< Judges 17 >
1 And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name [was] Micah.
Na rĩrĩ, mũndũ wetagwo Mika wa kuuma bũrũri ũrĩa ũrĩ irĩma wa Efiraimu
2 And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred [shekels] of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou didst curse, and speak of also in my ears, behold, the silver [is] with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed [be thou] of the LORD, my son.
akĩĩra nyina atĩrĩ, “Cekeri ngiri ĩmwe na igana rĩmwe cia betha iria cioirwo kuuma kũrĩ we, na iria ndaiguire ũkĩrumanĩra kĩrumi-rĩ, nĩ niĩ ndĩ nacio; nĩ niĩ ndacioire.” Nake nyina akiuga atĩrĩ, “Mũrũ wakwa, Jehova arokũrathima.”
3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred [shekels] of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver to the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it to thee.
Rĩrĩa aacookirie cekeri icio ngiri ĩmwe na igana rĩmwe cia betha kũrĩ nyina-rĩ, nyina akiuga atĩrĩ, “Niĩ nĩndamũrĩra Jehova betha yakwa kũna nĩgeetha mũrũ wakwa athondeke mũhianano mũicũhie na mũhianano wa gũtwekio. Nĩngũgũcookeria.”
4 Yet he restored the money to his mother; and his mother took two hundred [shekels] of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made of it a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio agĩcookia betha ĩyo kũrĩ nyina, nake nyina akĩoya cekeri magana meerĩ cia betha na agĩcineana kũrĩ mũturi wa betha, ũrĩa wacithondekire mũhianano wa gwacũhio na mũhianano wa gũtwekio. Nayo ikĩigwo thĩinĩ wa nyũmba ya Mika.
5 And the man Micah had a house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
Na rĩrĩ, mũndũ ũcio wetagwo Mika nĩ aarĩ na ihooero, nake agĩthondeka ebodi, na mĩhianano ĩmwe ya gũtwekio na agĩtua mũriũ ũmwe wake mũthĩnjĩri-ngai wake.
6 In those days [there was] no king in Israel, [but] every man did [that which was] right in his own eyes.
Matukũ-inĩ macio Isiraeli gũtiarĩ mũthamaki; o mũndũ ekaga ũrĩa oonaga kwagĩrĩire.
7 And there was a young man out of Beth-lehem-judah of the family of Judah, who [was] a Levite, and he sojourned there.
Mũlawii ũmwe mwanake kuuma itũũra rĩa Bethilehemu ya Juda, watũũraga thĩinĩ wa mũhĩrĩga wa Juda,
8 And the man departed out of the city from Beth-lehem-judah, to sojourn where he could find [a place]: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.
akiuma itũũra-inĩ rĩu agĩthiĩ gwetha kũndũ kũngĩ gwa gũtũũra. Arĩ njĩra-inĩ agĩkora nyũmba ya Mika ĩrĩa yarĩ bũrũri-inĩ ũrĩa wa irĩma wa Efiraimu.
9 And Micah said to him, Whence comest thou? And he said to him, I [am] a Levite of Beth-lehem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find [a place].
Mika akĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Wee uumĩte kũ?” Nake akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndĩ Mũlawii kuuma Bethilehemu ya Juda, na ndĩreetha kũndũ gwa gũtũũra.”
10 And Micah said to him, Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten [shekels] of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.
Nake Mika akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Tũũrania na niĩ ũtuĩke baba na mũthĩnjĩri-ngai wakwa, na nĩndĩrĩkũheaga cekeri ikũmi cia betha o mwaka, na nguo ciaku cia kwĩhumba na irio cia kũrĩa.”
11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Mũlawii ũcio agĩĩtĩkĩra gũtũũrania hamwe nake, na mwanake ũcio agĩtuĩka ta ũmwe wa ariũ ake.
12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
Ningĩ Mika akĩamũra Mũlawii ũcio, nake mwanake ũcio agĩtuĩka mũthĩnjĩri-ngai wake na agĩtũũra gwake mũciĩ.
13 Then said Micah, Now I know that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite for [my] priest.
Nake Mika akiuga atĩrĩ, “Rĩu nĩndamenya atĩ Jehova nĩekũnjĩka wega, nĩgũkorwo Mũlawii ũyũ nĩatuĩkĩte mũthĩnjĩri-ngai wakwa.”
