< Nehemiah 9 >
1 Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.
Chuche lha nisomni le ni li nin, mipi akikhom kit’un, tuchung hin an angol’un khaodip pon asil’un, aluchunguva vut akinu’uvin ahi.
2 And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.
Israel chilhah ho jouse gamchom miho a konin akidal se uvin chule amaho chonset nale apu apateu chonset na aphongdoh tauvin ahi.
3 And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God [one] fourth part of the day; and [another] fourth part they confessed, and worshiped the LORD their God.
Pakai Pathen danbu a kona akisim phong tengleh, nidan thum sungin adinnau munah ading chahkheh jiuvin ahi. Chujou tengleh nidan thum ma achonset nau phondoh nale Pakai a Pathen’u chibai bohnan amangun ahi.
4 Then stood upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, [and] Chenani, and cried with a loud voice to the LORD their God.
Levite - Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, chuleh Kenani- hichenghi Levite kalbia adingun Pakai a Pathen u kom’ah othong sangtah in asamun apentho jengun ahi.
5 Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, [and] Pethahiah, said, Stand up [and] bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
Chujouchun Levite lamkaiho chu: Joshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, chule Pethahiah chun mipi ho chu ahin sam in, hiti hin ajah uvah ahinsei taove: “Dingdoh uvin lang Pakai na Pathen’u thangvah un, ajeh chu ama tonsot tonsotna hingjing jeng ahi,” atiuve. Hijouchun amaho ataovun, “Namin loupi hi vahchoiyin umhen! Phatthei bohna le thangvahna ho jouse chunga choisangin umhen!” atiuve.
6 Thou, [even] thou, [art] LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all [things] that [are] in it, the seas, and all that [is] in them, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshipeth thee.
“Nangma changseh bou Pakai nahi. Nangin vanho leh vanthamjol chuleh ahsi jouse nasem ahi. Nangin leiset le twikhanglen chuleh asunga umho jouse nasem ahi. Nangin aboncha hi nahoibit ahin vanna vantilte jousen chibai naboh un ahi.”
7 Thou [art] the LORD the God, who chosest Abram, and broughtest him forth from Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;
“Nangma hi Pakai Pathen nahin Ur gam'a um Chaldea mite lah a kona Abram nana lhendoh a nahin puidoh a, amin jong Abraham a nakhel peh ahi.”
8 And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him, to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give [it], [I say], to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou [art] righteous:
“Aman kitah na ana subulhit jeh'in Canaan mite, Hit mite, Amon mite, Periz mite, Jebus mite, chule Gargash mite, gamhi amaleh achilhahte peh dingin kitepna nana neipi in ahi. Chuleh nangin nakitepna bangin nana tongdoh in ahi. Ajehchu nangma hi aseidohsa thuchenga kitah jing jenga nahi.”
9 And thou sawest the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;
“Nangin kapu kapateu Egypt gam'a aum laiyuva agenthei nau nana mupeh in, chuleh twikhanglen panga akanao nangaipeh in ahi.”
10 And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as [it is] this day.
“Hitichun kapu kapateu anabol genthei jeh’un nangman Pharaoh leh avaihomho chuleh amipite dounan melchihna thilkidang tah tah nana boldoh in ahi.”
11 And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.
“Nangman twikhanglen chu nana homkhen in namite tolgo’a lam nana jotsah in ahi. Chule nangman agalmiteu chu twikhanglen sunga nana lehlut’in ahi. Chujongle amaho chu twipi noilanga song bangin analhum mang jengun ahi.”
12 Moreover, thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way in which they should go.
“Nangman kapu kapateu chu sun tengleh meilom in nana puiyin, jan tengleh meikong lomin nana puiyin, alampi diu nana musah jingin ahi.”
13 Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spokest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:
“Chule nangma Sinai molsang chunga nahung kumlhan chuleh vanna konin nahin seiyin ahi, che na daan le thuhil dihtah tah nanapen chuleh thupeh leh thugahna hoitah tah nana pen ahi.”
14 And madest known to them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:
“Chule nangman nachol ngah nitheng chungchang hilchet na jong nana pen chule nangman nalhachapa Mose mangchan nathupeh ho le nathu gah na chuleh nathuhil ho anit diuvin nana seipeh in ahi.”
15 And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.
“Chuti chun amaho agil’u akel tengleh van'a konin changlhah nana pen; adangchah tengule songpia konin twi napen ahi; Nangin peh dinga nana tep peh gamho alokhum diuvin thupeh jong nana pen ahi.”
16 But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments,
“Ahinlah kapu kapateu chu ana kiletsah’un chuleh ana louchal’un ahi, chuleh nathupeh chu ana nahsah pouvin ahi.”
17 And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst perform among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou [art] a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.
“Amaho nathua nun ding ana nom pouvin, chuleh amaho dinga thilkidang nana bolpeh ho ana geldoh jitapouvin ahi. Chusangin alouchal’un Egypt’a asoh channa languva le puikit dingin lamkai ana kilhen doh’un ahi! Ahiyeng vang'in nangma hi mi ngaidam hat, milungset them le mikhoto them, lunghang vah lou chuleh ngailut na dimset Pathen nahi.”
18 Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This [is] thy God that brought thee out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations;
“Amahon bongnou tobang milim semthu ana kisem doh’uva chuleh hitia ana seiyuva, hiche hi na Pathen’u Egypt a kona nahin puidoh pao chu ahi anatiuvin, hitobang tah hin Pathen taitom na chu ana neitaovin ahi.”
19 Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way in which they should go.
“Ahiyeng vang'in na mikhoto na alet jeh in nangin gamthip gam'a chun nana dalha pon ahi. Suntengleh meilom in napuiyin, jantengleh mei kongin napui jing nalaiyin ahi.”
20 Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.
“Naphat na Lhagao chu mangchan nana hiljing nalaiyin, agilkel tengule aneh diuvin vanna konin Manna napen adangchah tengule adon diu twi nape jingin ahi.
21 Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, [so that] they lacked nothing; their clothes grew not old, and their feet swelled not.
“Kum somli sungin gamthip noiya nana khoukhah in, chuleh imacha lhahsam na anatoh khapouvin ahi. Aponsil’u jong asepon chuleh akengu jong ana napon ahi.”
22 Moreover, thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.
“Chutengleh nangin kapu kapateu chu lenggam hole namdang ho chunga galjona nanapen chuleh namite hi gamsung ningkoi jousea nana koiyin ahi. Amahon Heshbon lengpa Sihon toh Bashan lengpa Og gam jong anala uvin ahi.”
23 Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess [it].
“Nangman achilhahteu chu ahsi jat naphah sahin apu apateu nana teppeh agama chun napui lutin ahi.”
24 So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.
“Amaho analut’un agamu analah peh’un ahi; chule nangman nam pumpi amasanguva nana sunem in ahi. Chule gamsunga ana cheng Canaan mite jeng jong thaneilou bangin nana lhan ahi! Hitichun namiten hiche nam ho hi aleng teu pumin anop nop ana lotauvin ahi.”
25 And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards and olive-yards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they ate and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.
“Kapu kapateuvin, kulpi kigen khum akhopi ho ahin, agam phalai jouseu ahin, analah peh’un ahi. Chule thil le lo phatah tah dimset in ho jong atou phauvin, twikul kigeihomsa hole lengpilei chuleh OIive thinglei le theiphung tamtah alahpeh’un ahi. Hitichun amahon lung nachim set’in athaodoh tokah seuvin aneuvin naphatthei bohna lhingset’a ana kivah’un ahi.”
26 Nevertheless, they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets who testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.
“Ahiyeng vang'in amaho ana louchal’un, chuleh nangma dounan ana kiphin nalaiyuvin ahi; chule nadanthu ana nungsun’un, nathemgao ten na-henga hung kile dinga ana gihsal jeh un ana that gam’un, chule nangma dounan thet um tahtah thil anabol tauvin ahi.”
27 Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who distressed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried to thee, thou hearedest [them] from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them deliverers, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.
“Hijeh chun nangman agalmiteu koma nana pedohjin, amahon ana sugenthei jiuvin ahi. Ahivangin amahon athoh gimuva nakoma ahung tao tengule nangman vanna konin ataonao nangai peh kit jin; chule nami khoto na jal’in nangin ahuhdoh diu nasolpeh kityin, amahon agal miuva konin aga huhdoh juivin ahi.”
28 But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore thou leftest them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned and cried to thee, thou hearedest [them] from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies;
“Ahinlah amahon olna ahin muphat phat’ule avelin nangma mitmun thilse ahin bol kit jiuvin; chuleh nangin agal mihou noiyah nasunem kit jin ahi. Ahiyeng vang'in amahon kap pum puma panpi ngaicha a nangma kom ahinbel tengule vana konin ataonao nahin sanpeh kitjin ahi. Chuti chun nami khoto na kidangtah jal'in nangin avel vel in nahuhdoh kit jin ahi.”
29 And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again to thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not to thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man doeth, he shall live in them: ) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.
“Nangman na danthua ahung kilehei kitna diuvin nagih saljin ahinla amaho akiletsah un, alouchal’un, nathupeh anah sahmo jiuvin ahi. Chule na danthu ho hi ajuiju leh ahindoh jeng theina diu jong ajui nom pouvin ahi; amaho alouchal’un nangma nanung ngat’un nathu angai nom pouvin ahi.”
30 Yet many years didst thou forbear over them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore thou gavest them into the hand of the people of the lands.
“Na mingailut na jal’in kum hijat pi hi nahin khongaiyin ahi; chule nangman na Lhagao Theng nahin sol in, aman themgao ho mangchan agihsal sahjin ahi. Ahinla amahon anahsah deh jipouve! Hijeh chun nangman agamsung miho khutna gal nalel sahjin ahi.”
31 Nevertheless, for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou [art] a gracious and merciful God.
Ahinlah na mikhoto na anat sat jeh in amaho chu nasu mangpai deh pon chule nadonda deh pon ahi. Itobanga lungset them leh khoto them nahi hitam?”
32 Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria to this day.
“Tun vang ka Pathen’u loupi tah leh thahattah chuleh gimneitah ami ngailut na longlou puma akitepna nit jing Pathen, kathoh gimnao hi nahsah mon neikoi peh hihbeh’un; ajeh chu Assyria lengten eichotpha uva pat tuni geihin keiho le ka lengteu, kalamkai teu, ka themputeu, le kapu kapateu, namite ho jouse chunga hin hahsat na nasatah achutan ahi.”
33 But thou [art] just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:
“Nei-engbol chan’un nangma hi nadih jinge, chule keiho kachonset val jeh uvin nangman kachan diuva kilom bep neipeh jiu ahi.”
34 Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened to thy commandments and thy testimonies, with which thou didst testify against them.
“Kaleng teu, ka lamkaiteu, ka themputeu, kapu kapate uvin na daan anit pouvin, na daan thupeh leh nagihsal na jong anahsah pouvin ahi.”
35 For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.
“Amahon lenggam tum aneiyun, nangman naphat naho nabuhlhah khum vangun amahon nangma najen pouve; chule nangman gampha tah leh gam lentah napen ahinlah amahon athilse bolnauva konin ahung kilehei nom deh pouve.”
36 Behold, we [are] servants this day, and [for] the land that thou gavest to our fathers to eat the fruit of it and the good of it, behold, we [are] servants in it:
“Hijeh chun tuni kho hin, nangin kapu kapa teuvin nengtah le lungmong tah a anehdiu gampha tah napeh na muna hin sohchangin kaum tauve! Hiche gampha lai tah a hin kasoh changtauve.”
37 And it yieldeth much increase to the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we [are] in great distress.
“Kachonset jeh’uvin hiche gamsung sohdoh ga phatah tah ho hi nangin keiho chunga vaihom dinga na tun lengho khut nah achugam tan ahi; chule amahon keiho chungleh kagancha hou chunga tha aneitauve. Chujongle amahon adei deiyin eimangchauvin keiho kagenthei lheh jengtauve,” atiuvin ahi.
38 And because of all this we make a sure [covenant], and write [it]; and our princes, Levites, [and] priests, set their seals [to it].
Hichun mipihon adonbut’un, “Hiche chung changa hin keihon kitepna giltah kaneiyun, hichu kajih lut’un ahi. Hiche mohor kinam khum thulhuhna lekha chunga hin ka lamkaiteu, Levite, chuleh kathempuhou min achongin ahi,” atiuvin ahi.
