Judges 20
1 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, to the LORD in Mizpeh.
ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರು ಹೊರಟು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ದಾನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬದ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಂತೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದರು.
2 And the chief of all the people, [even] of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಬಿಚ್ಚು ಖಡ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಲಕ್ಷ ಕಾಲಾಳುಗಳು ದೇವರ ಸಮೂಹದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
3 (Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell [us], how was this wickedness?
ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು, “ನೀವು ಮಾತನಾಡಿರಿ; ಆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ಹೇಗೆ ಆಯಿತು?” ಎಂದರು.
4 And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that [belongeth] to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
ಹತಳಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಗಂಡನಾದ ಆ ಲೇವಿಯನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟು, “ನಾನು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ಊರಾದ ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದೆನು.
5 And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house upon me by night, [and] thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.
ಆದರೆ ಗಿಬೆಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು, ನಾನು ಇಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವಳು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದಳು.
6 And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.
ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಥ ದುಷ್ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಅತಿರೇಕದ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೀಮೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದೆನು. ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
7 Behold, ye [are] all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
8 And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any [of us] go to his tent, neither will we any [of us] turn into his house:
ಆಗ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು, “ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನೂ ತನ್ನ ಡೇರೆಗೆ ಹೋಗದಿರಲಿ. ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗದಿರಲಿ.
9 But now this [shall be] the thing which we will do to Gibeah: [we will go up] by lot against it;
ಈಗ ನಾವು ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಇದೇ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಚೀಟುಗಳು ಬಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಹೋಗೋಣ.
10 And we will take ten men of a hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch provisions for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.
ಆದರೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ಗೋತ್ರದವರಾದ ಗಿಬೆಯದವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಈ ಅತಿರೇಕದ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸಕಲ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೂರಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೆ ನೂರು, ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
11 So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.
ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೂಡಿದರು.
12 And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness [is] this that is done among you?
ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವೇನು?
13 Now therefore deliver [us] the men, the children of Belial, who [are] in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and banish evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren, the children of Israel:
ಗಿಬೆಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದುಷ್ಟ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕೊಂದು, ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಾದ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ,
14 But the children of Benjamin assembled out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಗಿಬೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಕೂಡಿದರು.
15 And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತಾರು ಸಾವಿರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇವರಲ್ಲದೆ ಗಿಬೆಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಏಳು ನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಯುದ್ಧವೀರರಿದ್ದರು.
16 Among all this people [there were] seven hundred chosen men left-handed; every one could sling stones to a hair -[breadth], and not miss.
ಈ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಿಸಿದ ಏಳು ನೂರು ಜನರು ಬಲಗೈ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸವಿಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದು ಕೂದಲೆಳೆ ತಪ್ಪದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕವಣೆಯಿಂದ ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆಯುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
17 And the men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these [were] men of war.
ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನವರ ಹೊರತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಲಕ್ಷ ಯೋಧರಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯುದ್ಧವೀರರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
18 And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah [shall go up] first.
ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದವರು ಯಾರೆಂದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು, “ಯೆಹೂದ ಗೋತ್ರದವರು ಮೊದಲು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದರು.
19 And the children of Israel rose in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.
ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
20 And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಗಿಬೆಯದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ವ್ಯೂಹ ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು.
21 And the children of Benjamin came forth from Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
ಆಗ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು ಗಿಬೆಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದರು.
22 And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಾದ ಜನರು ಬಲಗೊಂಡು, ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿವಸ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯೂಹ ಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ವ್ಯೂಹ ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು.
23 (And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until evening, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಂಜೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಅತ್ತು, “ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಾದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೋ?” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು, “ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ,” ಎಂದರು. ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
24 And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
ಆಗ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನವರು ಆ ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಿಬೆಯದಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟುಬಂದು,
25 And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗಿಬೆಯಾದಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಖಡ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಉರುಳಿಸಿದರು.
26 Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until evening, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before the LORD.
ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇನೆಯೂ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು, ಆ ಸಂಜೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
27 And the children of Israel inquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God [was] there in those days,
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದದರಿಂದಲೂ,
28 And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days, ) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to-morrow I will deliver them into thy hand.
ಆರೋನನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಫೀನೆಹಾಸನು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದದರಿಂದಲೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು, “ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಾದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೋ ಬೇಡವೋ?” ಎಂದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು, “ಹೋಗಿರಿ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾಳೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವೆನು,” ಎಂದರು.
29 And Israel set liers in wait around Gibeah.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಗಿಬೆಯದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಹೊಂಚಿ ನೋಡುವವರನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟರು.
30 And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಮೊದಲು ಎರಡು ಸಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, ಗಿಬೆಯದ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯೂಹವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು.
31 And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, [and] were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, [and] kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
ಆಗ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಬಂದು, ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಾದ ಬೇತೇಲಿಗೂ ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೂ ಹೋಗುವ ಎರಡು ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರೊಳಗೆ ಮೊದಲಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ,
32 And the children of Benjamin said, They [are] smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them from the city to the highways.
ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು, “ಅವರು ಮೊದಲಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೋತುಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು, “ಅವರನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗೋಣ,” ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
33 And all the men of Israel rose out of their place, and put themselves in array at Baal-tamar: and the liers in wait of Israel came forth out of their places, [even] out of the meadows of Gibeah.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು, ಬಾಳ್ ತಾಮಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯೂಹವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆಗ ಗಿಬೆಯದ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂಚಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದರು.
34 And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was severe: but they knew not that evil [was] near them.
ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಿಸಿದ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದರು. ಯುದ್ಧವು ಘೋರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು, ಕೇಡು ತಮಗೆ ಸಮೀಪವಾಗಿತ್ತೆಂದು ಅರಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದರು.
35 And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjaminites that day twenty and five thousand and a hundred men: all these drew the sword.
ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದರು. ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಖಡ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿಯುವವರಾದ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ಸಾವಿರದ ನೂರು ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದರು.
36 So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men of Israel gave place to the Benjaminites, because they trusted to the liers in wait which they had set beside Gibeah.
ತಾವು ಸೋತುಹೋದೆವೆಂಬುದು ಹೀಗೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಆಗ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಗಿಬೆಯದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ಜನರನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ್ದರು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.
37 And the liers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers in wait drew [themselves] along, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.
ಆಗ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವರು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಲಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು, ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದರು.
38 Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke to rise from the city.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವರ ಸಂಗಡ ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಗುರುತೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮಹಾ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೊಗೆಯನ್ನು ಏಳ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ.
39 And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite [and] kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as [in] the first battle.
ತದನಂತರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಪ್ರತಿದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಾಗ, “ಮೊದಲು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೋತುಹೋದರು,” ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
40 But when the flame began to rise from the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjaminites looked behind them, and behold, the flame of the city ascended to heaven.
ಆದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊಗೆಯ ಸ್ತಂಭ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿತು. ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿತು.
41 And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil had come upon them.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಾಗ, ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನ ಜನರು ತಲ್ಲಣಗೊಂಡರು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಕೇಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಕಂಡರು.
42 Therefore they turned [their backs] before the men of Israel to the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them who [came] out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಆದರೆ ಸೈನಿಕರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬರುವ ಜನರನ್ನು ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು.
43 [Thus] they inclosed the Benjaminites on all sides, [and] chased them, [and] trod them down with ease over against Gibeah towards the sun-rising.
ಹೀಗೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಮುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ, ಗಿಬೆಯ ಊರಿನ ಪೂರ್ವದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಕಾಶವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತುಳಿದು ಹಾಕಿದರು.
44 And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these [were] men of valor.
ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರು ಸತ್ತರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
45 And they turned and fled towards the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them to Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
ಆದರೆ ಕೆಲವರು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಿಮ್ಮೋನ್ ಬಂಡೆಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಕ್ಕಲಾರಿಸಿ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು. ಉಳಿದವರನ್ನು ಗಿದೋಮಿನವರೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ವಧಿಸಿದರು.
46 So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these [were] men of valor.
ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರೊಳಗೆ ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಖಡ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
47 But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness to the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.
ಆದರೆ ಆರುನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಿಮ್ಮೋನ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ, ರಿಮ್ಮೋನ್ ಗುಡ್ಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳು ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
48 And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of [every] city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರನ್ನೂ, ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ, ತಾವು ಹೋದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
