Matthew 9
1 And he entered into a boat, and passed over, and came into his own city.
Entró en una barca, cruzó y llegó a su ciudad.
2 And behold, they brought to him a man sick with the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the sick of the palsy, Son, be of good cheer; thy sins are forgiven thee.
Le trajeron un paralítico que estaba tendido en una cama. Jesús, al ver su fe, dijo al paralítico: “¡Hijo, anímate! Tus pecados te son perdonados”.
3 And behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This [man] blasphemeth.
He aquí que algunos de los escribas se decían: “Este hombre blasfema”.
4 And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, Why think ye evil in your hearts?
Jesús, conociendo sus pensamientos, les dijo: “¿Por qué pensáis mal en vuestros corazones?
5 For which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
Porque, ¿qué es más fácil, decir: “Tus pecados son perdonados”, o decir: “Levántate y anda”?
6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick with the palsy, ) Arise, take up thy bed, and go to thy house.
Pero para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad en la tierra para perdonar los pecados, le dijo al paralítico: “Levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa”.
7 And he arose, and departed to his house.
Se levantó y se fue a su casa.
8 But when the multitude saw [it], they marveled, and glorified God, who had given such power to men.
Pero cuando las multitudes lo vieron, se maravillaron y glorificaron a Dios, que había dado tal autoridad a los hombres.
9 And as Jesus was passing from thence, he saw a man named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
Al pasar por allí, Jesús vio a un hombre llamado Mateo, sentado en la oficina de recaudación de impuestos. Le dijo: “Sígueme”. Él se levantó y le siguió.
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at table in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
Mientras estaba sentado en la casa, he aquí que muchos recaudadores de impuestos y pecadores vinieron y se sentaron con Jesús y sus discípulos.
11 And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said to his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
Al ver esto, los fariseos dijeron a sus discípulos: “¿Por qué come vuestro maestro con recaudadores de impuestos y pecadores?”
12 But when Jesus heard [that], he said to them, They that are in health need not a physician, but they that are sick.
Al oírlo, Jesús les dijo: “Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, pero los enfermos sí.
13 But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Pero vosotros id y aprended lo que significa: “Quiero misericordia y no sacrificios,” porque no he venido a llamar a los justos, sino a los pecadores al arrepentimiento.”
14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples fast not?
Entonces los discípulos de Juan se acercaron a él, diciendo: “¿Por qué nosotros y los fariseos ayunamos a menudo, pero tus discípulos no ayunan?”
15 And Jesus said to them, Can the children of the bride-chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they will fast.
Jesús les dijo: “¿Pueden los amigos del novio llorar mientras el novio esté con ellos? Pero vendrán días en que el novio les será quitado, y entonces ayunarán.
16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth to an old garment: for that which is put in to fill it up, taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
Nadie pone un trozo de tela sin remendar en una prenda vieja, porque el remiendo se desprende de la prenda y se hace un agujero peor.
17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
Tampoco se pone vino nuevo en odres viejos, porque se reventarían los odres, se derramaría el vino y se arruinarían los odres. No, ponen vino nuevo en odres frescos, y ambos se conservan”.
18 While he was speaking these things to them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshiped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she will live.
Mientras les contaba estas cosas, se acercó un gobernante y le adoró diciendo: “Mi hija acaba de morir, pero ven y pon tu mano sobre ella, y vivirá.”
19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.
Jesús se levantó y le siguió, al igual que sus discípulos.
20 (And behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment.
He aquí que una mujer que tenía flujo de sangre desde hacía doce años se acercó detrás de él y tocó los flecos de su manto;
21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
porque decía en su interior: “Si toco su manto, quedaré sana.”
22 But Jesus turned himself about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.)
Pero Jesús, al volverse y verla, le dijo: “¡Hija, anímate! Tu fe te ha curado”. Y la mujer quedó sana desde aquella hora.
23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
Cuando Jesús entró en la casa del gobernante y vio a los flautistas y a la multitud en ruidoso desorden,
24 He said to them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they derided him.
les dijo: “Haced sitio, porque la muchacha no está muerta, sino dormida.” Se burlaban de él.
25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
Pero cuando la multitud fue despedida, él entró, la tomó de la mano y la muchacha se levantó.
26 And the fame of this went abroad into all that land.
La noticia de esto se difundió por toda aquella tierra.
27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, [Thou] son of David, have mercy on us.
Al pasar Jesús de allí, le siguieron dos ciegos, gritando y diciendo: “¡Ten piedad de nosotros, hijo de David!”
28 And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith to them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said to him, Yes, Lord.
Cuando entró en la casa, los ciegos se acercaron a él. Jesús les dijo: “¿Creéis que soy capaz de hacer esto?” Le dijeron: “Sí, Señor”.
29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, be it to you.
Entonces les tocó los ojos, diciendo: “Conforme a vuestra fe os sea hecho”.
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See [that] no man know [it].
Entonces se les abrieron los ojos. Jesús les ordenó estrictamente, diciendo: “Mirad que nadie sepa esto”.
31 But they, when they had departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
Pero ellos salieron y difundieron su fama en toda aquella tierra.
32 As thy went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a demon.
Cuando salieron, le trajeron a un mudo endemoniado.
33 And when the demon was cast out, the dumb spoke: and the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
Cuando el demonio fue expulsado, el mudo habló. Las multitudes se maravillaron, diciendo: “¡Nunca se ha visto nada semejante en Israel!”
34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out demons, through the prince of the demons.
Pero los fariseos decían: “Por el príncipe de los demonios, expulsa a los demonios”.
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness, and every disease among the people.
Jesús recorría todas las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando en sus sinagogas y predicando la Buena Nueva del Reino, y curando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia en el pueblo.
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Pero al ver las multitudes, se compadeció de ellas, porque estaban acosadas y dispersas, como ovejas sin pastor.
37 Then saith he to his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plentiful, but the laborers [are] few.
Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: “La mies es abundante, pero los obreros son pocos.
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.
Orad, pues, para que el Señor de la mies envíe obreros a su mies”.
