< Proverbs 11 >
1 A false balance [is] abomination to the LORD: but a just weight [is] his delight.
Awurade kyi asisi nsania, na nʼani gye nokware nkaribo ho.
2 [When] pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly [is] wisdom.
Ahantan ba a, animguase na edi so, nanso ahobrɛase de nyansa ba.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
Teefo nokwaredi kyerɛ wɔn kwan; nanso nkontompofo ano ntanta sɛe wɔn.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Ahonya nka hwee wɔ abufuwhyew da no, nanso trenee gye nkwa fi owu mu.
5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
Wɔn a wonni bɔne no trenee bɔ kwan tee ma wɔn, nanso amumɔyɛfo amumɔyɛsɛm brɛ wɔn ase.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in [their own] naughtiness.
Pɛyɛfo treneeyɛ gye wɔn, nanso akɔnnɔ bɔne afiri yi nkontompofo.
7 When a wicked man dieth, [his] expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust [men] perisheth.
Sɛ omumɔyɛfo wu a, nʼanidaso yera; nea osusuw sɛ obenya afi ne tumi mu nyinaa no yɛ ɔkwa.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
Wogye ɔtreneeni fi amane mu, na ɛba omumɔyɛfo so mmom.
9 A hypocrite with [his] mouth destroyeth his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
Nea onsuro Onyame de nʼano sɛe ne yɔnko, nanso ɔtreneeni nam nimdeɛ so fi mu.
10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, [there is] shouting.
Sɛ atreneefo di yiye a, kuropɔn no di ahurusi; nanso amumɔyɛfo wu a, wɔbɔ ose.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
Pɛyɛfo nhyira ma kuropɔn no kɔ so, nanso amumɔyɛfo ano ma ɛbɔ.
12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbor: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
Onipa a onni adwene no bu ne yɔnko animtiaa, nanso nea ɔwɔ nhumu no to ne tɛkrɛma nnareka.
13 A tale-bearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
Nsekudi sɛe ahotoso, nanso nea wɔwɔ ne mu ahotoso no kora ahintasɛm.
14 Where no counsel [is], the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors [there is] safety.
Ɔman a enni akwankyerɛ no bɔ, nanso afotufo dodow ma nkonimdi ba.
15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart [for it]: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.
Nea odi akagyinamu ma ɔfoforo no behu amane, na nea ɔmmfa ne nsa nhyɛ awowasi ase no aso mu dwo no.
16 A gracious woman retaineth honor: and strong [men] retain riches.
Ɔbea a ne yam ye no, wɔde obu ma no, nanso mmarima atirimɔdenfo nya ahode nkutoo.
17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but [he that is] cruel troubleth his own flesh.
Ɔyamyefo ye ma ne ho, na otirimɔdenfo de ɔhaw ba nʼankasa so.
18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness [shall be] a sure reward.
Omumɔyɛfo nya akatua a ennyina, nanso nea ogu trenee aba no twa aba a edi mu.
19 As righteousness [tendeth] to life: so he that pursueth evil [pursueth it] to his own death.
Nea ɔyɛ nokware treneeni no nya nkwa, nanso nea ɔkɔ so yɛ bɔne no kɔ owu mu.
20 They that are of a froward heart [are] abomination to the LORD: but [such as are] upright in [their] way [are] his delight.
Awurade kyi nnipa a wɔn koma akyea, na nʼani gye wɔn a wɔn akwan ho nni asɛm no ho.
21 [Though] hand [join] in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Gye to mu sɛ, amumɔyɛfo benya wɔn akatua, na atreneefo benya wɔn ti adidi mu.
22 [As] a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, [so is] a fair woman who is without discretion.
Ɔbea hoɔfɛfo a ontumi nsi gyinae no te sɛ sika kaa a ɛhyɛ prako hwene mu.
23 The desire of the righteous [is] only good: [but] the expectation of the wicked [is] wrath.
Atreneefo apɛde wie yiye, nanso amumɔyɛfo anidaso wie abufuwhyew.
24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and [there is] that withholdeth more than is meet, but [it tendeth] to poverty.
Obi yɛ adɔe, na onya ne ho bebree; obi nso yɛ pɛpɛe, nanso ehia no.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Ɔyamyefo bɛkɔ so anya ne ho; na nea ɔma ebinom mee no nso bɛmee.
26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing [shall be] upon the head of him that selleth [it].
Nnipa dome nea ɔde atoko sie, na nhyira ba nea ɔtɔn ne de so.
27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favor: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come to him.
Nea ɔhwehwɛ papa akyi kwan no nya anisɔ, na nea ɔhwehwɛ bɔne no, bɔne ba ne so.
28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
Nea ɔde ne ho to nʼahonyade so no bɛhwe ase, na ɔtreneeni bɛyɛ frɔmfrɔm sɛ ahabammono.
29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool [shall be] servant to the wise of heart.
Nea ɔde ɔhaw bɛto nʼabusua so no bedi mframa ade, na ɔkwasea bɛyɛ onyansafo somfo.
30 The fruit of the righteous [is] a tree of life; and he that winneth souls [is] wise.
Ɔtreneeni aba yɛ nkwadua, na nea ogye akra no yɛ onyansafo.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed upon the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Ɛyɛ den sɛ wobegye onipa pa nkwa; na wɔn a wonnye asɛm no nni ne nnebɔneyɛfo no de, dɛn na ɛbɛba wɔn so?”
