Numbers 36

1 And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spoke before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:

١ وَتَقَدَّمَ رُؤُوسُ ٱلْآبَاءِ مِنْ عَشِيرَةِ بَنِي جِلْعَادَ بْنِ مَاكِيرَ بْنِ مَنَسَّى مِنْ عَشَائِرِ بَنِي يُوسُفَ، وَتَكَلَّمُوا قُدَّامَ مُوسَى وَقُدَّامَ ٱلرُّؤَسَاءِ رُؤُوسِ ٱلْآبَاءِ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ،

2 And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

٢ وَقَالُوا: «قَدْ أَمَرَ ٱلرَّبُّ سَيِّدِي أَنْ يُعْطِيَ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِقِسْمَةٍ بِٱلْقُرْعَةِ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. وَقَدْ أُمِرَ سَيِّدِي مِنَ ٱلرَّبِّ أَنْ يُعْطِيَ نَصِيبَ صَلُفْحَادَ أَخِينَا لِبَنَاتِهِ.

3 And if they shall be married to any of the sons of the [other] tribes of the children of Israel, then will their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and will be put to the inheritance of the tribe into which they are received: so it will be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

٣ فَإِنْ صِرْنَ نِسَاءً لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَنِي أَسْبَاطِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، يُؤْخَذُ نَصِيبُهُنَّ مِنْ نَصِيبِ آبَائِنَا وَيُضَافُ إِلَى نَصِيبِ ٱلسِّبْطِ ٱلَّذِي صِرْنَ لَهُ. فَمِنْ قُرْعَةِ نَصِيبِنَا يُؤْخَذُ.

4 And when the jubilee of the children of Israel shall be, then will their inheritance be put to the inheritance of the tribe into which they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

٤ وَمَتَى كَانَ ٱلْيُوبِيلُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ يُضَافُ نَصِيبُهُنَّ إِلَى نَصِيبِ ٱلسِّبْطِ ٱلَّذِي صِرْنَ لَهُ، وَمِنْ نَصِيبِ سِبْطِ آبَائِنَا يُؤْخَذُ نَصِيبُهُنَّ».

5 And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.

٥ فَأَمَرَ مُوسَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ حَسَبَ قَوْلِ ٱلرَّبِّ قَائِلًا: «بِحَقٍّ تَكَلَّمَ سِبْطُ بَنِي يُوسُفَ.

6 This [is] the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.

٦ هَذَا مَا أَمَرَ بِهِ ٱلرَّبُّ عَنْ بَنَاتِ صَلُفْحَادَ قَائِلًا: مَنْ حَسُنَ فِي أَعْيُنِهِنَّ يَكُنَّ لَهُ نِسَاءً، وَلَكِنْ لِعَشِيرَةِ سِبْطِ آبَائِهِنَّ يَكُنَّ نِسَاءً.

7 So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

٧ فَلَا يَتَحَوَّلُ نَصِيبٌ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ سِبْطٍ إِلَى سِبْطٍ، بَلْ يُلَازِمُ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ نَصِيبَ سِبْطِ آبَائِهِ.

8 And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.

٨ وَكُلُّ بِنْتٍ وَرَثَتْ نَصِيبًا مِنْ أَسْبَاطِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ تَكُونُ ٱمْرَأَةً لِوَاحِدٍ مِنْ عَشِيرَةِ سِبْطِ أَبِيهَا، لِكَيْ يَرِثَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ نَصِيبَ آبَائِهِ،

9 Neither shall the inheritance remove from [one] tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.

٩ فَلَا يَتَحَوَّلْ نَصِيبٌ مِنْ سِبْطٍ إِلَى سِبْطٍ آخَرَ، بَلْ يُلَازِمُ أَسْبَاطُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ نَصِيبَهُ».

10 Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:

١٠ كَمَا أَمَرَ ٱلرَّبُّ مُوسَى كَذَلِكَ فَعَلَتْ بَنَاتُ صَلُفْحَادَ.

11 For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to their father's brothers' sons:

١١ فَصَارَتْ مَحْلَةُ وَتِرْصَةُ وَحَجْلَةُ وَمِلْكَةُ وَنُوعَةُ بَنَاتُ صَلُفْحَادَ نِسَاءً لِبَنِي أَعْمَامِهِنَّ.

12 [And] they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

١٢ صِرْنَ نِسَاءً مِنْ عَشَائِرِ بَنِي مَنَسَّى بْنِ يُوسُفَ، فَبَقِيَ نَصِيبُهُنَّ فِي سِبْطِ عَشِيرَةِ أَبِيهِنَّ.

13 These [are] the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan [near] Jericho.

١٣ هَذِهِ هِيَ ٱلْوَصَايَا وَٱلْأَحْكَامُ ٱلَّتِي أَوْصَى بِهَا ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ يَدِ مُوسَى، فِي عَرَبَاتِ مُوآبَ عَلَى أُرْدُنِّ أَرِيحَا.
