< Mark 7 >

1 Then came together to him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, who came from Jerusalem.
Yerusalaameppe yida guutha Farisaawetinne higge asttamaareti Yesuusa matan shiiqidosona.
2 And when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled (that is to say with unwashed) hands, they found fault.
Yesuusa tamaaretappe issoti issoti geeyonna kushiyan, hessika kushe meecettonna kathi meyssata be7idosona.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash [their] hands often eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
Farisaawetinne Ayhude asay ubbay bantta aawata wogaatho bantta kushiya meecettonna mokkonna.
4 And [when they come] from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there are, which they have received to hold, [as] the washing of cups, and pots, and of brazen vessels, and tables.
Hessadakka, entti giyappe shamettidabaa meecconna de7ishe mokkonna. Qassi entti bantta aawatappe ekkida hara daro wogi de7ees: Hessika siniya, keriya, biraata miishetanne arssaa meecciya wogaa naageyssa.
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?
Farisaawetinne higge asttamaareti Yesuusa, “Ne tamaareti ays aawata wogaa menthidi bantta kushiya meecettonna kathi moonna?” yaagidi oychchidosona.
6 He answered and said to them, Well hath Isaiah prophesied concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoreth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me.
Yesuusi enttako, “Isayaasi hinttena cubbota, ‘Hayssi asay tana ba inxarssa xalaalan bonchchees, shin entta wozanay taappe haahon de7ees.
7 But, in vain do they worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.
Asi medhdhida wogaa Xoossaa higge daanisidi tamaarssiya gisho, entti taw mela goynnosona’” gidi xaafidayssi tuma.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, [as] the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
“Hintte Xoossaa kiitaa aggidi asa wogaa minthidi naageeta” yaagis.
9 And he said to them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition,
Qassika Yesuusi, “Hinttee hintte wogaa naagidi Xoossaa kiitaa yeggi agganaw lo77o oge demmideta.
10 For Moses said, Honor thy father and thy mother; and, Whoever curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
Musey, ‘Ne aawanne ne aayiw bonchcha’, qassi ‘Ba aawanne ba aayiw cayeyssi hayqqanaw bessees’ yaagis.
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, [It is] Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatever thou mightest be profited by me; [he shall be free].
Shin issi asi ba aawa woykko ba aayiw maaddanayssa aggidi, ‘Hessi Xoossaa yarshsho’ giikko,
12 And ye suffer him no more to do aught for his father or his mother;
I ba aawa woykko ba aayiw maaddonna mela ootheeta.
13 Making the word of God of no effect through your traditions, which ye have delivered: and many such like things ye do.
Hessadakka, hintte harata tamaarssida hintte wogan Xoossaa qaala kadhideta. Hessa mela hara darobaa ootheeta” yaagis.
14 And when he had called all the people [to him], he said to them, Hearken to me every one [of you], and understand.
Yesuusi daro asaa qassika baakko xeegidi, “Ubbay taani odeyssa si7itenne akeekite.
15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him, can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
Asa wozanappe keyaabay ase tuniseesippe attin kareppe asa ulo gelidi ase tunisiyabay aybikka baawa.
16 If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Si7iya haythi de7iya oonikka si7o” yaagis.
17 And when he had entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
Yesuusi daro asaa yeggi aggidi soo gelin iya tamaareti he leemisuwabaa iya oychchidosona.
18 And he saith to them, Are ye so void of understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatever thing from without entereth into the man, [it] cannot defile him.
I enttako, “Hinttewuka qassi gelibeennee? Kareppe asa wozanan geliyabay aybikka ase tunisanaw dandda7onnayssa akeeketii?
19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all kinds of food.
Ays giikko, kathi asa ulo giddo gelidi kanthidi aadhdheesippe attin asa wozana giddo gelenna” yaagis. Hessan Yesuusi kathi ubbay geeshshi gideyssa erisis.
20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
Kaallidikka, Yesuusi, “Asa tunisiyabay asa wozana giddofe keyaabaa.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Asa wozana giddofe keyaabay iita qofa, laymatethi, kayso, ase wodho, laame,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness;
iita amo, iitatethi, gene, qayxe, cimo, qanaate, cashshe, otoronne boozatethi.
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Ha iitabay ubbayka asa wozana giddofe keyidi ase tunisees” yaagis.
24 And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into a house, and would have no man know [it]: but he could not be hid.
Yesuusi yaappe keyidi, Xiiroosa katama matan de7iya biittaa bis. I issi keethi gelidi yan de7eyssa oonikka erana mela koyibeenna. Shin qosettidi gam77anaw dandda7ibeenna.
25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
Shin I guutha na7iw tuna ayyaanay oykkida issi maccasiya Yesuusabaa si7ada ellesa iyaakko yada iya tohuwa bolla kunddasu.
26 (The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation, ) and she besought him that he would cast forth the demon out of her daughter.
Iya Ayhude maccasi gidukku; iya yelettiday Siroofinqe giya biittana. Iya, ba na7eeppe tuna ayyaanaa kessana mela Yesuusa woossasu.
27 But Jesus said to her, Let the children first be satisfied: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] to the dogs.
Shin Yesuusi zaaridi, “Nayti koyrottidi kathaa kallo; nayta kathaa ekkidi kanatas yeggeyssi lo77o gidenna” yaagis.
28 And she answered and said to him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crums.
Maccasiya zaarada, “Ta Godaw hessi tuma, shin gaytaa matan de7iya kanati naytappe wodhdhiya tiifiya moosona” yaagasu.
29 And he said to her, For this saying, depart; the demon is gone out of thy daughter.
Yesuusi qassi iikko, “Ha ne qaala gisho, ne soo ba; tuna ayyaanay ne na7eeppe keys” yaagis.
30 And when she had come to her house, she found the demon had gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
Maccasiya ba soo biya wode tuna ayyaanay iippe keyin hiixan zin77idaaro demmasu.
31 And again, departing from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, he came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the borders of Decapolis.
Yesuusi Xiiroosa katamatappe keyidi, Sidoonaranne Tammu Katamata giya biittaara kanthidi Galiila Abbaako bis.
32 And they bring to him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
Asay tullenne waayidi odettiya asi Yesuusakko ehidi, ba kushiya iya bolla wothana mela iya woossidosona.
33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue.
Yesuusi barkka he uraa daro asappe gaxa kessidi, ba biradhdhiya iya haythan yeddis. Qassi cuchchi cuttidi iya inxarssaa bochchis.
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith to him, Effatha, that is, Be opened.
Salo pude xeellidi, tooki shemppidi, “Eftah” gis. Birshshethaykka “Dooyetta” guussu.
35 And immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plain.
Uraa haythay ellesidi dooyettis, qashettida inxarssaykka birshshettis, uray geeshshidi odettis.
36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them; so much the more a great deal they published [it];
Yesuusi asa ubbaas, “Hayssa oodeskka odoppite” yaagis. Shin I daro minthidi odoppite gin, asay odaa yaa darssis.
37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well; he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
Hessa si7ida asay ubbay daro malaalettidi, “Ubbabaa I loythi oothees. Hari attoshin, tulliya sissees, muumiya odisees” yaagidosona.
