Joshua 16

1 And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, to the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Beth-el,

और बनी यूसुफ़ का हिस्सा पर्ची डालकर यरीहू के पास के यरदन से शुरू' हुआ, या'नी पूरब की तरफ़ यरीहू के चश्में बल्कि वीराना पड़ा। फिर उसकी हद यरीहू से पहाड़ी मुल्क होती हुई बैत — एल को गयी।

2 And goeth out from Beth-el to Luz, and passeth along to the borders of Archi to Ataroth,

फिर बैत — एल से निकल कर लूज़ को गई और अर्कियों की सरहद के पास से गुज़रती हुई 'अतारात पहुँची;

3 And goeth down westward to the border of Japhleti, to the border of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gezer: and the limits of it are at the sea.

और वहाँ से पश्चिम की तरफ़ यफ़लीतियों की सरहद से होती हुई नीचे के बैत हौरून बल्कि जज़र को निकल गयी, और उसका ख़ातिमा समन्दर पर हुआ।

4 So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.

तब बनी यूसुफ़ या'नी मनस्सी और इफ़्राईम ने अपनी अपनी मीरास पर क़ब्ज़ा किया।

5 And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was [thus]: even the border of their inheritance on the east side was Ataroth-adar, to Beth-horon the upper:

और बनी इफ़्राईम की सरहद उनके घरानों के मुताबिक़ यह थी: पूरब की तरफ़ ऊपर के बैत हौरून तक 'अतारात अदार उनकी हद ठहरी;

6 And the border went out towards the sea to Michmethah on the north side; and the border went about eastward to Taanath-shiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah;

मैं उत्तर की तरफ़ वह हद पश्चिम के मिकमता होती हुई पूरब की तरफ़ तानत सैला को मुड़ी, और वहाँ से यनूहाह के पूरब को गयी;

7 And it went down from Janohah to Ataroth, and to Naarath, and came to Jericho, and terminated at Jordan.

और यनूहाह से 'अतारात और ना'राता होती हुई यरीहू पहुँची, और फिर यरदन को जा निकली;

8 The border went out from Tappuah westward to the river Kanah; and the limits of it were at the sea. This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.

और वह हद तफ़ूह से निकल कर पश्चिम की तरफ़ क़ानाह के नाले को गई और उसका ख़ातिमा समन्दर पर हुआ। बनी इफ़्राईम के क़बीला की मीरास उनके घरानों के मुताबिक़ यही है।

9 And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim [were] among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

और इसके साथ बनी इफ़्राईम के लिए बनी मनस्सी की मीरास में भी शहर अलग किए गये और उन सब शहरों के साथ उनके गाँव भी थे।

10 And they did not expel the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, and serve under tribute.

और उन्होंने कना'नियों को जो जज़र में रहते थे न निकाला, बल्कि वह कना'नी आज के दिन तक इफ़्राईमियों में बसे हुए हैं, और ख़ादिम बनकर बेगार का काम करते हैं।
