John 13
1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
೧ಪಸ್ಕಹಬ್ಬದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ದಿನ ಯೇಸು, ತಾನು ಈ ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ತನ್ನ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿತೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊನೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದನು.
2 And supper being ended (the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], to betray him; )
೨ಅವರು ಭೋಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು, ಅಷ್ಟರೊಳಗೆ ಸೈತಾನನು ಸೀಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಸ್ಕರಿಯೋತ ಯೂದನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದನು.
3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God, and was going to God;
೩ತಂದೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದೂ, ತಾನು ದೇವರ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಬಂದು, ತಿರುಗಿ ದೇವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆಂದೂ ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿತ್ತು.
4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
೪ಆತನು ಊಟದಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲುಹೊದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದಿಟ್ಟು ಅಂಗ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಡುವಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡನು.
5 After that, he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel with which he was girded.
೫ಅನಂತರ ಬೋಗುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆಯುತ್ತಾ, ತಾನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡ ಅಂಗವಸ್ತ್ರದಿಂದ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಒರಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
6 Then he cometh to Simon Peter: and Peter saith to him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
೬ಹೀಗೆ ಆತನು ಸೀಮೋನ ಪೇತ್ರನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆಯುತ್ತೀಯೋ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 Jesus answered and said to him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು “ನಾನು ಮಾಡುವುದು ಏನೆಂದು ಈಗ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆನಂತರ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು” ಎಂದನು.
8 Peter saith to him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. (aiōn g165)
೮ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ತೊಳೆಯಬಾರದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ, ಯೇಸು, “ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತೊಳೆಯದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಪಾಲು ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದನು. (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Peter saith to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also [my] hands and [my] head.
೯ಸೀಮೋನ ಪೇತ್ರನು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಕೈಗಳನ್ನೂ, ತಲೆಯನ್ನೂ ಸಹ ತೊಳೆ” ಎಂದನು.
10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash [his] feet, but is wholly clean: and ye are clean, but not all.
೧೦ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ತೊಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಸಾಕು, ಅವನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನೀವೂ ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಶುದ್ಧರಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
11 For he knew who would betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
೧೧ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಕೊಡುವವನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಶುದ್ಧರಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನು.
12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said to them, Know ye what I have done to you?
೧೨ಆತನು ಅವರ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲುಹೊದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು, ಪುನಃ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಏನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಿತೋ?
13 Ye call me Master, and Lord: and ye say well; for [so] I am.
೧೩ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಗುರುವೆಂದೂ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ತನೆಂದೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತೀರಿ. ನೀವು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಸರಿ. ಹೌದು, ನಾನು ಅಂಥವನೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
14 If I then, [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
೧೪ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಕರ್ತನೂ, ಗುರುವೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ನಾನೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದಿರುವಾಗ, ನೀವು ಸಹ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ತೊಳೆಯಬೇಕು.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
೧೫ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆಯೇ ನೀವು ಸಹ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾದರಿಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
16 Verily, verily, I say to you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
೧೬ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ತನ್ನ ದಣಿಗಿಂತ ಆಳು ದೊಡ್ಡವನಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದವನಿಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡವನಲ್ಲ.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
೧೭ನೀವು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಇದರಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನೀವು ಧನ್ಯರು.
18 I speak not of you all; I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lifted up his heel against me.
೧೮ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ಆದರೆನನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಮಾಡುವವನೇ, ನನಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹ ಬಗೆದನು, ಎಂಬ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.
19 Now I tell you before it cometh, that when it hath come to pass, ye may believe that I am [he].
೧೯ಅದು ನಡೆಯುವಾಗ ನಾನೇ ಆತನು ಎಂದು ನೀವು ನಂಬುವಂತೆ, ಅದು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಈಗ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
20 Verily, verily, I say to you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.
೨೦ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಾನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾತನನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾತನನ್ನೇ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.”
21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say to you, that one of you will betray me.
೨೧ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಯೇಸು ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನೊಂದುಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿ, “ನಾನುನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spoke.
೨೨ಆಗ ಈತನು ಯಾರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಗೊಂಡು ಒಬ್ಬರನೊಬ್ಬರು ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom, one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
೨೩ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಳಗೆ ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಶಿಷ್ಯನು ಆತನ ಎದೆಗೆ ಒರಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.
24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, to ask who it should be of whom he spoke.
೨೪ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸೀಮೋನ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಸನ್ನೆಮಾಡಿ, “ಆತನು ಯಾರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳು” ಅಂದನು.
25 He then lying on Jesus' breast, saith to him, Lord, who is it?
೨೫ಆ ಶಿಷ್ಯನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಎದೆಗೆ ಒರಗಿಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿ, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಅವನು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
26 Jesus answered, He it is to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped [it]. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave [it] to Judas Iscariot, [the son] of Simon.
೨೬ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ನಾನು ಈ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ಅದ್ದಿ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೋ ಅವನೇ!” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ಅದ್ದಿ, ತೆಗೆದು, ಸೀಮೋನ್ ಇಸ್ಕರಿಯೋತನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೂದನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus to him, What thou doest, do quickly.
೨೭ಅವನು ಆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಕೂಡಲೇ, ಸೈತಾನನು ಅವನೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಬೇಗನೇ ಮಾಡು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spoke this to him.
೨೮ಆದರೆ ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ಹೇಳಿದನೆಂದು ಊಟದ ಮೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
29 For some [of them] thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said to him, Buy [those things] that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
೨೯ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು, ಯೂದನ ವಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಣದ ಚೀಲವಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ “ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ನಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೋ ಎಂದೋ, ಅಥವಾ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಕೊಡು ಎಂದೋ, ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
30 He then having received the sop, went immediately out: and it was night.
೩೦ಇಸ್ಕರಿಯೋತ ಯೂದನು ಆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಕೂಡಲೇ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಆಗ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.
31 Therefore when he had gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
೩೧ಅವನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಸುವು, “ಈಗ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಮಹಿಮೆ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಮತ್ತುದೇವರು ಆತನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಮೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
32 If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and will immediately glorify him.
೩೨ದೇವರು ಆತನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಮೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ದೇವರು ಸಹ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನನ್ನುತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸುವನು. ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸುವನು.
33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye will seek me: and, as I said to the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
೩೩ನನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲವೇ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವಿರಿ ಆದರೆ ‘ನಾನು ಹೋಗುವಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಬರಲಾರಿರಿ’ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ನಿಮಗೂ ಈಗ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
34 A new commandment I give to you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
೩೪ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಒಂದು ಹೊಸ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ: ಏನೆಂದರೆ, ನೀವು ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಬೇಕು. ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀವೂ ಸಹ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಬೇಕು, ಎಂಬುದೇ.
35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
೩೫ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿರುವುದಾದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು” ಎಂದನು.
36 Simon Peter said to him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterward.
೩೬ಸೀಮೋನ್ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಹೋಗುವ ಕಡೆಗೆ, ಈಗ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲಾರೆ. ಅನಂತರ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವೆ” ಎಂದನು.
37 Peter said to him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.
೩೭ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನು ಈಗ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲಾರೆನು? ನಿನಗಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೇ ಕೊಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say to thee, The cock will not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.
೩೮ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನನಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೇ ಕೊಡುವೆಯಾ? ನಿನಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ: ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುವ ತನಕ ಕೋಳಿಯು ಕೂಗುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದನು.
