John 15
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
अहं सत्यद्राक्षालतास्वरूपो मम पिता तूद्यानपरिचारकस्वरूपञ्च।
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh away; and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he cleaneth it, that it my bring forth more fruit.
मम यासु शाखासु फलानि न भवन्ति ताः स छिनत्ति तथा फलवत्यः शाखा यथाधिकफलानि फलन्ति तदर्थं ताः परिष्करोति।
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken to you.
इदानीं मयोक्तोपदेशेन यूयं परिष्कृताः।
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine: no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
अतः कारणात् मयि तिष्ठत तेनाहमपि युष्मासु तिष्ठामि, यतो हेतो र्द्राक्षालतायाम् असंलग्ना शाखा यथा फलवती भवितुं न शक्नोति तथा यूयमपि मय्यतिष्ठन्तः फलवन्तो भवितुं न शक्नुथ।
5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
अहं द्राक्षालतास्वरूपो यूयञ्च शाखास्वरूपोः; यो जनो मयि तिष्ठति यत्र चाहं तिष्ठामि, स प्रचूरफलैः फलवान् भवति, किन्तु मां विना यूयं किमपि कर्त्तुं न शक्नुथ।
6 If a man abideth not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered: and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned.
यः कश्चिन् मयि न तिष्ठति स शुष्कशाखेव बहि र्निक्षिप्यते लोकाश्च ता आहृत्य वह्नौ निक्षिप्य दाहयन्ति।
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye may ask what ye will, and it shall be done to you.
यदि यूयं मयि तिष्ठथ मम कथा च युष्मासु तिष्ठति तर्हि यद् वाञ्छित्वा याचिष्यध्वे युष्माकं तदेव सफलं भविष्यति।
8 In this is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
यदि यूयं प्रचूरफलवन्तो भवथ तर्हि तद्वारा मम पितु र्महिमा प्रकाशिष्यते तथा यूयं मम शिष्या इति परिक्षायिष्यध्वे।
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
पिता यथा मयि प्रीतवान् अहमपि युष्मासु तथा प्रीतवान् अतो हेतो र्यूयं निरन्तरं मम प्रेमपात्राणि भूत्वा तिष्ठत।
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
अहं यथा पितुराज्ञा गृहीत्वा तस्य प्रेमभाजनं तिष्ठामि तथैव यूयमपि यदि ममाज्ञा गुह्लीथ तर्हि मम प्रेमभाजनानि स्थास्यथ।
11 These things have I spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and [that] your joy may be full.
युष्मन्निमित्तं मम य आह्लादः स यथा चिरं तिष्ठति युष्माकम् आनन्दश्च यथा पूर्य्यते तदर्थं युष्मभ्यम् एताः कथा अत्रकथम्।
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
अहं युष्मासु यथा प्रीये यूयमपि परस्परं तथा प्रीयध्वम् एषा ममाज्ञा।
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
मित्राणां कारणात् स्वप्राणदानपर्य्यन्तं यत् प्रेम तस्मान् महाप्रेम कस्यापि नास्ति।
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatever I command you.
अहं यद्यद् आदिशामि तत्तदेव यदि यूयम् आचरत तर्हि यूयमेव मम मित्राणि।
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.
अद्यारभ्य युष्मान् दासान् न वदिष्यामि यत् प्रभु र्यत् करोति दासस्तद् न जानाति; किन्तु पितुः समीपे यद्यद् अशृणवं तत् सर्व्वं यूष्मान् अज्ञापयम् तत्कारणाद् युष्मान् मित्राणि प्रोक्तवान्।
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
यूयं मां रोचितवन्त इति न, किन्त्वहमेव युष्मान् रोचितवान् यूयं गत्वा यथा फलान्युत्पादयथ तानि फलानि चाक्षयाणि भवन्ति, तदर्थं युष्मान् न्यजुनजं तस्मान् मम नाम प्रोच्य पितरं यत् किञ्चिद् याचिष्यध्वे तदेव स युष्मभ्यं दास्यति।
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
यूयं परस्परं प्रीयध्वम् अहम् इत्याज्ञापयामि।
18 If the world hateth you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you.
जगतो लोकै र्युष्मासु ऋतीयितेषु ते पूर्व्वं मामेवार्त्तीयन्त इति यूयं जानीथ।
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
यदि यूयं जगतो लोका अभविष्यत तर्हि जगतो लोका युष्मान् आत्मीयान् बुद्ध्वाप्रेष्यन्त; किन्तु यूयं जगतो लोका न भवथ, अहं युष्मान् अस्माज्जगतोऽरोचयम् एतस्मात् कारणाज्जगतो लोका युष्मान् ऋतीयन्ते।
20 Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
दासः प्रभो र्महान् न भवति ममैतत् पूर्व्वीयं वाक्यं स्मरत; ते यदि मामेवाताडयन् तर्हि युष्मानपि ताडयिष्यन्ति, यदि मम वाक्यं गृह्लन्ति तर्हि युष्माकमपि वाक्यं ग्रहीष्यन्ति।
21 But all these things will they do to you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
किन्तु ते मम नामकारणाद् युष्मान् प्रति तादृशं व्यवहरिष्यन्ति यतो यो मां प्रेरितवान् तं ते न जानन्ति।
22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
तेषां सन्निधिम् आगत्य यद्यहं नाकथयिष्यं तर्हि तेषां पापं नाभविष्यत् किन्त्वधुना तेषां पापमाच्छादयितुम् उपायो नास्ति।
23 He that hateth me, hateth my Father also.
यो जनो माम् ऋतीयते स मम पितरमपि ऋतीयते।
24 If I had not done among them the works which no other man hath done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen, and hated both me and my Father.
यादृशानि कर्म्माणि केनापि कदापि नाक्रियन्त तादृशानि कर्म्माणि यदि तेषां साक्षाद् अहं नाकरिष्यं तर्हि तेषां पापं नाभविष्यत् किन्त्वधुना ते दृष्ट्वापि मां मम पितरञ्चार्त्तीयन्त।
25 But [this cometh to pass], that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
तस्मात् तेऽकारणं माम् ऋतीयन्ते यदेतद् वचनं तेषां शास्त्रे लिखितमास्ते तत् सफलम् अभवत्।
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he will testify concerning me.
किन्तु पितु र्निर्गतं यं सहायमर्थात् सत्यमयम् आत्मानं पितुः समीपाद् युष्माकं समीपे प्रेषयिष्यामि स आगत्य मयि प्रमाणं दास्यति।
27 And ye also shall bear testimony, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
यूयं प्रथममारभ्य मया सार्द्धं तिष्ठथ तस्माद्धेतो र्यूयमपि प्रमाणं दास्यथ।
