Lamentations 3
1 I [am] the man [that] hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
Mimi ni mwanaume nilyeona maangaiko chini ya gongo la hasira ya Yahweh.
2 He hath led me, and brought [me into] darkness, but not [into] light.
Amenifukuza na kunisababisha kutembea kwenye giza kuliko kwenye nuru.
3 Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand [against me] all the day.
Hakika amenigeuzia mkono wake dhidi yangu tena na tena, siku yote.
4 My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
Amefanya mwili wangu na ngozi yangu kufifia; amevunja mifupa yangu.
5 He hath built against me, and compassed [me] with gall and labor.
Amejenga vifusi vya udogo dhidi yangu, na kunizingira na uchungu na ugumu.
6 He hath set me in dark places, as [they that are] dead of old.
Amefanya ni ishi sehemu za giza, kama hao walio kufa zamani.
7 He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
Amejenga ukuta kunizunguka na siwezi kutoroka. Amefanya minyororo yangu mizito
8 Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
na japo nina ita na kulilia msaada, anazima maombi yangu.
9 He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
Ameziba njia yangu kwa ukuta wa mawe ya kuchonga; amefanya njia yangu mbaya.
10 He [was] to me [as] a bear lying in wait, [and as] a lion in secret places.
Yeye ni kama dubu anasubiri kunishambulia, simba katika maficho;
11 He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
amegeuza pembeni njia zangu, amenifanya ukiwa.
12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
Amepindisha upinde wake na kunifanya mimi kama lengo la mshale wake.
13 He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
Ametoboa maini yangu kwa mishale ya mfuko wake.
14 I was a derision to all my people; [and] their song all the day.
Nilikuwa kichekesho kwa watu wangu wote, kielelezo cha dhihaka yao siku nzima.
15 He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
Amenijaza kwa uchungu na kunilazimisha kunywa maji machungu.
16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
Alivunja meno yangu na kokoto; amenisukuma chini kwenye fumbi.
17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
Nafsi yangu imenyimwa amani; nimesahau furaha ni nini.
18 And I said, My strength and my hope hath perished from the LORD:
Hivyo na sema, “Ustahimilivu wangu umeangamia na pia tumaini langu kwa Yahweh.”
19 Remembering my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
Kumbuka mateso yangu na kuangaika kwangu, maji machungu na uchungu.
20 My soul hath [them] still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
Ninaendelea kukumbuka na nimeinama ndani yangu.
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
Lakini ni vuta hili akilini mwangu na hivyo nina matumaini:
22 [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
Upendo dhabiti wa Yahweh haukomi na huruma zake haziishi,
23 [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.
ni mpya kila asubui; uaminifu wako ni mkubwa.
24 The LORD [is] my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
“Yahweh ni urithi wangu,” Nilisema, hivyo nitamtumainia.
25 The LORD [is] good to them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him.
Yahweh ni mwema kwao wanao msubiri, kwa anaye mtafuta.
26 [It is] good that [a man] should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
Ni vizuri kusubiri taratibu kwa uwokovu wa Yahweh.
27 [It is] good for a man that he should bear the yoke in his youth.
Ni vizuri kwa mtu kubeba nira katika ujana.
28 He sitteth alone, and keepeth silence, because he hath borne [it] upon him.
Acha aketi peke yake katika utulivu, inapo kuwa imewekwa juu yake.
29 He putteth his mouth in the dust; if there may be hope.
Acha aeke mdomo wake kwenye vumbi - kunaweza bado kuwa na matumaini.
30 He giveth [his] cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
Acha atoa shavu lake kwa yeye anaye mpiga, na ajazwe tele kwa aibu.
31 For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
Kwa kuwa Bwana hatatukataa milele,
32 But though he causeth grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
lakini japo anatia uzuni, ata kuwa na huruma kwa kadiri ya mwingi wa upendo wake dhabiti.
33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
Kwa kuwa haadhibu kutoka moyoni mwake au kutesa watoto wa mwanadamu.
34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
Kukanyaga chini ya mguu wafungwa wote wa dunia,
35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
kumnyima haki mtu mbele ya uwepo wa Aliye Juu,
36 To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not.
mkunyima haki mtu - Bwana hataidhinisha vitu kama hivyo!
37 Who [is] he [that] saith, and it cometh to pass, [when] the LORD commandeth [it] not?
Ni nani aliye zungumza na ikatimia, kama sio Bwana kutamka?
38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
Sio kutoka mdomoni mwa Aliye Juu majanga na mazuri yanakuja?
39 Why doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Mtu aliye hai anawezaje kulalamika? Mtu anawezaje kulalamika kwa adhabu ya dhambi zake?
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
Natujichunguze njia zetu na kuzijaribu, na tumrudie Yahweh.
41 Let us lift up our heart with [our] hands to God in the heavens.
Na tunyanyue mioyo yetu na mikono yetu kwa Yahweh mbinguni:
42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
“Tumekosea na kuasi, na haujasamehe.
43 Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
Umejifunika na hasira na kutukimbiza, umeua na haujanusuru.
44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that [our] prayer should not pass through.
Umejifunika na wingu ili kwamba kusiwe na ombi linaloweza kupita.
45 Thou hast made us [as] the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
Umetufanya kama uchafu na taka miongoni mwa mataifa.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
Maadui wetu wote wametulaani,
47 Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
wasiwasi na shimo limetujia, maafa na uharibifu.
48 My eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Macho yangu yanatiririka na miferiji ya machozi kwasababu ya watu wangu.
49 My eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
Macho yangu yatatoa machozi pasipo kikomo; pasipo hauweni,
50 Till the LORD shall look down, and behold from heaven.
mpaka atakapo tazama chini na Yahweh ataona kutoka mbinguni.
51 My eye affecteth my heart because of all the daughters of my city.
Macho yangu yana ni sababishia uzuni kwasababu ya mabinti wa mji wangu.
52 My enemies chased me fiercely, like a bird without cause.
Nimewindwa kama ndege hao walio kuwa maadui zangu; wameniwinda pasipo sababu.
53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
Wamenitupa kwenye shimo na wakanitupia jiwe,
54 Waters flowed over my head; [then] I said, I am cut off.
na maji yaka mwagika juu ya kichwa changu. Nilisema, “Nimekatwa mbali!”
55 I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
Nililiita jna lako, Yahweh, kutoka kina cha shimo.
56 Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thy ear at my breathing, at my cry.
Ulisikia sauti yangu. Ulisikia sauti yangu nilipo sema, “Usifunge sikio lako kwa kilio changu cha msaada.”
57 Thou drewest near in the day [that] I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
Ulikuja karibu siku niliyo kuiita; ulisema, “Usiogope”
58 O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
Bwana, ulitetea kesi yangu, uliokoa maisha yangu!
59 O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
Yahweh, umeona mabaya waliyo ni fanyia, hukumu kesi yangu.
60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance [and] all their imaginations against me.
Umeona matusi yao, mipango yao yote dhidi yangu -
61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, [and] all their imaginations against me;
Umesikia dhihaka yao, Yahweh, na mipango yao kunihusu.
62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
Midomo ya hao wanao inuka kinyume changu, na mashtaka yao, inakuja dhidi yangu siku nzima.
63 Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I [am] their music.
Ngalia jinsi wanavyo keti na kuinuka; wana nidhihaki na nyimbo zao.
64 Render to them a recompense, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
Walipize, Yahweh, kwa kadiri ya waliyo fanya.
65 Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse to them.
Utaacha mioyo yao bila lawama! Hukumu yako iwe juu yao!
66 Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
Una wakimbiza kwa hasira na kuwaharibu nchini ya mbingu, Yahweh!
