Lamentations 3
1 I [am] the man [that] hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
૧હું એક એવો પુરુષ છું કે જેણે યહોવાહના કોપની સોટીથી દુઃખ ભોગવ્યું.
2 He hath led me, and brought [me into] darkness, but not [into] light.
૨તેમણે મને પ્રકાશમાં નહિ પણ અંધકારમાં દોરીને ચલાવ્યો.
3 Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand [against me] all the day.
૩તેઓ ચોક્કસ આખો દિવસ મારી વિરુદ્ધ અવારનવાર પોતાનો હાથ ફેરવે છે.
4 My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
૪તેમણે મારું માંસ તથા મારી ચામડીને નુકશાન પહોંચાડ્યું છે; તેમણે મારાં હાડકાં ભાંગી નાખ્યાં છે.
5 He hath built against me, and compassed [me] with gall and labor.
૫દુ: ખ અને સંતાપની કોટડીમાં પૂરીને તેમણે મને બાંધીને ઘેરી લીધો છે.
6 He hath set me in dark places, as [they that are] dead of old.
૬તેમણે મને પુરાતન કાળના મરણ પામેલા એક પુરુષની જેમ અંધકારમાં પૂરી રાખ્યો છે.
7 He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
૭તેમણે મને દીવાલથી ઘેરી લીધો છે, જેથી મારાથી બહાર નીકળાય નહિ. તેમણે ભારે સાંકળોથી મને બાંધી દીધો છે.
8 Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
૮જ્યારે હું પોકાર કરીને સહાય માગુ છું, ત્યારે તેઓ મારી પ્રાર્થના પાછી વાળે છે.
9 He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
૯તેમણે ઘડેલા પથ્થરોથી મારા માર્ગોને બંધ કર્યા છે; તેમણે મારા રસ્તાને વાંકાચૂંકા કર્યા છે.
10 He [was] to me [as] a bear lying in wait, [and as] a lion in secret places.
૧૦તેઓ રીંછની જેમ સંતાઈને મારી રાહ જુએ છે અને ગુપ્તમાં રહેનાર સિંહની જેમ મને પકડવા સંતાઈ રહે છે.
11 He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
૧૧તેમણે મારા માર્ગો મરડી નાખ્યા છે. તેમણે મને ફાડીને નિરાધાર કર્યો છે.
12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
૧૨તેમણે પોતાનું ધનુષ્ય ખેંચ્યું છે અને મને તીરના નિશાન તરીકે ઊભો રાખ્યો છે.
13 He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
૧૩તેમણે પોતાના ભાથાનાં બાણ મારા અંતઃકરણમાં માર્યા છે.
14 I was a derision to all my people; [and] their song all the day.
૧૪હું મારા લોકો સમક્ષ હાંસીપાત્ર થયો છું અને તેઓ આખો દિવસ મને ચીડવતાં ગીતો ગાય છે.
15 He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
૧૫તેમણે મને કડવી વેલથી ભરી દીધું છે અને મને કટુઝેરથી ભરી દીધો છે.
16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
૧૬વળી તેમણે મારા દાંત કાંકરાથી ભાંગી નાખ્યા છે; તેમણે મને રાખથી ઢાંકી દીધો છે.
17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
૧૭તમે મારો જીવ સુખશાંતિથી દૂર કર્યો છે; સમૃદ્ધિ શું છે તે હું ભૂલી ગયો છું.
18 And I said, My strength and my hope hath perished from the LORD:
૧૮તેથી મેં કહ્યું, “મારું બળ ખૂટી ગયું છે, એટલે યહોવાહ તરફથી મારી આશા નષ્ટ થઈ ગઈ છે!”
19 Remembering my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
૧૯મારું કષ્ટ તથા મારું દુઃખ, મારી કટુતા તથા કડવાશનું સ્મરણ કરો!
20 My soul hath [them] still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
૨૦મારો જીવ તેમનું સ્મરણ કરીને મારામાં દીન થઈ ગયો છે.
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
૨૧પણ હું તેનું મારા હૃદયમાં સ્મરણ કરું છું; મારે મને આશા છે.
22 [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
૨૨યહોવાહની કૃપાને લીધે આપણે નાશ પામ્યા નથી, કેમ કે તેમની દયાનો કદી અંત નથી!
23 [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.
૨૩દરરોજ સવારે તમારી કૃપા નવી થાય છે, તમારું વિશ્વાસુપણું મહાન છે!
24 The LORD [is] my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
૨૪મારો જીવ કહે છે, “યહોવાહ મારો હિસ્સો છે;” તેથી હું તેમનામાં મારી આશા મૂકું છું.
25 The LORD [is] good to them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him.
૨૫જેઓ તેમની રાહ જુએ છે અને જે માણસ તેમને શોધે છે તેઓ પ્રત્યે યહોવાહ ભલા છે.
26 [It is] good that [a man] should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
૨૬યહોવાહના ઉદ્ધારની આશા રાખવી અને શાંતિથી તેમના આવવાની રાહ જોવી તે સારું છે.
27 [It is] good for a man that he should bear the yoke in his youth.
૨૭જુવાનીમાં ઝૂંસરી ઉપાડવી એ માણસને માટે સારું છે.
28 He sitteth alone, and keepeth silence, because he hath borne [it] upon him.
૨૮યહોવાહે તેના પર ઝૂંસરી મૂકી છે, તેથી તે એકાંતમાં બેસીને શાંત રહે.
29 He putteth his mouth in the dust; if there may be hope.
૨૯તે પોતાનું મુખ ધૂળમાં નાખે, કદાચિત તેને આશા ઉત્પન્ન થાય.
30 He giveth [his] cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
૩૦જે તેને મારે છે તેના તરફ તે પોતાનો ગાલ ધરે. તે અપમાનથી ભરપૂર થાય.
31 For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
૩૧કેમ કે પ્રભુ આપણને કદી પણ નકારશે નહિ!
32 But though he causeth grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
૩૨કેમ કે જો કે તેઓ દુઃખ આપે, તોપણ પોતાની પુષ્કળ કૃપા પ્રમાણે તેઓ દયા કરશે.
33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
૩૩કેમ કે તેઓ રાજીખુશીથી કોઈને પણ દુ: ખ દેતા નથી અને માણસોને ખિન્ન કરતા નથી.
34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
૩૪પૃથ્વીના સર્વ કેદીઓને પગ નીચે કચડી નાખવા,
35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
૩૫પરાત્પરની સંમુખ કોઈનો હક પડાવી લેવો,
36 To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not.
૩૬કોઈનો દાવો બગાડવો, એ શું પ્રભુ જોતાં નથી?
37 Who [is] he [that] saith, and it cometh to pass, [when] the LORD commandeth [it] not?
૩૭પ્રભુની આજ્ઞા ન છતાં કોના કહ્યા પ્રમાણે થાય?
38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
૩૮પરાત્પર ઈશ્વરના મુખમાંથી દુઃખ તથા સુખ બન્ને નીકળે કે નહિ?
39 Why doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
૩૯જીવતો માણસ શા માટે ફરિયાદ કરે છે, પોતાના પાપની સજા થવાથી તે શા માટે કચકચ કરે?
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
૪૦આપણે આપણા માર્ગો ચકાસીને તેમની કસોટી કરીએ અને આપણે યહોવાહ તરફ પાછા ફરીએ.
41 Let us lift up our heart with [our] hands to God in the heavens.
૪૧આપણે આકાશમાંના ઈશ્વરની તરફ આપણા હાથ અને આપણું હૃદય ઊંચાં કરીને પ્રાર્થના કરીએ.
42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
૪૨“અમે અપરાધ તથા બંડ કર્યો છે અને તમે અમને માફ કર્યા નથી.
43 Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
૪૩તમે અમને કોપથી ઢાંકી દીધા તથા સતાવ્યા છે. તમે અમારી કતલ કરી અને દયા રાખી નથી.
44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that [our] prayer should not pass through.
૪૪અમારી પ્રાર્થના પેલે પાર જાય નહિ, માટે તમે વાદળથી પોતાને ઢાંકી દીધા.
45 Thou hast made us [as] the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
૪૫તમે અમને પ્રજાઓની વચમાં કચરા અને ઉકરડા જેવા બનાવી મૂક્યા છે.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
૪૬અમારી વિરુદ્ધ મુખ ઉઘાડીને અમારા સર્વ શત્રુઓએ અમારી હાંસી કરી છે.
47 Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
૪૭ભય તથા ખાડો, પાયમાલી તથા નાશ, અમારા પર આવી પડ્યાં છે.”
48 My eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
૪૮મારા લોકોની દીકરીના નાશને લીધે મારી આંખમાંથી આંસુની નદીઓ વહે છે.
49 My eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
૪૯મારી આંખોમાંથી આંસુ વહ્યા કરશે અને બંધ નહિ થાય, કેમ કે તેનો અંત નથી
50 Till the LORD shall look down, and behold from heaven.
૫૦જ્યાં સુધી યહોવાહ આકાશમાંથી દ્રષ્ટિ કરીને જુએ નહિ ત્યાં સુધી,
51 My eye affecteth my heart because of all the daughters of my city.
૫૧મારા નગરની સર્વ કુમારિકાઓની દશા જોઈને મારી આંખો સૂજી ગઈ છે.
52 My enemies chased me fiercely, like a bird without cause.
૫૨તેઓ કારણ વગર મારા શત્રુ થયા છે અને પક્ષીની જેમ મારો શિકાર કર્યો છે.
53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
૫૩તેઓએ મને જીવતો ખાડામાં નાખ્યો છે અને તેમણે મારા પર પથ્થરો ફેંક્યા છે.
54 Waters flowed over my head; [then] I said, I am cut off.
૫૪મારા માથા પર પાણી ફરી વળ્યાં; મેં કહ્યું, “હું મરી ગયો છું!”
55 I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
૫૫હે યહોવાહ, કારાગૃહના નીચલા ભોંયરામાંથી મેં તમારા નામનો પોકાર કર્યો.
56 Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thy ear at my breathing, at my cry.
૫૬જ્યારે મેં કહ્યું, ત્યારે તમે મારું સાંભળ્યું, “હું મદદ માટે હાંક મારું, ત્યારે તમે તમારા કાન બંધ ન કરશો.”
57 Thou drewest near in the day [that] I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
૫૭જે દિવસે મેં તમને હાંક મારી ત્યારે તમે મારી પાસે આવ્યા અને મને કહ્યું, “બીશ નહિ!”
58 O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
૫૮હે પ્રભુ, તમે મારો બચાવ કર્યો છે અને મારો ઉદ્ધાર કર્યો છે.
59 O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
૫૯હે યહોવાહ, તમે મને થયેલા અન્યાય જોયા છે. તમે મારો ન્યાય કરો.
60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance [and] all their imaginations against me.
૬૦મારા પ્રત્યેની તેમની વેરવૃત્તિ અને મારી વિરુદ્ધના સર્વ કાવતરાં તમે જોયા છે.
61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, [and] all their imaginations against me;
૬૧હે યહોવાહ, તેઓએ કરેલી મારી નિંદા તથા તેઓએ મારી વિરુદ્ધ કરેલા સર્વ કાવતરાં તમે સાંભળ્યાં છે.
62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
૬૨મારા વિરોધીઓ આખો દિવસ મારી વિરુદ્ધ બોલે છે. તમે તેમના ષડ્યંત્રો જાણો છો.
63 Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I [am] their music.
૬૩પછી ભલે તેઓ બેઠા હોય કે ઊભા હોય, તેઓ મારી મશ્કરી ઉડાવ્યે રાખે છે.
64 Render to them a recompense, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
૬૪હે યહોવાહ, તમે તેમના હાથની કરણી પ્રમાણે તેઓને બદલો આપજો.
65 Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse to them.
૬૫તમે તેઓની બુદ્ધિ જડ બનાવી દેજો અને તેઓના પર શાપ વરસાવજો.
66 Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
૬૬ક્રોધે ભરાઈને પીછો કરીને તમે તેઓનો નાશ કરજો અને હે યહોવાહ, તમે તેઓનો પૃથ્વી પરથી સંહાર કરજો!
