Mark 6
1 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country, and his disciples follow him.
Dann ging er weg von dort und kam in seine Vaterstadt, und seine Jünger folgten ihm.
2 And when the sabbath was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing [him] were astonished, saying, From whence hath this [man] these things? and what wisdom [is] this which is given to him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
Am nächsten Sabbat fing er an, in dem Versammlungshaus zu lehren. Viele der Hörer sprachen voll Staunen: "Woher hat er das? Welche Weisheit ist ihm verliehen? Und solche Wunder geschehen durch seine Hände?
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
Ist das nicht der Tischler, der Sohn Marias und der Bruder des Jakobus, Joses, Judas und Simon? wohnen nicht auch seine Schwestern hier bei uns?" Und sie wollten nichts von ihm wissen.
4 But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and among his own kindred, and in his own house.
Da sprach Jesus zu ihnen: "Ein Prophet gilt nirgends so wenig wie in seiner Heimat und bei seinen Verwandten und Hausgenossen."
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick persons, and healed [them].
Er konnte dort auch kein einziges Wunder tun; nur einige Kranke machte er durch Handauflegung gesund.
6 And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went around the villages teaching.
Und er war verwundert über ihren Unglauben. Dann durchzog er lehrend die Dörfer im Umkreis.
7 And he calleth [to him] the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
Darauf rief er die Zwölf herbei und begann sie zu Zweien auszusenden. Dabei gab er ihnen Macht über die unreinen Geister.
8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for [their] journey, save a staff only; no bag, no bread, no money in [their] purse:
Er befahl ihnen, außer einem Wanderstab nicht mit auf den Weg zu nehmen: kein Brot, keinen Ranzen, kein Geld im Gürtel;
9 But [be] shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.
"aber", so fuhr er fort, "ihr sollt Schuhe tragen, doch nicht zwei Unterkleider anziehen."
10 And he said to them, In whatever place ye enter into a house, there abide till ye depart from that place.
Ferner sprach er zu ihnen: "In jedem Haus, wo ihr Eingang findet, da bleibt, bis ihr weiterwandert!
11 And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence shake off the dust under your feet, for a testimony against them. Verily I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Wo man euch aber nicht aufnimmt und hören will, den Ort verlaßt und schüttelt den Staub von euern Füßen, zum Zeugnis wider sie!"
12 And they went out and preached that men should repent.
So zogen sie aus und forderten zur Sinnesänderung auf.
13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed [them].
Sie trieben viele böse Geister aus; viele Kranke salbten sie mit Öl und heilten sie.
14 And king Herod heard [of him] (for his name was spread abroad: ) and he said, That John the Baptist had risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do show forth themselves in him.
Auch der König Herodes hörte von Jesus, denn sein Name war in aller Mund. Einige sagten: "Johannes der Täufer ist von den Toten auferstanden; darum sind die Wunderkräfte in ihm wirksam."
15 Others said, That it is Elijah. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
Andere meinten: "Er ist Elia", wieder andere: "Er ist ein Prophet, ähnlich den Propheten der alten Zeit."
16 But when Herod heard [of him], he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he hath risen from the dead.
Als aber Herodes davon hörte, sprach er: "Es ist Johannes, den ich habe enthaupten lassen; der ist wieder auferstanden!"
17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.
Herodes hatte nämlich Johannes festnehmen lassen und in Ketten gefangengehalten wegen Herodias, der Frau seines Bruders Philippus. Die hatte Herodes geheiratet.
18 For John had said to Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
Aber Johannes hatte ihm gesagt: "Du darfst deines Bruders Weib nicht zur Frau haben."
19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
Deshalb haßte ihn Herodias, und sie wollte ihn zu Tode bringen. Doch das gelang nicht.
20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just and holy man, and observed him: and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
Denn Herodes hatte Ehrfurcht vor Johannes. Er kannte ihn als einen gerechten und heiligen Mann. Darum nahm er ihn in Schutz. Und oft, wenn er ihn hörte, bekam er starke Gewissensbedenken; trotzdem hörte er ihn gern.
21 And when a convenient day had come, that Herod on his birth-day made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief [men] of Galilee;
Endlich kam für Herodias eine gelegene Stunde; Herodes gab an seinem Geburtstag seinen hohen Würdenträgern und ersten Hauptleuten und den Vornehmen von Galiläa ein Festgelage.
22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod, and them that sat with him, the king said to the damsel, Ask of me whatever thou wilt, and I will give [it] thee.
Da trat die Tochter der Herodias ein und tanzte. Damit gefiel sie Herodes und seinen Gästen. Und der König sprach zu dem Mädchen: "Erbitte von mir, was du willst; du sollst es haben!"
23 And he swore to her, Whatever thou shalt ask of me, I will give [it] thee, to the half of my kingdom.
Ja er schwur ihr: "Was du von mir verlangst, das will ich dir geben, und sei es die Hälfte meines Königreichs."
24 And she went forth, and said to her mother, What shall I ask? and she said, The head of John the Baptist.
Da ging sie hinaus und fragte ihre Mutter: "Was soll ich mir fordern?" Die sagte: "Das Haupt Johannes des Täufers."
25 And she came in forthwith with haste to the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou shouldst give me, immediately, in a dish, the head of John the Baptist.
Gleich ging sie in Eile wieder zum König hinein und bat ihn: "Laß mir sofort auf einer Schüssel das Haupt Johannes des Täufers geben!"
26 And the king was exceeding sorry: [yet] for his oath's sake, and for their sakes who sat with him, he would not reject her.
Da ward der König aufs tiefste betrübt. Aber um seines Eides und seiner Gäste willen wollte er ihr die Bitte nicht versagen.
27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
So sandte denn der König auf der Stelle einen seiner Leibwächter hin mit dem Befehl, des Johannes Haupt zu bringen. Der ging und enthauptete ihn im Gefängnis.
28 And brought his head in a dish, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
Dann brachte er sein Haupt auf einer Schüssel und gab es dem Mädchen, und das Mädchen gab's ihrer Mutter.
29 And when his disciples heard [of it], they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
Als die Jünger des Johannes dies erfuhren, da kamen sie, holten seinen Leichnam und begruben ihn.
30 And the apostles assembled themselves to Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
Die Apostel berichteten Jesus bei ihrer Rückkehr alles, was sie getan und gelehrt hatten.
31 And he said to them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
Da sprach er zu ihnen: "Kommt, laßt uns allein in eine menschenleere Gegend gehen: da ruht ein wenig!" Denn es war ein ständiges Kommen und Gehen, und sie fanden nicht einmal Zeit zum Essen.
32 And they departed into a desert place in a boat privately.
Da fuhren sie allein in ihrem Boot an einen abgelegenen Ort.
33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran on foot thither out of all cities, and out went them, and came together to him.
Aber viele sahen sie abfahren und erkannten sie. So kam es, daß aus allen Städten dort, wohin das Boot steuerte, Leute zu Fuß zusammenliefen und noch vor ihnen den Ort erreichten.
34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw many people, and was moved with compassion towards them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
Als Jesus aus dem Boot stieg, sah er eine große Schar. Er empfand tiefes Mitleid bei dem Anblick der Leute, denn sie waren wie Schafe ohne Hirten. Und er begann, sie über vieles zu belehren.
35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came to him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time [is] far passed:
Als der Tag zur Neige ging, traten seine Jünger zu ihm und sprachen: "Die Gegend hier ist unbewohnt, und es ist schon spät.
36 Send them away, that they may go into the country around, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
Laß deshalb die Leute ziehen, damit sie in die umliegenden Gehöfte und Dörfer gehen und sich Lebensmittel kaufen."
37 He answered and said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they say to him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
Er aber antwortete: "Gebt ihr ihnen doch zu essen!" Da entgegneten sie ihm: "Sollen wir hingehen und für zweihundert Silberlinge Brot kaufen und ihnen zu essen geben?"
38 He saith to them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
Da fragte er sie: "Wieviel Brote habt ihr? Geht hin, seht nach!" Sie sahen nach und sagten: "Fünf und außerdem zwei Fische."
39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
Da befahl er ihnen, alle sollten sich gruppenweise auf dem grünen Rasen lagern.
40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
Und sie setzten sich in Scharen zu hundert und zu fünfzig nieder.
41 And when he had taken the five loaves, and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave [them] to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes he divided among them all.
Nun nahm er die fünf Brote und die beiden Fische, sah auf zum Himmel und sprach den Lobpreis. Dann brach er die Brote und gab sie seinen Jüngern, damit sie sie den Leuten vorlegten. Auch die beiden Fische teilte er unter sie alle.
42 And they all ate, and were satisfied.
So aßen alle und wurden satt.
43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
Ja man las noch zwölf große Körbe voll Brocken auf, dazu auch Überbleibsel von den Fischen.
44 And they that ate of the loaves, were about five thousand men.
Die aber von den Broten gegessen hatten, deren Zahl betrug fünftausend Mann.
45 And immediately he constrained his disciples to get into the boat, and to go to the other side before to Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
Gleich darauf drängte er seine Jünger, in das Boot zu gehen und an das andere Ufer nach Bethsaida vorauszufahren, während er selbst das Volk entlassen wollte.
46 And when he had dismissed them, he departed to a mountain to pray.
Als er die Leute verabschiedet hatte, ging er auf die Bergeshöhe, um dort zu beten.
47 And when evening was come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
Beim Eintritt der Dunkelheit war das Boot mitten auf dem See und er allein auf dem Land.
48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary to them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh to them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
Da sah er, wie sie große Mühe beim Rudern hatten, denn sie fuhren gegen den Wind. Um die vierte Nachtwache kam er, über den See hinwandelnd, auf sie zu,
49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out.
als wollte er an ihnen vorübergehen. Als sie ihn so auf dem See wandeln sahen, meinten sie, es wäre ein Gespenst, und schrien auf.
50 (For they all saw him, and were troubled.) And immediately he talked with them, and saith to them, Be of good cheer: It is I; be not afraid.
Denn alle sahen ihn und waren voll Entsetzen. Aber alsbald redete er sie an. Er sprach zu ihnen: "Seid getrost, ich bin's; fürchtet euch nicht!"
51 And he went up to them into the boat; and the wind ceased: and they were greatly amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
Dann stieg er zu ihnen ins Boot: da legte sich der Wind. Darüber gerieten sie vor Staunen ganz außer sich.
52 For they considered not [the miracle] of the loaves; for their heart was hardened.
Denn durch die wunderbare Speisung mit den Broten hatten sie nichts gelernt: ihr Herz war stumpf und unempfänglich geblieben.
53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
Nach ihrer Überfahrt landeten sie in Genezaret und gingen dort vor Anker.
54 And when they had come out of the boat forthwith they knew him,
Als sie das Boot verließen, erkannten ihn die Leute sogleich:
55 And ran through that whole region around, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
sie eilten umher in der ganzen Gegend und trugen die Kranken auf ihren Betten hierhin und dorthin, wo er nach dem Gerücht sich aufhielt.
56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch, if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him, were healed.
In den Dörfern, Städten und Gehöften, wohin er kam, setzte man die Kranken auf die freien Plätze und bat ihn, daß sie nur die Quaste seines Mantels berühren dürften. Und alle, die sie berührten, wurden gesund.
