Judges 5
1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
সেদিন দবোরা এবং অবীনোয়মের ছেলে বারক এই গানটি গাইলেন:
2 Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
“ইস্রায়েলের নেতারা যখন নেতৃত্বভার হাতে নিলেন, প্রজারা যখন স্বেচ্ছায় নিজেদের উৎসর্গ করল— সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা করো!
3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, [even] I, will sing to the LORD; I will sing [praise] to the LORD God of Israel.
“হে রাজারা, একথা শোনো! হে শাসকেরা, কর্ণপাত করো! আমি, আমিই সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে গান গাইব; গানে গানে ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা করব।
4 LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
“হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি যখন সেয়ীর থেকে চলে গেলে, ইদোমের দেশ থেকে কুচকাওয়াজ করলে, পৃথিবী কম্পিত হল, আকাশমণ্ডলও বর্ষণ করল, মেঘমালা জলধারা ঢেলে দিল।
5 The mountains melted from before the LORD, [even] that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.
পর্বতগুলি সীনয়ের সেই সদাপ্রভুর সামনে কম্পিত হল, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সেই সদাপ্রভুর সামনেই হল।
6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travelers walked through by-ways.
“অনাতের পুত্র শম্গরের সময়ে, রাজপথগুলি যায়েলের সময়ে পরিত্যক্ত হল; ভ্রমণকারীরা ঘুরপথে যেত।
7 [The inhabitants of] the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.
ইস্রায়েলের গ্রামবাসীরা যুদ্ধ করতে চায়নি; তারা ক্ষান্ত ছিল, যতদিন না আমি, দবোরা উঠে দাঁড়ালাম, যতদিন না আমি, ইস্রায়েলের এক মাতৃস্থানীয়া উঠে দাঁড়ালাম।
8 They chose new gods; then [was] war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
ঈশ্বর নতুন নেতৃবৃন্দ মনোনীত করলেন যুদ্ধ যখন নগর-প্রবেশদ্বারে ঘনিয়ে এল, কিন্তু একটিও ঢাল অথবা বর্শা দেখা গেল না, ইস্রায়েলে হাজার চল্লিশ সেই সেনানীর হাতে।
9 My heart [is] towards the governors of Israel that offered themselves willingly among the people: Bless ye the LORD.
আমার হৃদয় ইস্রায়েলী নেতৃবৃন্দের প্রতি আসক্ত হল, জনতার মধ্যে ইচ্ছুক স্বেচ্ছাসেবকদের প্রতি। সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা করো!
10 Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.
“তোমরা যারা সাদা গাধার পিঠে চেপে যাও, জিন কম্বলের উপর বসে থাকো, আর তোমরা যারা পথযাত্রা করো, বিবেচনা করো
11 [They that are delivered] from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, [even] the righteous acts [towards the inhabitants] of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.
জলসেচনের স্থানে সেই গায়কদের রব। তারা সদাপ্রভুর বিজয় বর্ণনা করে, ইস্রায়েলের গ্রামবাসীদের বিজয়। “তখন সদাপ্রভুর প্রজাসকল নগরদ্বারে নেমে গেল।
12 Awake, awake, Deborah; awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.
‘জাগো, জাগো হে দবোরা! জাগো, জাগো, গানে মুখরিত হও! হে বারক, ওঠো! হে অবীনোয়মের পুত্র, বন্দি করো তোমার বন্দিদের।’
13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.
“পরিষদবর্গের অবশিষ্টাংশ নেমে এল; সদাপ্রভুর প্রজারা আমার কাছে বিক্রমীদের বিরুদ্ধাচারী হয়ে নেমে এল।
14 Out of Ephraim [was there] a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.
কেউ ইফ্রয়িম থেকে এল, যাদের মূল অমালেকেতে ছিল; বিন্যামীন তোমার অনুগামীদের সহবর্তী ছিল। অধিনায়কেরা মাখীর থেকে নেমে এলেন, সেই রণ-দণ্ডধারীরা সবূলূন থেকে এলেন।
15 And the princes of Issachar [were] with Deborah: even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben [there were] great thoughts of heart.
ইষাখরের নেতারা দবোরার সঙ্গী ছিলেন; হ্যাঁ, ইষাখর বারকেরও সঙ্গী ছিল, তাঁর আদেশে তাঁরা উপত্যকায় সবেগে ছুটে গেলেন। রূবেণের জেলাগুলিতে খুব অন্তর অনুসন্ধান হল।
16 Why abodest thou among the sheep-folds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben [there were] great searchings of heart.
কেন তোমরা মেষ-খোঁয়াড়ের মাঝে বসে রইলে শুধু মেষপালকদের বাঁশির সুর শুনবে বলে? রূবেণের জেলাগুলিতে খুব অন্তর অনুসন্ধান হল।
17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea-shore, and abode in his breaches.
গিলিয়দ জর্ডনের ওপারে থেকে গেল। আর দান, কেনই বা সে জাহাজের পাশে গড়িমসি করল? আশের সমুদ্র উপকূলে থেকে গেল আর তার সেই উপসাগরে বসবাস করল।
18 Zebulun and Naphtali [were] a people [that] jeoparded their lives to death in the high places of the field.
সবূলূন-প্রজারা নিজ জীবনের ঝুঁকি নিল; নপ্তালিও তাদের দেখাদেখি সোপানক্ষেত্রে তা করল।
19 The kings came [and] fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Tanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
“রাজারা এলেন, যুদ্ধ করলেন, কনানের রাজারা যুদ্ধ করলেন। তানকে, মগিদ্দোর নদীতীরে, তারা রুপোর কোনো লুন্ঠিত জিনিসপত্র নেয়নি।
20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
আকাশমণ্ডল থেকে নক্ষত্রেরা যুদ্ধ করল, তাদের কক্ষপথ থেকে সীষরার বিরুদ্ধে তারা যুদ্ধ করল।
21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.
কীশোন নদী তাদের ভাসিয়ে দিল, যুগবাহিত সেই নদী, সেই কীশোন নদী। হে আমার প্রাণ, এগিয়ে যাও; বলীয়ান হও!
22 Then were the horse's hoofs broken by the means of the prancings, the prancings of their mighty ones.
তখন অশ্ব-ক্ষুরের বজ্রনিনাদ হল— তাঁর সবল ঘোড়ার জোরে ছোটার শব্দ।
23 Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly its inhabitants; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.
সদাপ্রভুর দূত বললেন ‘মেরোসকে অভিশাপ দাও।’ ‘তার প্রজাদের দারুণ অভিশাপ দাও, কারণ তারা সদাপ্রভুকে সাহায্য করতে আসেনি, সদাপ্রভুকে বলশালীদের বিরুদ্ধে সাহায্য করতে।’
24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
“নারীকুলে যায়েল পরমধন্যা, কেনীয় হেবরের স্ত্রী, তাঁবু-নিবাসী নারীকুলে পরমধন্যা।
25 He asked water, [and] she gave [him] milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.
সীষরা জল চেয়েছিলেন, আর তিনি তাঁকে দুধ দিলেন; অভিজাতদের জন্য উপযুক্ত পাত্রে তিনি দধি এনে দিলেন।
26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and struck through his temples.
তিনি তাঁবু-খুটা হাতে তুলে নিলেন, ডান হাতে শ্রমিকদের হাতুড়ি নিলেন। তিনি সীষরাকে আঘাত করলেন, তাঁর মাথা চূর্ণ করলেন, তিনি তাঁর রগ চুরমার ও বিদ্ধ করলেন।
27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
তিনি যায়েলের পদাবনত হলেন, পতিত হলেন; যেখানে তিনি পদাবনত হলেন, সেখানেই মরে পতিত হয়ে রইলেন।
28 The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot [so] long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?
“খোলা জানালা দিয়ে সীষরার মা তাকিয়েছিলেন; জাফরির পিছন থেকে তিনি চিৎকার করেছিলেন, ‘তার রথ আসতে কেন এত দেরি হচ্ছে? কেন তার রথের ঘর্ঘর-ধ্বনি বিলম্বিত?’
29 Her wise ladies answered her, yes, she returned answer to herself.
তাঁর জ্ঞানবতী সহচরীরা তাঁকে উত্তর দিল; তিনি নিজেও আপনমনে কথা বললেন,
30 Have they not found; have they [not] divided the prey; to every man a damsel [or] two; to Sisera a prey of divers colors, a prey of divers colors of needle-work, of divers colors of needle-work on both sides, [meet] for the necks of [them that take] the spoil?
‘ওরা কি লুন্ঠিত জিনিসপত্র পায়নি? ভাগাভাগি কি করেনি? প্রত্যেক পুরুষের জন্য একটি বা দুটি করে রমণী, সীষরার জন্য লুন্ঠিত রঙিন পোশাক, দোরোখা রঙিন পোশাক, আমার গ্রীবার জন্য উচ্চমানের দোরোখা পোশাক— লুন্ঠিত জিনিসপত্ররূপে এসবই?’
31 So let all thy enemies perish, O LORD: but [let] them that love him [be] as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.
“হে সদাপ্রভু, তোমার সব শত্রু এভাবেই বিনষ্ট হোক! কিন্তু যারা তোমায় ভালোবাসে তারা সব সেই সূর্যের মতো হোক যখন তা সপ্রতাপে উদিত হয়।” পরে চল্লিশ বছর দেশে শান্তি বজায় ছিল।
