John 8
1 Jesus went to the mount of Olives:
௧இயேசு ஒலிவமலைக்குப் போனார்.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him; and he sat down and taught them.
௨மறுநாள் காலையில் அவர் திரும்பி தேவாலயத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, மக்கள் எல்லோரும் அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள். அவர் உட்கார்ந்து அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம் செய்தார்.
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought to him a woman taken in adultery: and when they had set her in the midst,
௩அப்பொழுது விபசாரத்திலே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு பெண்ணை வேதபண்டிதர்களும், பரிசேயர்களும் அவரிடத்தில் அழைத்துவந்து, அவளை நடுவே நிறுத்தி:
4 They say to him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
௪போதகரே, இந்த பெண் விபசாரத்தில் கையும் மெய்யுமாகப் பிடிக்கப்பட்டாள்.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned; but what sayest thou?
௫இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களைக் கல்லெறிந்து கொல்லவேண்டும் என்று மோசே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தில் நமக்குக் கட்டளைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறாரே, நீர் என்ன சொல்லுகிறீர் என்றார்கள்.
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground, [as though he heard them not].
௬அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவதற்கான காரணம் உண்டாக்குவதற்கு, அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி இப்படிச் சொன்னார்கள் இயேசுவோ குனிந்து, விரலினால் தரையிலே எழுதினார்.
7 So when they continued asking him, he raised himself, and said to them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
௭அவர்கள் தொடர்ந்து அவரைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, அவர் நிமிர்ந்துபார்த்து: உங்களில் பாவமில்லாதவன் இவள்மீது முதலாவது கல்லெறியட்டும் என்று சொல்லி,
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
௮அவர் மறுபடியும் குனிந்து, தரையிலே எழுதினார்.
9 And they who heard [it], being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, [even] to the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
௯அவர்கள் அதைக்கேட்டு, தங்களுடைய மனச்சாட்சியில் உணர்த்தப்பட்டு, பெரியோர் முதல் சிறியோர் வரைக்கும் ஒவ்வொருவராக போய்விட்டார்கள். இயேசு தனித்திருந்தார், அந்த பெண் நடுவே நின்றாள்.
10 When Jesus had raised himself, and saw none but the woman, he said to her, Woman, where are those thy accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
௧0இயேசு நிமிர்ந்து அந்த பெண்ணைத்தவிர வேறொருவரையும் காணாமல்: பெண்ணே, உன்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்தினவர்கள் எங்கே? ஒருவன்கூட உன்னைத் தண்டனைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்க்கவில்லையா என்றார்.
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
௧௧அதற்கு அவள்: இல்லை, ஆண்டவரே, என்றாள். இயேசு அவளைப் பார்த்து: நானும் உன்னைத் தண்டனைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்க்கிறதில்லை; நீ போ, இனிப் பாவம் செய்யாதே என்றார்.
12 Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
௧௨மறுபடியும் இயேசு மக்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் உலகத்திற்கு ஒளியாக இருக்கிறேன், என்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவன் இருளிலே நடக்காமல் ஜீவ ஒளியை அடைந்திருப்பான் என்றார்.
13 The Pharisees therefore said to him, Thou testifiest concerning thyself; thy testimony is not true.
௧௩அப்பொழுது பரிசேயர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: உன்னைக்குறித்து நீயே சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறாய்; உன்னுடைய சாட்சி உண்மையானதல்ல என்றார்கள்.
14 Jesus answered and said to them, Though I testify concerning myself, [yet] my testimony is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
௧௪இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: என்னைக்குறித்து நானே சாட்சி கொடுத்தாலும், என் சாட்சி உண்மையாக இருக்கிறது; ஏனென்றால், நான் எங்கே இருந்து வந்தேன் என்றும், எங்கே போகிறேன் என்றும் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; நீங்களோ நான் எங்கே இருந்து வருகிறேன் என்றும், எங்கே போகிறேன் என்றும் உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது.
15 Ye judge after the flesh, I judge no man.
௧௫நீங்கள் மனித வழக்கத்திற்கு ஏற்றபடி நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறீர்கள், நான் ஒருவனையும் நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறதில்லை;
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
௧௬நான் நியாயந்தீர்த்தால், என் தீர்ப்பு சத்தியத்தின்படி இருக்கும்; ஏனென்றால், நான் தனித்திருக்கவில்லை, நானும் என்னை அனுப்பின பிதாவுமாக இருக்கிறோம்.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
௧௭இரண்டு பேருடைய சாட்சி உண்மை என்று உங்களுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலும் எழுதி இருக்கிறதே.
18 I am one that testifieth concerning myself; and the Father that sent me, testifieth concerning me.
௧௮நான் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறவனாக இருக்கிறேன், என்னை அனுப்பின பிதாவும் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சிக் கொடுக்கிறார் என்றார்.
19 Then said they to him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also.
௧௯அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: உம்முடைய பிதா எங்கே என்றார்கள். இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: என்னையும் அறியீர்கள். என் பிதாவையும் அறியீர்கள்; நீங்கள் என்னை அறிந்தீர்களானால் என் பிதாவையும் அறிவீர்கள் என்றார்.
20 These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him, for his hour was not yet come.
௨0தேவாலயத்திலே இயேசு உபதேசம் செய்கிறபோது, காணிக்கைப்பெட்டி இருக்கும் இடத்தில் இந்த வசனங்களைச் சொன்னார். அவருடைய வேளை இன்னும் வராதபடியினால் ஒருவனும் அவரைப் பிடிக்கவில்லை.
21 Then said Jesus again to them, I am going away, and ye will seek me, and will die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
௨௧இயேசு மறுபடியும் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் போகிறேன், நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேடி உங்களுடைய பாவங்களிலே மரித்துப்போவீர்கள்; நான் போகிற இடத்திற்கு உங்களால் வர முடியாது என்றார்.
22 Then said the Jews, will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
௨௨அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள்: நான் போகிற இடத்திற்கு உங்களால் வர முடியாது என்கிறானே, தன்னைத்தானே கொலைசெய்து கொள்ளுவானோ என்று பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
23 And he said to them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
௨௩அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் கீழேயிருந்து உண்டானவர்கள், நான் மேலேயிருந்து உண்டானவன்; நீங்கள் இந்த உலகத்திலிருந்து உண்டானவர்கள், நான் இந்த உலகத்திலிருந்து உண்டானவன் இல்லை.
24 I said therefore to you, that ye will die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye will die in your sins.
௨௪ஆகவே, நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய பாவங்களில் மரித்துப்போவீர்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்; நானே அவர் என்று நீங்கள் விசுவாசிக்காவிட்டால் உங்களுடைய பாவங்களிலே மரித்துப்போவீர்கள் என்றார்.
25 Then said they to him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith to them, Even [the same] that I said to you from the beginning.
௨௫அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீர் யார் என்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் ஆரம்ப முதலாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறவர் தான்.
26 I have many things to say, and to judge of you: but he that sent me, is true: and I speak to the world those things which I have heard from him.
௨௬உங்களைக்குறித்துப் பேசவும் நியாயந்தீர்க்கவும் எனக்கு அநேக காரியங்கள் இருக்கிறது; என்னை அனுப்பினவர் சத்தியமானவர்; நான் அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டவைகளை உலகத்திற்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
27 They understood not that he spoke to them concerning the Father.
௨௭பிதாவைக்குறித்துப் பேசினார் என்று அவர்கள் அறியாதிருந்தார்கள்.
28 Then said Jesus to them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
௨௮ஆதலால் இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் மனிதகுமாரனை உயர்த்தினபின்பு, நானே அவர் என்றும், நான் என் சொந்தமாக ஒன்றும் செய்யாமல், என் பிதா எனக்குப் போதித்தபடியே இவைகளைச் சொன்னேன் என்றும் அறிவீர்கள்.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
௨௯என்னை அனுப்பினவர் என்னுடனே இருக்கிறார், பிதாவிற்குப் பிரியமானவைகளை நான் எப்பொழுதும் செய்கிறதினால் அவர் என்னைத் தனியே இருக்கவிடவில்லை என்றார்.
30 As he spoke these words, many believed on him.
௩0இவைகளை அவர் சொன்னபோது, அநேகர் அவரிடத்தில் விசுவாசம் வைத்தார்கள்.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed;
௩௧இயேசு தம்மை விசுவாசித்த யூதர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் என் உபதேசத்தில் நிலைத்திருந்தால் உண்மையாகவே என் சீடராக இருப்பீர்கள்;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
௩௨சத்தியத்தையும் அறிவீர்கள், சத்தியம் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கும் என்றார்.
33 They answered him, We are Abraham's offspring, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
௩௩அவர்கள் அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நாங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியாக இருக்கிறோம், நாங்கள் ஒருபோதும் ஒருவனுக்கும் அடிமைகளாக இருக்கவில்லை; விடுதலையாவீர்கள் என்று நீர் எப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறீர் என்றார்கள்.
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Whoever committeth sin, is the servant of sin.
௩௪இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: பாவம் செய்கிறவன் எவனும் பாவத்திற்கு அடிமையாக இருக்கிறான் என்று உண்மையாகவே உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
௩௫அடிமையானவன் என்றைக்கும் வீட்டிலே நிலைத்திரான்; குமாரன் என்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருக்கிறார். (aiōn g165)
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
௩௬ஆகவே, குமாரன் உங்களை விடுதலை ஆக்கினால் உண்மையாகவே விடுதலை ஆவீர்கள்.
37 I know that ye are Abraham's offspring; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
௩௭நீங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியார் என்று அறிவேன்; ஆனாலும் உங்களுக்குள்ளே என் உபதேசம் இடம் பெறாததினால், என்னைக் கொலைசெய்யத் தேடுகிறீர்கள்.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
௩௮நான் என் பிதாவினிடத்தில் பார்த்ததைச் சொல்லுகிறேன், நீங்களும் உங்களுடைய பிதாவினிடத்தில் பார்த்ததைச் செய்கிறீர்கள் என்றார்.
39 They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith to them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
௩௯அதற்கு அவர்கள்: ஆபிரகாமே எங்களுடைய பிதா என்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் பிள்ளைகளாக இருந்தால் ஆபிரகாமின் செயல்களைச் செய்வீர்களே.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard from God: this did not Abraham.
௪0தேவனிடத்தில் கேட்டிருக்கிற சத்தியத்தை உங்களுக்குச் சொன்ன மனிதனாகிய என்னைக் கொல்லத் தேடுகிறீர்கள், ஆபிரகாம் இப்படிச் செய்யவில்லையே.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, [even] God.
௪௧நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய பிதாவின் செயல்களைச் செய்கிறீர்கள் என்றார். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நாங்கள் வேசித்தனத்தினால் பிறந்தவர்கள் இல்லை; ஒரே பிதா எங்களுக்கு இருக்கிறார், அவர் தேவன் என்றார்கள்.
42 Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
௪௨இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: தேவன் உங்களுடைய பிதாவாக இருந்தால் என்னிடத்தில் அன்பாக இருப்பீர்கள். ஏனென்றால், நான் தேவனிடத்தில் இருந்து வந்திருக்கிறேன்; நான் நானாக வரவில்லை, அவரே என்னை அனுப்பினார்.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word.
௪௩என் வசனத்தை நீங்கள் ஏன் அறியாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்? என் உபதேசத்தைக் கேட்க மனதில்லாமல் இருக்கிறதினால் அல்லவா?
44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do: he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
௪௪நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய தகப்பனாகிய பிசாசானவனால் உண்டானவர்கள்; உங்களுடைய தகப்பனின் ஆசைகளின்படி செய்ய விருப்பமாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்; அவன் ஆரம்ப முதற்கொண்டு மனித கொலைபாதகனாக இருக்கிறான்; சத்தியம் அவனிடத்தில் இல்லாததினால் அவன் சத்தியத்திலே நிலை நிற்கவில்லை; அவன் பொய்யனும் பொய்க்குப் தகப்பனுமாக இருக்கிறதினால் அவன் பொய் பேசும்போது தன்னுடைய சுபாவத்தின்படி அப்படிப் பேசுகிறான்.
45 And because I tell [you] the truth, ye believe me not.
௪௫நான் உங்களுக்குச் சத்தியத்தைச் சொல்லுகிறதினால் நீங்கள் என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறதில்லை.
46 Which of you convicteth me of sin? And if I speak the truth, why do ye not believe me?
௪௬என்னிடத்தில் பாவம் உண்டென்று உங்களில் யார் என்னைக் குற்றப்படுத்தமுடியும்? நான் சத்தியத்தைச் சொல்லியிருந்தும், நீங்கள் ஏன் என்னை விசுவாசிக்கவில்லை.
47 He that is of God, heareth God's words: ye therefore hear [them] not, because ye are not of God.
௪௭தேவனால் உண்டானவன் தேவனுடைய வசனங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறான்; நீங்கள் தேவனால் உண்டாகாததினால் செவிகொடுக்காமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்றார்.
48 Then answered the Jews, and said to him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?
௪௮அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக: உன்னைச் சமாரியன் என்றும், பிசாசு பிடித்தவன் என்றும் நாங்கள் சொல்லுகிறது சரிதானே என்றார்கள்.
49 Jesus answered, I have not a demon; but I honor my Father, and ye dishonor me.
௪௯அதற்கு இயேசு: நான் பிசாசு பிடித்தவன் இல்லை, நான் என் பிதாவை மதிக்கிறேன், நீங்கள் என்னை மதிக்காமலிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
50 And I seek not my own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
௫0நான் எனக்கு மகிமையைத் தேடுகிறதில்லை; அதைத் தேடி, நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவர் ஒருவர் இருக்கிறார்.
51 Verily, verily, I say to you, If a man shall keep my saying, he shall never see death. (aiōn g165)
௫௧ஒருவன் என் வார்த்தையைக் கடைபிடித்தால், அவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் மரணத்தைப் பார்ப்பதில்லை என்று உண்மையாகவே உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார். (aiōn g165)
52 Then said the Jews to him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man shall keep my saying, he shall never taste death. (aiōn g165)
௫௨அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: நீ பிசாசு பிடித்தவன் என்று இப்பொழுது அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்; ஆபிரகாமும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் மரித்தார்கள். நீயோ: ஒருவன், என் வார்த்தையைக் கடைபிடித்தால் என்றென்றைக்கும் மரணத்தை ருசிபார்ப்பதில்லை என்கிறாய். (aiōn g165)
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
௫௩எங்களுடைய பிதாவாகிய ஆபிரகாமிலும் நீ பெரியவனோ? அவர் மரித்தார், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் மரித்தார்கள்; உன்னை நீ யார் என்று நினைக்கிறாய் என்றார்கள்.
54 Jesus answered, If I honor myself, my honor is nothing: it is my Father that honoreth me, of whom ye say, that he is your God:
௫௪இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: என்னை நானே மகிமைப்படுத்தினால் அந்த மகிமை வீணாயிருக்கும், என் பிதா என்னை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறவர், அவரை உங்களுடைய தேவன் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்.
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I should be a liar like you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
௫௫ஆனாலும் நீங்கள் அவரை அறியவில்லை, நான் அவரை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; அவரை அறியேன் என்று சொன்னால் உங்களைப்போல நானும் பொய்யனாக இருப்பேன்; அவரை நான் அறிந்து, அவருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கடைபிடிக்கிறேன்.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad.
௫௬உங்களுடைய தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாம் என்னுடைய நாளைக் காண ஆசையாக இருந்தான்; பார்த்து மகிழ்ந்தான் என்றார்.
57 Then said the Jews to him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
௫௭அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: உனக்கு இன்னும் ஐம்பது வயதாகவில்லையே, நீ ஆபிரகாமைப் பார்த்தாயோ என்றார்கள்.
58 Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am.
௫௮அதற்கு இயேசு: ஆபிரகாம் உண்டாவதற்கு முன்னமே நான் இருக்கிறேன் என்று உண்மையாகவே உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
59 Then they took up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
௫௯அப்பொழுது அவர்மேல் எறியும்படி கற்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள். இயேசு மறைந்து, அவர்கள் நடுவே கடந்து, தேவாலயத்தைவிட்டுப்போனார்.
