Lamentations 3
1 I [am] the man [that] hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
Eu sou aquelle homem que viu a afflicção pela vara do seu furor.
2 He hath led me, and brought [me into] darkness, but not [into] light.
A mim me guiou e levou ás trevas e não á luz.
3 Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand [against me] all the day.
Devéras se tornou contra mim e virou a sua mão todo o dia.
4 My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
Fez envelhecer a minha carne e a minha pelle, quebrantou os meus ossos.
5 He hath built against me, and compassed [me] with gall and labor.
Edificou contra mim, e me cercou de fel e trabalho.
6 He hath set me in dark places, as [they that are] dead of old.
Assentou-me em logares tenebrosos, como os que estavam mortos ha muito.
7 He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
Cercou-me de sebe, e não posso sair: aggravou os meus grilhões.
8 Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
Ainda quando clamo e grito, elle exclue a minha oração.
9 He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
Cercou de sebe os meus caminhos com pedras lavradas, divertiu as minhas veredas.
10 He [was] to me [as] a bear lying in wait, [and as] a lion in secret places.
Fez-se-me como urso de emboscada, um leão em esconderijos.
11 He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
Desviou os meus caminhos, e fez-me em pedaços; deixou-me assolado.
12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
Armou o seu arco, e me poz como alvo á frecha.
13 He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
Faz entrar nos meus rins as frechas da sua aljava.
14 I was a derision to all my people; [and] their song all the day.
Fui feito um objecto de escarneo a todo o meu povo, de canção sua todo o dia.
15 He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
Fartou-me de amarguras, embriagou-me de absintho.
16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
Quebrou com pedrinhas de areia os meus dentes; abaixou-me na cinza.
17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
E affastaste da paz a minha alma; esqueci-me do bem.
18 And I said, My strength and my hope hath perished from the LORD:
Então disse eu: Já pereceu a minha força, como tambem a minha esperança no Senhor.
19 Remembering my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
Lembra-te da minha afflicção e do meu pranto, do absintho e do fel.
20 My soul hath [them] still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
Minha alma certamente d'isto se lembra, e se abate em mim.
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
D'isto me recordarei no meu coração; por isso esperarei.
22 [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
As misericordias do Senhor são a causa de não sermos consumidos; porque as suas misericordias não teem fim.
23 [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.
Novas são cada manhã; grande é a tua fidelidade.
24 The LORD [is] my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
A minha porção é o Senhor, diz a minha alma; portanto esperarei n'elle.
25 The LORD [is] good to them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him.
Bom é o Senhor para os que se ateem a elle, para a alma que o busca.
26 [It is] good that [a man] should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
Bom é esperar, e aguardar em silencio a salvação do Senhor.
27 [It is] good for a man that he should bear the yoke in his youth.
Bom é para o homem levar o jugo na sua mocidade.
28 He sitteth alone, and keepeth silence, because he hath borne [it] upon him.
Assentar-se-ha solitario, e ficará em silencio; porquanto Deus o poz sobre elle.
29 He putteth his mouth in the dust; if there may be hope.
Ponha a sua bocca no pó, dizendo: Porventura haverá esperança.
30 He giveth [his] cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
Dê a sua face ao que o fere; farte-se de affronta.
31 For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
Porque o Senhor não rejeitará para sempre.
32 But though he causeth grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
Antes, se entristeceu a alguem, compadecer-se-ha d'elle, segundo a grandeza das suas misericordias.
33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
Porque não afflige nem entristece aos filhos dos homens do seu coração.
34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
Para atropellar debaixo dos seus pés a todos os presos da terra.
35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
Para perverter o direito do homem perante a face do Altissimo.
36 To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not.
Para subverter ao homem no seu pleito; porventura não o veria o Senhor?
37 Who [is] he [that] saith, and it cometh to pass, [when] the LORD commandeth [it] not?
Quem é aquelle que diz, e assim acontece, quando o Senhor o não mande?
38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
Porventura da bocca do Altissimo não sae o mal e o bem?
39 Why doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
De que se queixa logo o homem vivente? queixe-se cada um dos seus peccados.
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
Esquadrinhemos os nossos caminhos, e investiguemol-os, e voltemos para o Senhor.
41 Let us lift up our heart with [our] hands to God in the heavens.
Levantemos os nossos corações com as mãos a Deus nos céus, dizendo:
42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
Nós prevaricámos, e fomos rebeldes; por isso tu não perdoaste.
43 Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
Cobriste-nos da tua ira, e nos perseguiste; mataste, não perdoaste.
44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that [our] prayer should not pass through.
Cobriste-te de nuvens, para que não passe a nossa oração.
45 Thou hast made us [as] the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
Por cisco e rejeitamento nos pozeste no meio dos povos.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
Todos os nossos inimigos abriram contra nós a sua bocca.
47 Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
Temor e cova vieram sobre nós, assolação e quebrantamento.
48 My eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Correntes de aguas derramou o meu olho pelo quebrantamento da filha do meu povo.
49 My eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
O meu olho manou, e não cessa, porquanto não ha descanço,
50 Till the LORD shall look down, and behold from heaven.
Até que attente e veja o Senhor desde os céus.
51 My eye affecteth my heart because of all the daughters of my city.
O meu olho move a minha alma, por causa de todas as filhas da minha cidade.
52 My enemies chased me fiercely, like a bird without cause.
Como ave me caçaram os que são meus inimigos sem causa.
53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
Arrancaram a minha vida na masmorra, e lançaram pedras sobre mim.
54 Waters flowed over my head; [then] I said, I am cut off.
Derramaram-se as aguas sobre a minha cabeça; eu disse: Estou cortado.
55 I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
Invoquei o teu nome, Senhor, desde a mais profunda cova.
56 Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thy ear at my breathing, at my cry.
Ouviste a minha voz; não escondas o teu ouvido ao meu suspiro, ao meu clamor.
57 Thou drewest near in the day [that] I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
Tu te chegaste no dia em que te invoquei; disseste: Não temas.
58 O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
Pleiteaste, Senhor, os pleitos da minha alma, remiste a minha vida.
59 O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
Viste, Senhor, a injustiça que me fizeram; julga a minha causa.
60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance [and] all their imaginations against me.
Viste toda a sua vingança, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim.
61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, [and] all their imaginations against me;
Ouviste o seu opprobrio, Senhor, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim,
62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
Os ditos dos que se levantam contra mim e as suas imaginações contra mim todo o dia.
63 Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I [am] their music.
Observa-os a elles ao assentarem-se e ao levantarem-se; eu sou a sua canção.
64 Render to them a recompense, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
Rende-lhes recompensa, Senhor, conforme a obra das suas mãos.
65 Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse to them.
Dá-lhes ancia de coração, maldição tua sobre elles.
66 Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
Na tua ira persegue-os, e desfal-os de debaixo dos céus do Senhor.
