Proverbs 23
1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what [is] before thee:
၁မင်းနှင့်အတူထိုင်၍ စားသောက်သောအခါ သင့်ရှေ့မှာ အဘယ်သူရှိသည်ကို စေ့စေ့ဆင်ခြင်လော့။
2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou [art] a man given to appetite.
၂သင်သည် စားကြူးတတ်သောသူဖြစ်လျှင်၊ သင်၏လည်ချောင်းကို ထားနှင့်ရွယ်လော့။
3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they [are] deceitful food.
၃ထိုမင်း၏ခဲဘွယ်စားဘွယ်တို့ကို အလိုမရှိနှင့်။ လှည့်စားတတ်သောအစာဖြစ်၏။
4 Labor not to be rich: cease from thy own wisdom.
၄ငွေရတတ် ခြင်းငှါ မကြိုးစားနှင့်။ ကိုယ်ဥာဏ်ကို အမှီမပြုနှင့်။
5 Wilt thou set thy eyes upon that which is not? for [riches] certainly make to themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle towards heaven.
၅ပျောက်တတ်သောအရာကို စေ့စေ့မျက်မှောက် ပြုသင့်သလော။ အကယ်စင်စစ် ရွှေလင်းတသည် မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်သို့ ပျံတတ်သကဲ့သို့၊ ထိုအရာသည် အတောင်တို့ကို လုပ်၍ပျံသွားတတ်၏။
6 Eat thou not the bread of [him that hath] an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainties:
၆မနာလိုသောသူ၏ အစာကိုမစားနှင့်။ သူ၏ ခဲဘွယ်စားဘွယ်ကို အလိုမရှိနှင့်။
7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so [is] he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart [is] not with thee.
၇သူသည် စိတ်ထင်သည်အတိုင်းဖြစ်၏။ စား သောက်တော့ဟု ဆိုသော်လည်း စေတနာစိတ်မရှိ။
8 The morsel [which] thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
၈သင်သည် စားသောအစာကို တဖန်အန်ရ လိမ့်မည်။ သင်ချိုသော စကားလည်းယိုယွင်းလိမ့်မည်။
9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
၉မိုက်သောသူကြားအောင် စကားမပြောနှင့်။ သင်၏စကား၌ ပါသောပညာကို မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုလိမ့်မည်။
10 Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:
၁၀အရိပ်စိုက်သော မြေမှတ်တိုင်ကိုမရွှေ့နှင့်။ မိဘမရှိသော သူတို့၏ လယ်ကိုမသိမ်းနှင့်။
11 For their redeemer [is] mighty; he will plead their cause with thee.
၁၁အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထိုသူတို့ကို ရွေးတော်မူသော သူသည် တန်ခိုးကြီး၍၊ သင့်တဘက်၌ သူတို့အမှုကို စောင့်တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။
12 Apply thy heart to instruction, and thy ears to the words of knowledge.
၁၂ဆုံးမဩဝါဒ၌ စိတ်နှလုံးစွဲလမ်း၍၊ ပညာ အတတ် စကားကို နာခံလော့။
13 Withhold not correction from the child: for [if] thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
၁၃သူငယ်ကို မဆုံးမဘဲမနေနှင့်။ ကြိမ်လုံးနှင့်ရိုက် သော်လည်း သူသည် မသေ။
၁၄ကြိမ်လုံးနှင့်ရိုက်၍ သူ၏အသက်ဝိညာဉ်ကို မရဏနိုင်ငံမှ ကယ်နှုတ်ရမည်။ (Sheol h7585)
15 My son, if thy heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
၁၅ငါ့သား၊ သင့်နှလုံး၌ပညာရှိလျှင် ငါ့နှလုံးနှင့် ငါ့ကိုယ်တိုင်သည် ဝမ်းမြောက်လိမ့်မည်။
16 Yes, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.
၁၆သင့်နှုတ်သည် မှန်သောစကားကို ပြောသော အခါ၊ ငါ့ကျောက်ကပ်ရွှင်လန်းလိမ့်မည်။
17 Let not thy heart envy sinners: but [be thou] in the fear of the LORD all the day long.
၁၇အပြစ်ထင်ရှားသော သူတို့ကို ငြူစူသော စိတ်မရှိစေနှင့်။ တနေ့လုံးထာဝရဘုရားကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ သောသဘော ရှိစေလော့။
18 For surely there is an end; and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
၁၈အကယ်စင်စစ် အမှုဆုံးဖြတ်ချိန်သည် ရောက် လိမ့်မည်။ သင့်မြော်လင့်ခြင်းအကြောင်း မပျက်ရာ။
19 Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thy heart in the way.
၁၉ငါ့သား၊ ငါ့စကားကို နားထောင်၍ ပညာရှိသ ဖြင့်၊ ကိုယ်စိတ်နှလုံးကို လမ်းမ၌ပဲ့ပြင်လော့။
20 Be not among wine-bibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
၂၀စပျစ်ရည်သောက်ကြူးသောသူ၊ အမဲသားစား ကြူးသော သူတို့ကို အပေါင်းအဘော်မလုပ်နှင့်။
21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe [a man] with rags.
၂၁သောက်ကြူးသောသူနှင့် စားကြူးသောသူသည် ဆင်းရဲခြင်းသို့ ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။ အိပ်ကြူးသော သဘော သည် လူကိုအဝတ်စုတ်နှင့် ခြုံတတ်၏။
22 Hearken to thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.
၂၂သင့်ကိုဖြစ်ဘွားစေသောအဘ၏ စကားကို နားထောင်လော့။ အသက်ကြီးသော အမိကို မထီမဲ့မြင် မပြုနှင့်။
23 Buy the truth, and sell [it] not; [also] wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
၂၃သမ္မာတရားကို ဝယ်လော့။ မရောင်းနှင့်။ ပညာ ကို၎င်း၊ ဆုံးမဩဝါဒကို၎င်း၊ ဥာဏ်သတ္တိကို၎င်း ထိုအတူ ပြုလော့။
24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise [child] shall have joy of him.
၂၄ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူ၏အဘသည် အလွန်ဝမ်း မြောက်လိမ့်မည်။ ပညာရှိသော သားကို ဖြစ်ဘွားစေသော သူသည် ထိုသား၌ အားရဝမ်းမြောက်လိမ့်မည်။
25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bore thee shall rejoice.
၂၅သင်၏မိဘတို့သည်ဝမ်းမြောက်၍၊ သင့်ကို မွေးဘွားသောသူသည် ရွှင်လန်းလိမ့်မည်။
26 My son, give me thy heart, and let thy eyes observe my ways.
၂၆ငါ့သား၊ သင့်နှလုံးကို ငါ့အားပေးလော့။ သင့် မျက်စိတို့သည် ငါသွားသောလမ်းကို ကြည့်မှတ်ပါစေ။
27 For a lewd woman [is] a deep ditch; and a strange woman [is] a narrow pit.
၂၇ပြည်တန်ဆာမသည် နက်သောကျုံးကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ အမျိုးပျက်သော မိန်းမသည် ကျဉ်းသော မြေတွင်းကဲ့သို့ ၎င်း ဖြစ်၏။
28 She also lieth in wait as [for] a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.
၂၈သူသည် ထားပြကဲ့သို့ ချောင်းကြည့်တတ်၏။ လွန်ကျူးသော ယောက်ျားများပြားစေခြင်းငှါ ပြုတတ်၏။
29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
၂၉အဘယ်သူသည် ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူသည် ညည်းတွားခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ် သူသည် ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သည် မြည် တမ်းခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူသည် အကျိုးအကြောင်း မရှိ၊ ထိခိုက်၍ နာခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူသည် မျက်စိနီခြင်းရှိသနည်း ဟူမူကား၊
30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
၃၀စပျစ်ရည်ကို ကြာမြင့်စွာ သောက်လျက်နေ သောသူ၊ ဆေးနှင့်ရောသော စပျစ်ရည်ကို ရှာတတ်သော သူတို့သည် ထိုသို့သော လက္ခဏာရှိကြ၏။
31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth its color in the cup, [when] it moveth itself aright.
၃၁ဖလား၌နီလျက်၊ အရောင်တောက်လျက်၊ အချိုအမြိန်ဝင်လျက်ရှိသော စပျစ်ရည်ကို မကြည့်မရှုနှင့်။
32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
၃၂နောက်ဆုံး၌ မြွေကဲ့သို့ကိုက်တတ်၏။ မြွေဆိုး ကဲ့သို့ နာစေတတ်၏။
33 Thy eyes shall behold strange women, and thy heart shall utter perverse things.
၃၃သင့်မျက်စိတို့သည် အမျိုးပျက်သောမိန်းမတို့ကို ကြည့်ရှု၍၊ သင့်နှလုံးသည်လည်း ကောက်သော စကားကို မြွက်ဆိုလိမ့်မည်။
34 And thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
၃၄အကယ်စင်စစ် သင်သည် ပင်လယ်အလယ်၌ အိပ်သောသူ၊ သင်္ဘောရွက်တိုင်ဖျားပေါ်မှာ အိပ်သော သူကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။
35 They have stricken me, [wilt thou say], [and] I was not sick; they have beaten me, [and] I felt [it] not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.
၃၅သူတို့သည် ငါ့ကိုရိုက်ကြပြီ။ သို့သော်လည်း ငါမနာ။ ငါ့ကိုထိုးကြသော်လည်း ငါမသိ။ အဘယ်အချိန် မှ ငါနိုးရမည်နည်း။ တဖန်ငါရှာ ဦးမည်ဟု သင်ဆိုလိမ့် သတည်း။
