< Matthew 11 >

1 And it came to pass when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
Tukun Jesus el fahk kas inge nu sin mwet tumal lutlut singoul luo, el som liki acn sac in luti ac fahkak in siti ma oan apkuran nu in acn sac.
2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
3 And said to him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
4 Jesus answered and said to them, Go and show John again those things which ye hear and see:
Jesus el topuk ac fahk, “Folokot ac fahk nu sel John ma kowos lohng ac liye inge:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
mwet kun elos ku in liye, mwet ul elos ku in fahsr, mwet musen lepa elos aknasnasyeyukla, mwet sulohngkas elos ku in lohng, mwet misa elos akmoulyeyukyak, ac Pweng Wo uh lutiyuk nu sin mwet sukasrup.
6 And blessed is [he] to whom I shall not be the cause of his falling into sin.
Fuka lupan insewowo lalos su tia alolo keik!”
7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? a reed shaken with the wind?
Ya soko ah ma kusrusr ke eng uh?
8 But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that wear soft [clothing] are in kings' houses.
Mea kowos som in liye ah?
9 But what went ye out to see? A prophet? yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
Fahkma nu sik, mea kowos som in liye uh? Ya sie mwet palu? Aok pwaye, tusruktu nga fahk nu suwos, el su kowos liye ah fulat liki na sie mwet palu.
10 For this is [he] concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
Mweyen John pa mwet se Ma Simusla uh fahk kacl: ‘Nga ac supwaot mwet sulkakin se luk meet liki kom, in tuh sakunla inkanek lom uh.’
11 Verily, I say to you, among them that are born of women, there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is least in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist, until now, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Oe ke pacl John el mutawauk in luti nwe misenge, yohk mwe akkeok sikyak in lain Tokosrai lun kusrao, ac mwet sulallal elos kena sikulya ma lungse lun God uh.
13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
Meet liki pacl lal John, mwet palu ac Ma Sap lal Moses uh fahkak ke Tokosrai uh,
14 And if ye will receive [it], this is Elijah who was to come.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Ke ma inge kowos porongo, fin oasr srewos!
16 But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like to children sitting in the markets, and calling to their fellows,
“Na inge, mea nga ac ku in luma mwet in pacl inge uh nu kac? Elos oana tulik srisrik su muta ke nien kuka uh. Sie un tulik uh wowo nu sin sie pac u, ac fahk,
17 And saying, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced; We have mourned to you, and ye have not lamented.
‘Kut nikaruru nu sumtal, a komtal tiana srosro nu kac! Ac kut yuk on in asor, a komtal tiana tung!’
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a demon.
Ke John el tuh tuku, el lalo ac tia nim wain, ac mwet nukewa fahk, ‘Oasr ngun fohkfok in el!’
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a man gluttonous, and a wine-bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified by her children.
20 Then he began to upbraid the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they repented not.
Mwet in acn ma Jesus el oru inkaiyen orekma usrnguk lal we elos tiana forla liki ma koluk lalos, ouinge el kai acn inge.
21 Woe to thee, Chorazin; woe to thee, Bethsaida: for if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
El fahk, “We nu suwos, mwet Chorazin! We nu suwos, mwet Bethsaida! Orekma usrnguk ma orek yuruwos uh funu orek in acn Tyre ac Sidon, mwet we uh lukun nokomang na nuknuk yohk eoa oengi tari, ac okoaung apat nu fin sifalos in akkalemye lah elos forla liki moul koluk lalos!
22 But I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
Pwayena nga fahk nu suwos lah ke Len in Nununku, God El fah akkalemye pakomuta lal nu sin mwet Tyre ac Sidon liki kowos!
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs g86)
A funu kowos, mwet Capernaum! Ya kowos lungse akfulatye kowos sifacna nu inkusrao? Kowos ac fah sisila nu in hell! Orekma usrnguk ma orek yuruwos uh funu orek in acn Sodom, acn we lukun srakna oan nwe misenge! (Hadēs g86)
24 But I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom, in the day of judgment, than for thee.
Tuh nga fahk nu suwos lah ke Len in Nununku, God El fah akkalemye pakomuta lal nu sin Sodom liki kowos!”
25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes.
In pacl sac Jesus el fahk, “Papa, Leum lun kusrao ac faclu! Nga kulo nu sum tuh kom ikasla nu sin mwet nikin ma su kom okanla liki mwet lalmwetmet ac mwet etu.
26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Aok, Papa, ma inge orek fal nu ke lungse lom.
27 All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and [he] to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him].
“Papa tumuk El ase nu sik ma nukewa. Wangin mwet etu ke Wen, a Papa mukena; ac wangin pac mwet etu ke Papa, a Wen mukena, ac elos su Wen el sulela in fahkulak nu se. Nu suw
28 Come to me, all [ye] that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
“Fahsru nu yuruk, kowos su orekma ac totola, tuh nga fah sot mongla nu suwos.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me: for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls.
Eis srenenu luk nu fowos ac lutlut sik, tuh nga fakpap ac inse pusisel; ac kowos fah konauk mongla.
30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.
Tuh srenenu luk fisrasr, ac mwe utuk luk mulala.”
