< Matthew 15 >

1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, who were of Jerusalem, saying,
Ɛda bi, Farisifoɔ ne Yudafoɔ mpanin no bi firi Yerusalem baa Yesu nkyɛn bɛbisaa no sɛ,
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
“Adɛn enti na wʼasuafoɔ no nni Yudafoɔ amanneɛ so? Yɛn amanneɛ a yɛhohoro yɛn nsa ho ansa na yɛadidi no, wɔnni so.”
3 But he answered and said to them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Yesu nso bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Adɛn enti na mo nso mode mo amanneɛ no bu Onyankopɔn mmaransɛm so?
4 For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
Ebi ne sɛ, Onyankopɔn mmara no ka sɛ, ‘Di wʼagya ne wo maame ni,’ na baako nso ne sɛ, ‘Obiara a ɔbɛka asɛmmɔne afa nʼawofoɔ ho no, ɛsɛ sɛ wɔkum no,’
5 But ye say, Whoever shall say to [his] father or [his] mother, [It is] a gift, by whatever thou mightest be profited by me;
Na mo deɛ, deɛ moka ne sɛ, sɛ obi ka kyerɛ ne maame anaa nʼagya sɛ, ‘Mewɔ adeɛ bi a anka mɛtumi de aboa mo, nanso mede rekɔma Onyankopɔn’ a, ɛnyɛ bɔne.
6 And honor not his father or his mother, [he shall be free]. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
Enti, mo ara monam mo mmara a moahyɛ so bu Onyankopɔn mmara a ɔhyɛɛ sɛ di wʼagya ne wo maame ni no so.
7 [Ye] hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
Mo nyaatwomfoɔ! Sɛ Yesaia hyɛɛ mo ho nkɔm sɛ:
8 This people draw nigh to me with their mouth, and honor me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me.
“‘Saa nnipa yi ka sɛ wɔdi me ni, nanso wɔn akoma mmɛn me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.
Wɔsom me ani so kɛkɛ, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔkyerɛkyerɛ mmara a onipa ayɛ na ɛnyɛ deɛ ɛfiri Onyankopɔn.’”
10 And he called the multitude, and said to them, Hear, and understand:
Afei, Yesu frɛɛ nnipadɔm no ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Montie deɛ meka no na mommɔ mmɔden nte aseɛ.
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Ɛnyɛ adeɛ a ɛbɛkɔ onipa mu no na ɛmma ne ho nte, na mmom, deɛ ɛbɛfiri ne mu aba no na ɛgu ne ho fi.”
12 Then came his disciples, and said to him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended after they heard this saying?
Nsɛm a Yesu kaeɛ yi maa nʼasuafoɔ no ba bɛka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Wonim sɛ wo nsɛm a wokaeɛ no ama Farisifoɔ no bo afu?”
13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be extirpated.
Yesu buaa wɔn sɛ, “Dua biara a ɛnyɛ mʼagya na ɔduaeɛ no, wɔbɛtu atwene.
14 Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leadeth the blind, both will fall into the ditch.
Mommmua wɔn koraa! Na wɔyɛ anifirafoɔ a wɔrekyerɛ anifirafoɔ ɛkwan enti wɔn nyinaa bɛkɔ akɔte ahwe amena mu.”
15 Then answered Peter and said to him, Declare to us this parable.
Petro ka kyerɛɛ Yesu sɛ, “Kyerɛ yɛn ɛbɛ no ase.”
16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
Yesu nso bisaa no sɛ, “Ampa ara sɛ monte aseɛ?
17 Do ye not yet understand, that whatever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Monnim sɛ adeɛ a ɛfa onipa anom no fa onipadua no mu na asane aba bio?
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Asɛm a ɛho nteɛ biara firi akoma a emu nteɛ mu ma ɛgu deɛ ɔkaa saa asɛm no ho fi.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Akoma mu na adwemmɔne, awudie, ayerefasɛm, adwamammɔ, korɔno, atorɔ ne ntwatosoɔ firi.
20 These are [the things] which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
Yeinom na ɛgu onipa ho fi. Nanso, sɛ obi anhohoro ne nsa sɛdeɛ mo amanneɛ teɛ no na ɔdidi a, ne ho nguu fi honhom mu.”
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the territories of Tyre and Sidon.
Yesu firii ɔman no mu hɔ kɔɔ Tiro ne Sidon.
22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same territories, and cried to him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, [thou] son of David; my daughter is grievously afflicted with a demon.
Kanaanni baa bi a ɔte ɔman no mu hɔ de su baa Yesu nkyɛn bɛkaa sɛ, “Awurade, Dawid Ba, hunu me mmɔbɔ! Honhommɔne hyɛ me ba mu na sɛ ɛka ne ho a, ɛma ne ho yera no.”
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
Yesu anka hwee. Nʼasuafoɔ no hyɛɛ no sɛ ɔmpam ɔbaa no mfiri hɔ. Wɔtii mu ka kyerɛɛ no bio sɛ, “Ka kyerɛ no na ɔmfiri ha nkɔ, na ɔde nʼadesrɛ no retuatua yɛn aso.”
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ ɔbaa no sɛ, “Wɔsomaa me sɛ memmɛboa Yudafoɔ, Israel nnwan a wɔayera no, na ɛnyɛ amanamanmufoɔ.”
25 Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me.
Ɔba bɛkotoo no kɔɔ so srɛɛ no sɛ, “Me wura, boa me!”
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] to dogs.
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Ɛnyɛ sɛ wɔbɛgye burodo afiri mmɔfra nsam ato ama nkraman.”
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crums which fall from their master's table.
Ɔbaa no nso buaa sɛ, “Ɛwom saa deɛ, nanso nkraman no nso tumi di mporoporowa a ɛfiri wɔn wura no ɛpono so gu fam no.”
28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great [is] thy faith: be it to thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ ɔbaa no sɛ, “Ɔbaa, wo gyidie mu yɛ den. Mɛyɛ wʼabisadeɛ ama wo.” Ɛhɔ ara, ne babaa no ho tɔɔ no.
29 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh to the sea of Galilee; and ascended a mountain, and sat down there.
Yesu sane baa Galilea ɛpo no ho. Ɔforo kɔtenaa bepɔ bi so.
30 And great multitudes came to him, having with them [those that were] lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:
Nnipa bebree de mpakye, anifirafoɔ, apirafoɔ, mumu ɛnna wɔn a wɔyare nyarewa ahodoɔ baa ne nkyɛn sɛ ɔnsa wɔn yadeɛ, ma ɔsaa wɔn nyinaa yadeɛ.
31 So that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
Anwanwasɛm ni! Wɔn a wɔnkasaa da kasaeɛ; mpakye nyaa ahoɔden; na mmubuafoɔ nanteeɛ, hurihuriiɛ na anifirafoɔ hunuu adeɛ. Nnipadɔm no ho dwirii wɔn ma wɔkamfoo Israel Onyankopɔn.
32 Then Jesus called his disciples [to him], and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
Afei Yesu frɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no nyinaa baa ne nkyɛn ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Nnipa yi yɛ me mmɔbɔ. Wɔabɛdi me nkyɛn ha nnansa. Aduane a ɛwɔ ha nyinaa nso asa. Nanso mempɛ sɛ mema wɔkɔ wɔn afie mu a wɔnnidiiɛ, anyɛ saa a, wɔbɛtotɔ bera wɔ ɛkwan so.”
33 And his disciples say to him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to satisfy so great a multitude?
Nʼasuafoɔ no nso bisaa no sɛ, “Ɛserɛ so ha deɛ, ɛhe na yɛbɛnya nnipadɔm yi ano aduane?”
34 And Jesus saith to them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
Yesu nso bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Burodo dodoɔ bɛn na mowɔ?” Wɔbuaa sɛ, “Yɛwɔ burodo nson ne mpataa kakraa bi.”
35 And he commanded the multitude to sit on the ground.
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ nnipadɔm no maa wɔn nyinaa tenatenaa ase wɔ ɛserɛ no so.
36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and broke [them], and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
Afei ɔfaa burodo nson no ne mpataa no, hyiraa so na ɔbubuu mu de maa asuafoɔ no sɛ wɔmfa mma nnipadɔm no nni.
37 And they all ate and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that were left seven baskets full.
Wɔn nyinaa dii aduane no mee pintinn.
38 And they that had eaten were four thousand men, besides women and children.
Wɔn a wɔdii saa aduane no, na wɔn dodoɔ yɛ nnipa mpemnan a wɔankan mmaa ne mmɔfra anka ho. Wɔdidi wieeɛ no, akyire mporoporowa a wɔtaseeɛ no yɛɛ nkɛntɛmma nson.
39 And he sent away the multitude, and took a boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
Yei akyi, Yesu gyaa nkurɔfoɔ no kwan, ma ɔno nso kɔtenaa kodoɔ mu tware kɔɔ Magadan.
