Proverbs 10
1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother.
௧சாலொமோனின் நீதிமொழிகள்: ஞானமுள்ள மகன் தகப்பனைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்துகிறான்; மூடத்தனமுள்ளவனோ தாய்க்குச் சஞ்சலமாக இருக்கிறான்.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
௨அநியாயத்தின் பொருட்கள் ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாது; நீதியோ மரணத்திற்குத் தப்புவிக்கும்.
3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
௩யெகோவா நீதிமான்களைப் பசியினால் வருந்தவிடமாட்டார்; துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய பொருளையோ அகற்றிவிடுகிறார்.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth [with] a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
௪சோம்பற்கையால் வேலைசெய்கிறவன் ஏழையாவான்; சுறுசுறுப்புள்ளவன் கையோ செல்வத்தை உண்டாக்கும்.
5 He that gathereth in summer [is] a wise son: [but] he that sleepeth in harvest [is] a son that causeth shame.
௫கோடைக்காலத்தில் சேர்க்கிறவன் புத்தியுள்ள மகன்; அறுப்புக்காலத்தில் தூங்குகிறவனோ அவமானத்தை உண்டாக்குகிற மகன்.
6 Blessings [are] upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
௬நீதிமானுடைய தலையின்மேல் ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் தங்கும்; கொடுமையோ துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வாயை அடைக்கும்.
7 The memory of the just [is] blessed: but the name of the wicked shall perish.
௭நீதிமானுடைய பெயர் புகழ்பெற்று விளங்கும்; துன்மார்க்கனுடைய பெயரோ அழிந்துபோகும்.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
௮இருதயத்தில் ஞானமுள்ளவன் கட்டளைகளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; அலப்புகிற மூடனோ விழுவான்.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
௯உத்தமமாக நடக்கிறவன் பத்திரமாக நடக்கிறான்; கோணலான வழிகளில் நடக்கிறவனோ கண்டுபிடிக்கப்படுவான்.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
௧0கண்சாடை காட்டுகிறவன் தவறு செய்கிறான்; அலப்புகிற மூடன் விழுவான்.
11 The mouth of a righteous [man is] a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
௧௧நீதிமானுடைய வாய் ஜீவஊற்று; கொடுமையோ துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வாயை அடைக்கும்.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
௧௨பகை விரோதங்களை எழுப்பும்; அன்போ எல்லாப் பாவங்களையும் மூடும்.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod [is] for the back of him that is void of understanding.
௧௩புத்திமானுடைய உதடுகளில் விளங்குவது ஞானம்; மதிகேடனுடைய முதுகுக்கு ஏற்றது பிரம்பு.
14 Wise [men] lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish [is] near destruction.
௧௪ஞானவான்கள் அறிவைச் சேர்த்துவைக்கிறார்கள்; மூடனுடைய வாய்க்குக் கேடு சமீபித்திருக்கிறது.
15 The rich man's wealth [is] his strong city: the destruction of the poor [is] their poverty.
௧௫செல்வந்தனுடைய பொருள் அவனுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணம்; ஏழைகளின் வறுமையோ அவர்களைக் கலங்கச்செய்யும்.
16 The labor of the righteous [tendeth] to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
௧௬நீதிமானுடைய உழைப்பு வாழ்வையும், துன்மார்க்கனுடைய விளைவோ பாவத்தையும் பிறப்பிக்கும்.
17 He [is in] the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
௧௭புத்திமதிகளைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் ஜீவவழியில் இருக்கிறான்; திருத்துதலை வெறுக்கிறவனோ மோசம்போகிறான்.
18 He that hideth hatred [with] lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, [is] a fool.
௧௮பகையை மறைக்கிறவன் பொய் உதடன்; புறங்கூறுகிறவன் மதிகேடன்.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that restraineth his lips [is] wise.
௧௯சொற்களின் மிகுதியால் பாவமில்லாமற்போகாது; தன்னுடைய உதடுகளை அடக்குகிறவனோ புத்திமான்.
20 The tongue of the just [is as] choice silver: the heart of the wicked [is] little worth.
௨0நீதிமானுடைய நாவு சுத்தவெள்ளி; துன்மார்க்கனுடைய மனம் அற்பவிலையும் பெறாது.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
௨௧நீதிமானுடைய உதடுகள் அநேகருக்கு உணவளிக்கும்; மூடரோ மதியீனத்தினால் சாவார்கள்.
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
௨௨யெகோவாவின் ஆசீர்வாதமே செல்வத்தைத் தரும்; அதனோடு அவர் வேதனையைக் கூட்டமாட்டார்.
23 [It is] as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
௨௩தீவினைசெய்வது மூடனுக்கு விளையாட்டு; புத்திமானுக்கோ ஞானம் உண்டு.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
௨௪துன்மார்க்கன் பயப்படும் காரியம் அவனுக்கு வந்து சம்பவிக்கும்; நீதிமான் விரும்புகிற காரியம் அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so [is] the wicked no [more]: but the righteous [is] an everlasting foundation.
௨௫சுழல்காற்று கடந்துபோவதுபோல் துன்மார்க்கன் கடந்துபோவான்; நீதிமானோ நிரந்தர அஸ்திபாரமுள்ளவன்;
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so [is] the sluggard to them that send him.
௨௬பற்களுக்கு புளிப்பும், கண்களுக்குப் புகையும் எப்படி இருக்கிறதோ, அப்படியே சோம்பேறியும் தன்னை அனுப்புகிறவர்களுக்கு இருக்கிறான்.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
௨௭யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயப்படுதல் ஆயுள்நாட்களைப் பெருகச்செய்யும்; துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய வருடங்களோ குறுகிப்போகும்.
28 The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
௨௮நீதிமான்களின் நம்பிக்கை மகிழ்ச்சியாகும்; துன்மார்க்கருடைய வாழ்க்கையோ அழியும்.
29 The way of the LORD [is] strength to the upright: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.
௨௯யெகோவாவின் வழி உத்தமர்களுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பு, அக்கிரமக்காரர்களுக்கோ கலக்கம்.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
௩0நீதிமான் என்றும் அசைக்கப்படுவதில்லை; துன்மார்க்கர்கள் பூமியில் வசிப்பதில்லை.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
௩௧நீதிமானுடைய வாய் ஞானத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தும்; மாறுபாடுள்ள நாவோ அறுப்புண்டுபோகும்.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked [speaketh] frowardness.
௩௨நீதிமான்களுடைய உதடுகள் பிரியமானவைகளைப்பேச அறியும்; துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய வாயோ மாறுபாடுள்ளது.
