< Lamentations 4 >
1 How is the gold become dim! [how] is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out at the head of every street.
Aleke sika bu eƒe keklẽ eye sika nyui nyɔ vĩ ale! Wokaka kpe kɔkɔeawo ɖe kpɔdome ƒe dzogoewo katã dzi.
2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
Aleke Zion viŋutsu vevi siwo ŋu kpekpeme nɔ tsã abe sika ene la, le azɔ abe anyize si nye zemela ƒe asinudɔwɔwɔ ene!
3 Even the sea-monsters draw out the breast, they nurse their young ones: the daughter of my people [is become] cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
Amegaxiwo kekeake gɔ̃ hã naa no wo viwo wonona gake nye amewo va zu ŋlɔmitɔwo abe tsatsaboli le dzogbe ene.
4 The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, [and] no man breaketh [it] to them.
Tsikɔ na be vidzĩwo ƒe aɖe lé ɖe nu me na wo; ɖevi suewo bia abolo kple kukuɖeɖe gake ame aɖeke meli ana wo o.
5 They that fed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.
Ame siwo ɖu nu vivi kpeɖiwo tsã la, zu ame ɖigbɔ̃wo le kpɔdomewo. Ame siwo ta ago veviwo tsã la, mlɔ gbeɖuɖɔ me fifia.
6 For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
Nye amewo ƒe tohehe lolo wu Sodom tɔ, du si wogbã ƒu anyi le aɖabaƒoƒo ɖeka me eye asi aɖeke meli akpe ɖe eŋu o.
7 Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing [was] of sapphire:
Woƒe dumegãwo da dzo wu sno, wofu wu nyinotsi, woƒe ŋutilã biã wu soe eye woƒe dzedzeme le abe gbloti ene.
8 Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.
Ke azɔ la, wonyɔ wu zemabi eye ame aɖeke gɔ̃ hã medzea si wo le kpɔdomewo o. Woƒe ŋutigbalẽ lé ɖe woƒe ƒu ŋuti kpaɖii, eye woƒu abe nake ene.
9 [They that are] slain with the sword are better than [they that are] slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for [want of] the fruits of the field.
Ame siwo tsi yi nu la tɔ nyo wu ame siwo ku ɖe dɔwuame ta. Elabena dɔwuame na wogbɔdzɔ, heɖiku glãŋui, le agblemenuku ƒe anyimanɔmanɔ ta.
10 The hands of the pitiful women have boiled their own children: they were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Nyɔnu siwo ame ƒe nu wɔa nublanui na la tsɔ woawo ŋutɔ ƒe asiwo lé wo viwo ɖa, eye wozu nuɖuɖu na wo esi wonɔ nye amewo tsrɔ̃m.
11 The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured her foundations.
Yehowa nyɔ eƒe dziku ƒe aɖi katã eye wòtrɔ eƒe dɔmedzoe helĩhelĩ kɔ ɖi. Edo dzo ɖe Zion eye wòfia eƒe gɔmeɖokpewo.
12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy would have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
Anyigbadzifiawo mexɔe se kaka, amewo nayi exɔ ge ase be, futɔwo kple ketɔwo ate ŋu age ɖe Yerusalem ƒe agbowo me o.
13 For the sins of her prophets, [and] the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her.
Gake edzɔ, le eƒe Nyagblɔɖilawo ƒe nu vɔ̃ kple eƒe nunɔlawo ƒe nu tovowo ta, ame siwo kɔ ame dzɔdzɔewo ƒe ʋu ɖe dua me.
14 They have wandered [as] blind [men] in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.
Azɔ wole asi tsam le kpɔdomewo abe ŋkuagbãtɔwo ene. Woƒo ʋu ale gbegbe be, ame aɖeke medo dzi ka asi woƒe awuwo ŋuti o.
15 They cried to them, Depart ye; [it is] unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn [there].
Amewo doa ɣli ɖe wo ta be, “Midzo le afi sia! Mi ame makɔmakɔwo! Mite yi! Mite yi! Migaka asi mía ŋuti o!” Ke esi wosi dzo le tsaglãla tsam la, amewo le dukɔwo me gblɔna na wo be, “Womate ŋu aganɔ teƒe sia o.”
16 The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favored not the elders.
Yehowa ŋutɔe kaka wo, megale wo ta kpɔm o. Womegadea bubu nunɔlawo ŋu alo vea dumegãwo nu o.
17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation [that] could not save [us].
Gawu la, ɖeɖi te míaƒe ŋkuwo ŋu esi wole mɔ kpɔm na kpekpeɖeŋu si meli o; tso míaƒe gbetakpɔxɔwo me, míekpɔ mɔ na dukɔ si mate ŋu aɖe mí o la be wòava.
18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.
Amewo le ŋku lém ɖe míaƒe afɔɖeɖe ɖe sia ɖe ŋu ale gbegbe be, míagate ŋu ado go azɔ le míaƒe ablɔwo dzi o. Míaƒe nuwuwu tu aƒe, woxlẽ míaƒe ŋkekewo elabena míaƒe nuwuwu va ɖo.
19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
Ame siwo le mía yome tim la ɖia du wu hɔ̃ le yame; woti mía yome le towo dzi eye wode xa ɖi na mí le gbegbe.
20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through to thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.
O, Edom vinyɔnu, tso aseye, wò ame si le Uznyigba dzi. Gake wòe woatsɔ kplu la ade asi na, amu wò eye woaɖe ama wò.
22 The punishment of thy iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thy iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will disclose thy sins.
O, Zion vinyɔnu, wò tohehe awu enu, wò aboyomenɔnɔ magadzi ɖe edzi o. Gake O, Edom vinyɔnu ahe to na wò nu vɔ̃wo eye wòaɖe wò vɔ̃ɖinyenye ɖe go.
