, ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଈର୍ଷା କର ନାହିଁ।
20 For there shall be no reward to the evil [man]; the candle of the wicked shall be extinguished.
କାରଣ ମନ୍ଦ ଲୋକର କୌଣସି ପୁରସ୍କାର ହେବ ନାହିଁ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଦୀପ ନିଭାଯିବ।
21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: [and] meddle not with them that are given to change:
ହେ ମୋହର ପୁତ୍ର, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ଓ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କର, ପୁଣି, ଚଞ୍ଚଳମତିମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଲିପ୍ତ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ।
22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
କାରଣ ହଠାତ୍ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ବିପଦ ଘଟିବ; ପୁଣି, ସେହି ଉଭୟର ସଂହାର କିଏ ଜାଣେ?
23 These [things] also [belong] to the wise. [It is] not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
ଏସବୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଜ୍ଞାନୀମାନଙ୍କ କଥା। ବିଚାରରେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ମୁଖାପେକ୍ଷା କରିବା ଭଲ ନୁହେଁ।
24 He that saith to the wicked, Thou [art] righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
ଦୁଷ୍ଟକୁ ଯେ କହେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଧାର୍ମିକ, ତାହାକୁ ଲୋକେ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦେବେ, ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀୟମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ଘୃଣା କରିବେ।
25 But to them that rebuke [him] shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
ମାତ୍ର ଯେଉଁମାନେ ତାହାକୁ ଅନୁଯୋଗ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଆନନ୍ଦ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ଉତ୍ତମ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତେ।
26 [Every man] shall kiss [his] lips that giveth a right answer.
ଯେ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଏ, ସେ ଓଷ୍ଠାଧର ଚୁମ୍ବନ କରେ।
27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thy house.
ବାହାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟର ଆୟୋଜନ କର, କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଆପଣା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତାହା ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କର; ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆପଣା ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମାଣ କର।
28 Be not a witness against thy neighbor without cause; and deceive [not] with thy lips.
ଅକାରଣରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତିବାସୀ ବିପକ୍ଷରେ ସାକ୍ଷୀ ହୁଅ ନାହିଁ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଓଷ୍ଠ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପ୍ରତାରଣା କର ନାହିଁ।
29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
“ସେ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଯେପରି କରିଅଛି, ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ମୁଁ ସେପରି କରିବି ଓ ତାହାର କର୍ମାନୁସାରେ ମୁଁ ତାହାକୁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳ ଦେବି, ଏରୂପ କୁହ ନାହିଁ।”
30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
ମୁଁ ଅଳସୁଆର କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ଓ ନିର୍ବୋଧ ଲୋକର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ର ନିକଟ ଦେଇ ଗଲି।
31 And lo, it was all grown over with thorns, [and] nettles had covered the face of it, and its stone wall was broken down.
ପୁଣି, ଦେଖ, ତହିଁର ସବୁଆଡ଼େ କଣ୍ଟା ବଢ଼ିଅଛି ଓ ବିଛୁଆତି ତହିଁ ଉପରେ ବ୍ୟାପ୍ତ ଅଛି, ତହିଁର ପଥର ପାଚେରୀସବୁ ଭଗ୍ନ ହୋଇଅଛି।
32 Then I saw, [and] considered [it] well: I looked upon [it], [and] received instruction.
ତହୁଁ ମୁଁ ଅନାଇଲି, ପୁଣି, ମନୋଯୋଗ କଲି; ମୁଁ ଦେଖିଲି ଓ ଉପଦେଶ ପାଇଲି।
33 [Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
ଆଉ ଟିକିଏ ଶୋଇଲେ, ଆଉ ଟିକିଏ ଢୁଳାଇଲେ, ଆଉ ଟିକିଏ ନିଦ୍ରା ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ହାତ ଭିଡ଼ିମୋଡ଼ି ହେଲେ,
34 So shall thy poverty come [as] one that traveleth; and thy want as an armed man.
ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦରିଦ୍ରାବସ୍ଥା ଖଣ୍ଟ ପରି, ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୀନତା ସସଜ୍ଜ ଲୋକ ପରି ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବ।
