< Proverbs 14 >

1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
Dhako mariek gero ode, to dhako mofuwo muko ode gi lwete owuon.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but [he that is] perverse in his ways despiseth him.
Ngʼat ma wuodhe oriere oluoro Jehova Nyasaye, to ngʼat ma yorene achach ochaye.
3 In the mouth of the foolish [is] a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
Wuoyo mar ngʼama ofuwo kelone mana goch e ngʼeye, to dho jomariek bedonegi ragengʼ.
4 Where no oxen [are], the crib [is] clean: but much increase [is] by the strength of the ox.
Kama onge rwedhi, dipo bedo nono, to kama rwath nitiere keyo mangʼeny bedoe.
5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
Janeno ma ja-adiera ok riambi, to janeno ma hango wach wacho mana miriambo.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and [findeth it] not: but knowledge [is] easy to him that understandeth.
Ngʼat ma jasunga nyalo dwaro rieko to ok oyud gimoro, ngʼeyo tiend wach to biro mayot ne ngʼat ma ongʼeyo pogo tiend weche.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not [in him] the lips of knowledge.
Bed mabor gi ngʼat mofuwo nimar ok iniyud ngʼeyo tiend wach e dhoge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understand his way: but the folly of fools [is] deceit.
Rieko mar jorieko en bedo gi paro ne yoregi, to fup joma ofuwo en wuondruok.
9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous [there is] favor.
Joma ofuwo jaro kowachnegi mondo giwe richo, to ngʼwono iyudo kuom joma kare.
10 The heart knoweth its own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.
Chuny ka chuny ongʼeyo litne owuon, to onge ngʼato machielo manyalo bedo e mor ma en-go.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
Od ngʼat marach ibiro ketho to kar dak mar ngʼat makare biro dhiyo nyime.
12 There is a way which seemeth right to a man, but the end of it [are] the ways of death.
Nitie yo manenore ne dhano ni nikare, to gikone otero mana ngʼato e tho.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth [is] heaviness.
Kata e kinde mar nyiero, chuny nyalo bedo gi lit, to mor nyalo gik e kuyo.
14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man [shall be satisfied] from himself.
Joma onge yie ibiro mi pok moromo gi timbegi, to ngʼat maber bende pok moromo kode.
15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
Ngʼat mangʼeyone tin thoro yie gimoro amora, to ngʼat mariek paro gik motimo.
16 A wise [man] feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
Ngʼat mariek oluoro Jehova Nyasaye kendo okwedo richo, to ngʼama ofuwo wiye tek kendo omuomore.
17 [He that is] soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
Ngʼat ma iye wangʼ piyo timo gik mofuwo, to ngʼat ma ja-miganga ji mon-go.
18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
Joma ngʼeyogi tin nwangʼo fuwo, to jomariek irwako nigi ogut ngʼeyo.
19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
Joricho kulore e nyim joma beyo, to jo-ajendeke e dhorangeye mag joma kare.
20 The poor is hated even by his own neighbor: but the rich [hath] many friends.
Jochan ok dwar kata gi jobutgi, to jo-mwandu nigi osiepe mangʼeny.
21 He that despiseth his neighbor sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy [is] he.
Ngʼatno machayo jabute timo richo, to ogwedhi ngʼatno mangʼwon gi jogo mochando.
22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth [shall be] to them that devise good.
Donge jogo machano marach lal nono? To jogo machano gima ber yudo hera kendo imiyogi luor.
23 In all labor there is profit: but the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to penury.
Tich matek duto kelo ohala, to wuoyo awuoya maonge tim kelo dhier.
24 The crown of the wise [is] their riches: [but] the foolishness of fools [is] folly.
Mwandu jomariek e osimbo margi, to fup joma ofuwo nyago mana fuwo.
25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful [witness] speaketh lies.
Janeno ma ja-adiera reso ji e tho, to janeno ma hango wach en jawuond.
26 In the fear of the LORD [is] strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Ngʼat moluoro Jehova Nyasaye nigi ohinga motegno, kendo nyithinde noyud kar pondo.
27 The fear of the LORD [is] a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Luoro Jehova Nyasaye en soko mar ngima, ma reso ngʼato e obadho mag tho.
28 In the multitude of people [is] the king's honor: but in the want of people [is] the destruction of the prince.
Ruoth ma joge ngʼeny ema yudo duongʼ, to ruoth maonge jogo morito to podho.
29 [He that is] slow to wrath [is] of great understanding: but [he that is] hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Ngʼat ma terore mos nigi winjo, to ngʼatno ma iye wangʼ piyo nyiso fupe.
30 A sound heart [is] the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
Chuny man-gi kwe kelo ngima ni ringruok, to nyiego towo choke.
31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoreth him hath mercy on the poor.
Ngʼat masando jochan nyiso achaya ne Jal mane ochweyogi, to ngʼato angʼata mangʼwon ni jogo mochando miyo Nyasaye luor.
32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
Ka masira obiro, joricho itieko, to kata e tho ngʼat makare nigi kar pondo.
33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but [that which is] in the midst of fools is made known.
Rieko odak e chuny ngʼat ma weche donjone, to kata mana e dier joma ofuwo omiyo ingʼeye.
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin [is] a reproach to any people.
Tim makare tingʼo oganda malo, to richo en wichkuot ne ji.
35 The king's favor [is] towards a wise servant: but his wrath is [against] him that causeth shame.
Ruoth mor gi jatich mariek, to jatich makwodo wich yudo mirimbe.
