< Luke 21 >

1 And he looked up, and saw rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
Pea vakai atu ʻe ia, ʻo ne mamata ki he lī ʻe he kakai koloaʻia ʻenau meʻa foaki ki he tukuʻanga koloa.
2 And he saw also a certain poor widow, casting in thither two mites.
Pea mamata foki ʻe ia ki he fefine masiva, kuo mate hono husepāniti, ʻoku ne lī ki ai ʻae kihiʻi paʻanga ʻe ua.
3 And he said, Of a truth I say to you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all.
Pea pehē ʻe ia, “Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ou tala kiate kimoutolu, ko e fefine ni kuo mate hono husepāniti mo paea, kuo ne lī ki ai ʻo lahi hake ʻiate kinautolu kotoa pē:
4 For all these have of their abundance cast in to the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
He kuo lī ʻekinautolu ni kotoa pē ki ai ʻae ngaahi meʻa foaki ki he ʻOtua, mei heʻenau koloa lahi: ka kuo lī ʻe ia ki ai, mei heʻene masiva, ʻa ʻene moʻui kotoa pē.”
5 And as some spoke of the temple, that it was adorned with goodly stones, and gifts, he said,
Pea ʻi he lea ʻae niʻihi ki he falelotu lahi, ki hono teungaʻaki ʻae ngaahi maka lelei mo e ngaahi meʻa foaki, ne pehē ʻe ia,
6 [As for] these things which ye behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that will not be thrown down.
“Ko e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku mou mamata ki ai ni, ʻe hoko ʻae ngaahi ʻaho ʻe ʻikai mahili ai ha maka ki ha maka, ka ʻe laku kotoa pē ki lalo.”
7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when will these things be? and what sign [will there be] when these things shall come to pass?
Pea naʻa nau fehuʻi kiate ia, ʻo pehē, “ʻEiki, ʻe hoko afe ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni? Pea ko e hā ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻoka hoko ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni?”
8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many will come in my name, saying, I am [Christ]; and the time draweth near: therefore go ye not after them.
Pea pehē ʻe ia, “Vakai, telia naʻa kākaaʻi ʻakimoutolu: koeʻuhi ʻe haʻu ʻae tokolahi ʻi hoku hingoa ʻonau pehē, ‘Ko au ia;’ pea ‘ʻOku ofi mai ʻae ʻaho:’ ko ia ʻoua naʻa mou muimui kiate kinautolu.
9 But when ye shall hear of wars, and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass: but the end [is] not immediately.
Ka ʻoka mou ka fanongo ki he ngaahi tau mo e ngaahi maveuveu, ʻoua naʻa mou ilifia: koeʻuhi ʻe tomuʻa hoko ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni; ka ʻe ʻikai vave ʻae ngataʻanga.”
10 Then said he to them, Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
Pea toki pehē ʻe ia kiate kinautolu, “ʻE tuʻu hake ʻae kakai ki he kakai, mo e puleʻanga ki he puleʻanga;
11 And great earthquakes will be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences: and fearful sights, and great signs will there be from heaven.
Pea ʻe hoko ʻae ngaahi mofuike lahi ʻi he potu kehekehe, mo e honge, mo e ngaahi mahaki lahi; pea ʻe hā mai mei he langi ʻae ngaahi meʻa fakailifia mo e ngaahi fakaʻilonga lahi.
12 But before all these they will lay their hands on you, and persecute [you], delivering [you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
Kae teʻeki ai ke hoko eni, te nau pukea ʻakimoutolu, mo fakatangaʻi, mo tukuange [ʻakimoutolu ]ki he ngaahi falelotu, mo e ngaahi fale fakapōpula, ʻonau ʻomi ʻakimoutolu ki he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi mo e pule, koeʻuhi ko hoku hingoa.
13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
Pea ʻe hoko ia ko e fakamoʻoni kiate kimoutolu.
14 Settle [it] therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer.
Ko ia ke fakapapau homou loto, ke ʻoua naʻa tomuʻa fakakaukau ʻaia te mou tali ʻaki:
15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
He te u foaki kiate kimoutolu ʻae ngutu mo e poto, ʻe ʻikai faʻa tali pe taʻofia ʻe homou ngaahi fili kotoa pē.
16 And ye will be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsmen, and friends; and [some] of you will they cause to be put to death.
Ka ʻe lavakiʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻe he mātuʻa, mo e tokoua, mo e kāinga, mo e kaumeʻa; pea te nau tāmateʻi homou niʻihi.
17 And ye will be hated by all [men] for my name's sake.
Pea ʻe fehiʻanekina ʻakimoutolu ʻi he kakai kotoa pē koeʻuhi ko hoku hingoa.
18 But there shall not a hair of your head perish.
Ka ʻe ʻikai mole ha tuʻoni louʻulu ʻi homou ʻulu.
19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
Mou maʻu ʻi hoʻomou faʻa kātaki ʻa homou laumālie.
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that its desolation is nigh.
“Pea ʻoka mou ka mamata ki he kāpui ʻo Selūsalema ʻaki ʻae ngaahi matatau, mou toki ʻilo kuo ofi hono fakaʻauha.
21 Then let them who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them who are in the midst of it depart [from it]; and let not them that are in the countries enter into it.
Pea tuku ke toki feholaki ai ki he ngaahi moʻunga ʻakinautolu ʻoku ʻi Siutea; pea ko kinautolu ʻoku ʻi kolo ke nau ʻalu atu; pea ʻoua naʻa hū ki ai ʻakinautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi he tukuʻuta.
22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
He ko e ‘ngaahi ʻaho eni ʻoe totongi,’ koeʻuhi ke fakamoʻoni ʻae meʻa kotoa pē kuo tohi.
23 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that nurse infants in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
Ka ʻe malaʻia ʻakinautolu ʻe feitama, mo kinautolu ʻe toutama, ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia! Koeʻuhi ʻe ai ʻae mamahi lahi ki he fonua, mo e houhau ki he kakai ni.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles shall be fulfilled.
Pea ʻe tō ʻakinautolu ʻi he mata ʻoe heletā, pea ʻe taki pōpula ki he puleʻanga kotoa pē: pea ʻe malaki hifo ʻa Selūsalema ʻe he kakai Senitaile, kaeʻoua ke kakato ʻae kuonga ʻoe kakai Senitaile.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
“Pea ʻe ai ʻae ngaahi fakaʻilonga ʻi he laʻā, mo e māhina, mo e ngaahi fetuʻu; pea ʻe ʻi he māmani ʻae mamahi ʻoe ngaahi kakai, mo e puputuʻu, koeʻuhi ko e ʻuʻulu ʻae tahi mo e ngaahi peau:
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for apprehension of those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Ka ʻe mole ʻae loto ʻoe kakai ʻi he manavahē, mo tuʻotuʻatamaki ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻe hoko ki māmani: koeʻuhi ʻe ngalulululu ʻae ngaahi mālohi ʻoe langi.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with power and great glory.
Pea te nau toki mamata ki he Foha ʻoe tangata ʻoku haʻu ʻi he ngaahi ʻao, mo e mālohi mo e nāunau lahi.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads: for your redemption draweth nigh.
Pea ʻi he kamata hoko mai ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni, mou sio hake, pea hanga hake homou ʻulu; he ʻoku ofi mai homou huhuʻi.”
29 And he spoke to them a parable; Behold the fig-tree, and all the trees;
Pea naʻe lea ʻaki ʻe ia ʻae fakatātā kiate kinautolu; “Vakai ki he ʻakau ko e fiki, pea mo e ngaahi ʻakau kotoa pē;
30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your ownselves that summer is now nigh at hand.
‌ʻOka tupu hono muka, ʻoku mou mamata, pea mou ʻilo ai ʻoku ofi mai ʻae faʻahitaʻu mafana.
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
Pea ʻe pehē foki ʻakimoutolu, ʻoka mou ka mamata ki he hoko ʻoe ngaahi meʻa ni, mou ʻilo ʻoku ofi mai ʻae puleʻanga ʻoe ʻOtua.
32 Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
“Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ou tala kiate kimoutolu, ʻE ʻikai mole ʻae toʻutangata ni, kaeʻoua ke fakamoʻoni kotoa pē.
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my word shall not pass away.
‌ʻE mole ʻae langi mo māmani; ka ʻe ʻikai mole ʻa ʻeku ngaahi lea.
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares.
“Kae vakai kiate kimoutolu, telia naʻa ʻiloange kuo taʻomia homou loto ʻi he kai fekinaki, mo e kona, mo e tokanga ki he moʻui ni, pea hoko fakafokifā ai ʻae ʻaho ko ia kiate kimoutolu.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Koeʻuhi ʻe hoko ia ʻo hangē ko e hele kiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku nau nofo ʻi he funga ʻo māmani fulipē.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Ko ia mou leʻo, pea lotu maʻuaipē, koeʻuhi ke mou ʻaonga ke hao mei he ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē ʻe hoko, pea ke tutuʻu ʻi he ʻao ʻoe Foha ʻoe tangata.”
37 And in the day-time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called [the mount] of Olives.
Pea naʻe ako ia ʻi he ʻaho ʻi he falelotu lahi; pea ʻi he pō, naʻa ne ʻalu kituaʻā ʻo nofo ʻi he moʻunga ʻoku ui ko ʻOlive.
38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear him.
Pea naʻe haʻu hengihengi ʻae kakai kotoa pē kiate ia ʻi he falelotu lahi, ke nau fanongo kiate ia.
