Micah 5
1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
Maintenant la ville sera investie; le Seigneur a ordonné que nous fussions assiégés, et l'on battra de verges les joues des tribus d'Israël.
2 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, [though] thou art little among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of thee shall he come forth to me [that is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth [have been] from of old, from everlasting.
Et toi, Bethléem, maison d'Éphratha, toi si petite parmi les milliers des fils de Juda, de toi Me sortira un rejeton pour être prince d'Israël, et Ses origines existent depuis le commencement, de toute éternité.
3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time [that] she who travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return to the children of Israel.
À cause de cela, le Seigneur les fera attendre jusqu'au temps de celle qui doit enfanter; elle enfantera, et les restes de leurs frères reviendront aux fils d'Israël.
4 And he will stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now will he be great to the ends of the earth.
Et le Seigneur S'arrêtera, et Il surveillera, et Il fera paître Son troupeau dans Sa force, et ils demeureront dans la gloire du Seigneur leur Dieu. Car alors ils seront glorifiés jusqu'aux extrémités de la terre.
5 And this [man] will be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
Et ce sera la paix, quand Assur aura envahi votre terre et marché sur vos champs; ensuite sept pasteurs et huit morsures d'hommes seront suscités contre lui.
6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its entrances: thus will he deliver [us] from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
Et ils gouverneront Assur par le glaive, et la terre de Nebrod par des retranchements; et le Seigneur vous délivrera d'Assur, après que celui-ci aura envahi votre territoire, et marché sur vos frontières.
7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.
Et les restes de Jacob seront parmi les gentils au milieu de maintes nations comme la rosée qui tombe envoyée par le Seigneur, et comme des agneaux dans un pré, afin que nuls ne se rassemblent parmi les fils des hommes.
8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he goeth through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
Et les restes de Jacob seront, parmi les gentils, au milieu de maintes nations, comme un lion dans une forêt avec du bétail, et comme un lionceau avec un troupeau de brebis. partout où il passe, il déchire et ravit, et nul n'est capable de la détruire.
9 Thy hand shall be lifted up upon thy adversaries, and all thy enemies shall be cut off.
Ta main se lèvera sur ceux qui t'oppriment, et tous tes ennemis seront exterminés.
10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:
Et en ce jour voici ce qui arrivera, dit le Seigneur: Je ferai périr tes chevaux au milieu de toi, et Je briserai tes chars;
11 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:
Je raserai les villes de ta terre, et Je détruirai tes forteresses.
12 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy hand; and thou shalt have no [more] sooth-sayers:
J'ôterai de ta main les sortilèges, et il n'y aura plus de devins avec toi.
13 Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thy hands.
J'anéantirai tes statues et tes colonnes, et tu n'adoreras plus les œuvres de tes mains.
14 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.
Je déracinerai les bois sacrés du milieu de tes champs, et J'effacerai tes cités.
15 And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
Et dans les transports de Ma colère Je tirerai vengeance des gentils, parce qu'ils M'auront point entendu.
