Leviticus 18
1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, I [am] the LORD your God.
Parle aux fils d'Israël, dis-leur: Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu;
3 After the doings of the land of Egypt in which ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
Vous ne vous conduirez pas selon les mœurs de l'Egypte, où vous avez demeuré; vous ne vous conduirez pas selon les mœurs de la terre de Chanaan, où je vous mène; vous ne marcherez point suivant leurs lois.
4 Ye shall perform my judgments, and keep my ordinances, to walk in them; I [am] the LORD your God.
Vous exécuterez mes jugements, vous observerez mes préceptes, et vous marcherez selon ce qu'ils prescrivent: je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments: which if a man doeth, he shall live in them: I [am] the LORD.
Vous garderez tous mes préceptes et tous mes jugements, et vous les exécuterez. L'homme qui les exécutera vivra par eux: je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover [their] nakedness: I am the LORD.
Nul homme ne s'approchera d'une parente de sa chair, pour mettre à découvert sa nudité: je suis le Seigneur.
7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she [is] thy mother, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de ton père ni de ta mère; c'est ta mère, tu ne mettras pas à découvert sa nudité.
8 The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it [is] thy father's nakedness.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de ta belle-mère; c'est la nudité de ton père.
9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, [whether] born at home, or born abroad, [even] their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de ta sœur consanguine ou utérine, née à la maison ou dehors.
10 The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, [even] their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs [is] thy own nakedness.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de la fille de ton fils, ni de la fille de ta fille; c'est ta propre nudité.
11 The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten by thy father, (she [is] thy sister) thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de la fille de ta belle-mère; elle est comme ta sœur consanguine, tu ne mettras pas à découvert sa nudité.
12 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she [is] thy father's near kinswoman.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de la sœur de ton père; elle est des proches de ton père.
13 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she [is] thy mother's near kinswoman.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de la sœur de ta mère; elle est des proches de ta mère.
14 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she [is] thy aunt.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité du frère de ton père, et tu n'auras pas commerce avec sa femme; car vous êtes proches.
15 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter-in-law: she [is] thy son's wife, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de ta bru; c'est la femme de ton fils, tu ne mettras pas à découvert sa nudité.
16 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it [is] thy brother's nakedness.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de la femme de ton frère; c'est la nudité de ton frère.
17 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; [for] they [are] her near kinswomen: it [is] wickedness.
Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de cette femme ni de sa fille; tu ne prendras pas la fille de son fils, ni la fille de sa fille, pour mettre sa nudité à découvert; elles sont tes proches, et ce serait une impiété.
18 Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex [her], to uncover her nakedness besides the other in her life -[time].
Tu ne donneras pas à ta femme, encore vivante, sa sœur pour rivale, et tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de celle-ci.
19 Also thou shalt not approach to a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
Tu ne t'approcheras pas de la femme pour mettre sa nudité à découvert, quand elle est assise à part à cause de son impiété.
20 Moreover, thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbor's wife, to defile thyself with her.
Tu n'auras pas commerce avec la femme de ton prochain, pour te souiller avec elle.
21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through [the fire] to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I [am] the LORD.
Tu ne donneras pas de tes enfants pour qu'ils servent Moloch, et tu ne souilleras pas mon nom saint: je suis le Seigneur.
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.
Tu n'auras pas commerce avec un autre homme, comme avec une femme, car c'est une abomination,
23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it [is] confusion.
Tu n'auras pas commerce avec un quadrupède, pour te souiller avec lui; nulle femme n'aura commerce avec un quadrupède, car c'est une abomination.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things; for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
Ne vous souillez d'aucune de ces choses; car toutes les nations que je vais chasser devant vous en sont souillées.
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit its iniquity upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
La terre en est souillée, et c'est à cause de leur iniquité que je les punis; la terre s'est soulevée d'horreur contre ceux qui l'habitent.
26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit [any] of these abominations; [neither] any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you.
Vous observerez toutes mes lois, tous mes préceptes, et vous ne commettrez aucune de ces abominations, pas plus l'indigène que le prosélyte établi parmi vous.
27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, who [were] before you, and the land is defiled; )
Car ce sont toutes les abominations qu'ont commises les hommes de cette terre qui vous ont précédés.
28 That the land may not vomit you out also, when ye defile it, as it vomited out the nations that [were] before you.
De peur que la terre ne se soulève d'horreur contre vous, parce que vous la souilleriez; elle s'est soulevée contre les nations qui vous précèdent.
29 For whoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit [them] shall be cut off from among their people.
C'est pourquoi quiconque commettra quelqu'une de ces abominations, sera exterminé parmi son peuple.
30 Therefore shall ye keep my ordinance, that [ye] commit not [any one] of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves in them; I [am] the LORD your God.
Vous observerez mes préceptes, afin que vous ne suiviez en rien toutes ces coutumes abominables qui ont existé avant vous, et que vous n'en soyez point souillés; car je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
