Matthew 10
1 And when he had called to [him] his twelve disciples, he gave them power [against] unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness, and all manner of disease.
Y reunió a sus doce discípulos y les dio el poder de expulsar a los espíritus inmundos y de curar todo tipo de enfermedades y dolores.
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James [the son] of Zebedee, and John his brother;
Ahora los nombres de los doce son estos: el primero, Simón, que se llama Pedro, y Andrés, su hermano; Santiago, el hijo de Zebedeo, y Juan, su hermano;
3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James [the son] of Alpheus, and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddeus;
Felipe y Bartolomé; Tomás y Mateo, el recaudador de impuestos; Santiago, el hijo de Alfeo y Tadeo;
4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Simón el Zelote, y Judas Iscariote, él que también le traicionó.
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and enter ye not into [any] city of the Samaritans.
Estos doce envió Jesús y les dio órdenes, diciendo: No vayan entre los gentiles, ni a ninguna ciudad de Samaria,
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Vayan más bien a las ovejas errantes de la casa de Israel,
7 And as ye go, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Y donde quiera que vayan a predicar, anuncien el reino de los cielos está cerca.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons: freely ye have received, freely give.
Sana a los enfermos, resucita a los muertos, limpia a los leprosos, echa fuera espíritus malignos de los hombres; libremente se te ha dado, da libremente.
9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses;
No tomes oro, ni plata, ni cobre en tus bolsillos;
10 Nor bag for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor a staff: for the workman is worthy of his food.
No lleves ninguna bolsa para tu viaje y no tomes dos abrigos, zapatos o un palo: porque el obrero tiene derecho a su alimento.
11 And into whatever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till ye go thence.
Y a cualquier ciudad o lugar pequeño que vayas, busca allí a alguien respetado y haz de su casa tu lugar de descanso hasta que te vayas.
12 And when ye come into a house, salute it.
Y cuando entres, di: Que la paz sea en esta casa.
13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Y si la casa es digna de respeto, tu paz vendrá en esa casa; pero si no, deja que tu paz vuelva a ti.
14 And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart from that house, or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Y cualquiera que no quiera acogerlo o escuchar sus palabras, cuando salga de esa casa o de esa ciudad, sacudan el polvo de sus pies.
15 Verily, I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, in the day of judgment, than for that city.
De cierto les digo que será mejor para la tierra de Sodoma y de Gomorra en el día del juicio de Dios que para esa ciudad.
16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Mira, yo los envío como ovejas entre lobos. Sé entonces tan sabio como las serpientes, y tan inocentes como las palomas.
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.
Mas tengan cuidado de los hombres; porque ellos los entregarán a los Sanedrines, y en sus sinagoga los azotarán;
18 And ye will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
Y vendrán delante de gobernantes y reyes por mí, para testimonio de ellos y de los gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak, for it shall be given to you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
Pero cuando los entreguen en sus manos, no se preocupen por lo que van decir o cómo decirlo: porque en esa hora lo que han de decir les será dado;
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
Porque no son ustedes los que pronuncian las palabras, sino el Espíritu de su Padre que está en ustedes.
21 And the brother will deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children will rise up against [their] parents, and cause them to be put to death.
Y el hermano entregará a su hermano a la muerte, y el padre a su hijo; y los hijos irán contra sus padres y madres, y los matarán.
22 And ye will be hated by all [men] for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Y serán aborrecidos por todos los hombres a causa de mi nombre; pero el que es fuerte hasta el fin tendrá salvación.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say to you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel till the Son of man shall have come.
Pero si los persiguen en un pueblo, huye a otro; porque en verdad les digo que no habrán atravesado las ciudades de Israel antes de que venga el Hijo del hombre.
24 The disciple is not above [his] teacher, nor the servant above his lord.
Un discípulo no es más grande que su maestro o un siervo más que su señor.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he should be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord: if they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more [will they call] them of his household?
Para el discípulo es suficiente ser como su maestro, y el siervo como su señor. Si le han llamado Beelzebub al dueño de la casa, ¡cuánto más a los de su casa!
26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
No tengan miedo de ellos: porque nada está cubierto que no salga a la luz, o un secreto que no llegue a saberse.
27 What I tell you in darkness, [that] speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, [that] publish ye upon the house-tops.
Lo que les digo en la oscuridad, díganlo en la luz: y lo que escuchen en secreto, diganlo públicamente desde las azoteas.
28 And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Geenna g1067)
Y no teman a los que matan el cuerpo, mas no pueden matar el alma; pero tengan miedo de aquel que tiene el poder de dar alma y cuerpo a la destrucción en el infierno. (Geenna g1067)
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father.
¿No se venden dos gorriones a un cuarto? y ninguno de ellos llega a su fin sin el permiso de su Padre:
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Pero todos los cabellos de tu cabeza están contados.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Entonces no tengan miedo; eres más valioso que una bandada de gorriones.
32 Whoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.
A todos, pues, que me dan testimonio delante de los hombres, daré testimonio delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos.
33 But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Pero si alguno dice a los hombres que no me conoce, diré que no lo conozco delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos.
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
No piensen que he venido para traer paz a la tierra; No vine a traer paz sino una espada.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Porque he venido para traer a un hombre contra su padre, a la hija contra su madre, y a la nuera contra su suegra:
36 And a man's foes [will be] they of his own household.
Y el hombre será aborrecido por los de su casa.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me.
El que tiene más amor por su padre o su madre que por mí no es digno de mí; el que tiene más amor por su hijo o hija que por mí no es digno de mí.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me.
Y el que no toma su cruz y viene en pos de mí no es digno de mí.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake, shall find it.
Al que tiene el deseo de guardar su vida, le será quitada, y al que entregue su vida por mí la hallará.
40 He that receiveth you, receiveth me, and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.
El que te honra, me honra; y el que me honra, honra al que me envió.
41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man's reward.
El que honra a un profeta, en nombre de un profeta, recibirá la recompensa de profeta; y el que honra a un hombre recto, en nombre de un hombre recto, recibirá la recompensa de un hombre recto.
42 And whoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones, a cup of cold [water] only, in the name of a disciple, verily, I say to you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
Y cualquiera que le dé a uno de estos pequeños un vaso de agua fría solamente, en nombre de un discípulo, de verdad les digo, él no perderá su recompensa.
