< Nahum 1 >

1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite,
Ty talily i Ninevè. Ty boken’ aroñaro’ i Nakòme nte-Elkose.
2 God [is] jealous, and the LORD avengeth; the LORD avengeth, and [is] furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth [wrath] for his enemies.
Mpamarahy t’i Andrianañahare, Mpamale fate t’Iehovà; Mpañondroke miforoforo t’Iehovà; Mpañava-kabò amo rafelahi’eo t’Iehovà, ie mañaja haviñerañe amo malaiñe azeo.
3 The LORD [is] slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit [the wicked]: the LORD [hath] his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds [are] the dust of his feet.
Malaon-kaviñerañe t’Iehovà, ra’elahy ty haozara’e, fe tsy hapò’e tsy ho lafaeñe o aman-kakeoo; Iehovà: amo tangololahio o lala’eo, naho ami’ty tio-bey ao; o rahoñeo ro debom-pandia’e.
4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
Endaha’e i riakey le ampimaihe’e, ampikarakankaiñe’e o sakao; rinotsake t’i Basane naho i Karmele; miheatse ty voñen-katae’ i Libanone.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, even the world, and all that dwell therein.
Miezeñezeñe aolo’e eo o vohitseo, mitranake iaby o haboañeo, forototo ty tane toy ami’ty fiatrefa’e, ty voatse toy naho ze mpimoneñe ama’e ao.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
Ia ty mahafijohañe añatrefa’ o fifombo’eo? Ia ty mahatambeloñe amy fiforoforoan-kaviñera’ey? Ailiñe hoe afo ty filevelevea’e, avokovoko’e ambane iaby ze vato.
7 The LORD [is] good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Soa t’Iehovà, fipalirañe añ’andron-kankàñe; arofoana’e iaby o miato ama’eo.
8 But with an over-running flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
F’ie an-tsorotombahañe mivovò, ty hamongora’e i toe’ey, vaho ho roahe’e mb’ an-kamoromoroñañe ao o rafelahi’eo.
9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
Ino ze o fikililia’ areo am’ Iehovà zao? Fa harotsa’e, tsy hiongake fañindroe’e ty hekoheko.
10 For while [they] are folded together [as] thorns, and while they are drunken [as] drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
Fa manahake ty fivandiram-patike naho ty hamamoa’ o jikeo, ty hampangotomomoheñe iereo hoe ahe-maike.
11 There is [one] come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counselor.
Boak’ ama’o ty niavia’ i nikitro-draha am’ Iehovày, ie mañeretse hatsivokarañe.
12 Thus saith the LORD; Though [they are] quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
Hoe t’Iehovà: ndra t’ie lifo-kaozarañe, naho mitozantozañe, mbe hampikorovoheñe, vaho hihelañe añe; fa ndra te nanilofeko irehe, tsy ho silofeko ka.
13 For now I will break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds asunder.
Hapozako ama’o henaneo ty joka’e, vaho ho rafadrafateko o tali-randra’oo.
14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, [that] no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
Fa nandily ty ama’o t’Iehovà, te tsy ho tongisañe ka ty tahina’o; le haitoako amy akiban-drahare’oy ty sare sokin-katae naho ty sare natranake; f’ie hanoako kibory, amy t’ie tsy manjofake.
15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
Hehek’ an-kaboañe ey o fandia’ i mpinday talily soaio, i mampiboele fifampilongoañey! O ry Iehodà, anò o sabadidake miavakeo, henefo o nifantà’oo; amy te tsy hiranga ama’o ka ty Beliale, fa naitoañe.
